What could be the cause? in the teleport station with the 4 doors the roof is cutting off the character and they fixed this by only allowing a certain height in the TS as to Bloody Ice I have no idea

eh... I've been getting so many problems in cabal.. so i stopped playing.. it would reformat my setting on my computer.. etc.. so annoying. I'm sure its a good game but it kept freezing and there were too many graphic problems (such as my mouse disapearing randomly)

Man if you say that the error was solved after reinstalling Windows , it means your windows was badly damaged and your video card drivers were not working properly .

No. I haven't even tried Cabal on this machine, which sadly isn't powerful enough for the game. After I had reinstalled Windows on my old machine the problem disappeared, so it probably wasn't a hardware issue.

Have you checked in options, might be that the gamma setting has changed somehow. If that's not the case, have a look in the cabal forums, might find something useful there.

Yesterday I reinstalled Windows, and at the same time Cabal, and so far that seems to have solved the problem.

Ok, the comment above was supposed to follow another comment which apparently disappeared.

What I said was that I downloaded nTune to monitor my GPU temp, and it was around 50-60 degrees Celsius, so that's probably not the cause of the errors. However, after installing nTune and rebooting, Cabal was working flawlessly again. Very strange, seems like it works after installing something nVidia related and rebooting, which is kind of peculiar.

Exactly what card did you have? So basically cooling the card a bit more effectively helped you cope with the error?

A couple of months back my video card was acting up pretty badly, artifacts started appearing all over the screen, even when I was just on the Windows desktop. I haven't got any problems with artifacts since then, but perhaps my card is damaged/messed up in some way.

Yep, I've updated to the latest drivers. The funny thing is, when I first tried the game, the error was there, when I later tried it (a couple of weeks later) it worked (!), so I started playing, then the error appeared again. I then installed the latest drivers, and then the game ran fine for a day or two, then the error started appearing again.

I'm downloading an application right now to see what temp I have...

I have tried logging off and on, and restarting the computer many times, and it doesn't help.

I'm actually thinking about getting a new video card. Not sure if I want to shell out money right now though. The thing is that the game has worked fine at times as well, I'm trying to figure out the reason why it seems to work sometimes.
