@AkatsukiCentral It's not bullshit. Too many developers screw us fans over with "modern" versions that would maybe appeal to little kids who didn't enjoy the golden age of Sonic that we did. Take the new Rocket Knight for example. It's embarrassing to even play. The original on the other hand was epic. Capcom took a step in the right direction by releasing a new Mega Man game with the original graphical style. It sold well enough. Sega should learn from it instead of continuing this charade...

Besides his main series on Genesis, the rest on that system (including spin-offs) were completely mediocre and you know it. The title in itself explains how it is new. Sega has just slapped "4" on the end which makes it a part of a series (the main saga) it's so different to.
Nintendo is definitely not what it used to be. I've stopped playing Mario games. Went tits-up since Luigi's Mansion as far as I'm concerned...

Well despite the fact that I hate this stupid re design movement, I have to give this guy credit; his re-design doesn't just alter the head shape and leave the body shape un-touched, this guy actually makes the body size match the size of Sonic's head, other re-designs make Sonic look likes he has cancer (hands being bigger than his head) but wit a fanbase like this one, I don't blame him.

I was a kid when Sonic the Hedgehog first came out and I loved it. Since then, Sonic has matured and evolved and so have (some) gamers that grew up with him. Unfortunately, too many people from that generation are stuck in the past and want Sonic to do what Megaman did. It's not gonna happen & unfortunately, they're never gonna stop complaining about it. Mario has been around as Jumpman in arcades where his hat was BLUE not RED! So yeah, even MARIO has been through changes. Look at Bowser, Luigi, and especially Peach.

I don't necessarily hate the other characters, my Second favorite character is Shadow, and then Amy. The only two characters I don't care for are Tails and Chip, but I don't hate them really.
SonicTweaker, the guy that remixed this song used instruments from Sonic CD. In fact, they are instruments from Sonic CD JAP/EUR's Title Screen. Also yes, Sonic is the only character that is playable.

I really wish they didnt use the new look of Sonic and Robotnik etc. This fan made edit of the logo looks worlds better. I feel the new should not have been mixed with the old. Should still be a very nostalgic and fun game anyway. :)

Well despite the fact that I hate this stupid re design movement, I have to give this guy credit; his re-design doesn't just alter the head shape and leave the body shape un-touched, this guy actually makes the body size match the size of Sonic's head, other re-designs make Sonic look likes he has cancer (hands being bigger than his head) but wit a fanbase like this one, I don't blame him.

What is all of this about people complaining that Sonic's eyes are green? What difference does it make. If I was one of the people who works hard trying to make a Sonic game that would please everyone I would go INSANE! I think this game is going to be good.

They end up saying the game sucks because of these things. They are even bitching about Sonic 4, and Sega's giving them exactly what they wanted.

The real "true" Sonic fans are the ones who can learn to enjoy the games Sega gives, and don't whine when something doesn't go the way they want, or isn't the way it once was. @89sonicboom The glitches aren't as severe on the PS3. The gameplay was alright, and the story was decent. The only thing I didn't like was Princess Elise.

I was a kid when Sonic the Hedgehog first came out and I loved it. Since then, Sonic has matured and evolved and so have (some) gamers that grew up with him. Unfortunately, too many people from that generation are stuck in the past and want Sonic to do what Megaman did. It's not gonna happen & unfortunately, they're never gonna stop complaining about it. I mean I saw a looong topic of complaints on Sega's website just about his eyes alone. *sigh*
I love Sonic but I'm not a conformist.

I'm a old school sonic fan and I really don't get everyone problem with sonics eyes, they changed marios first design and none of his fans had a problem with it. You guys moaning about eye color and quills are really letting the fanbase and Sega down.

I said that because it's my opinion. I think it was a total fix for them to change him. It's better, sonic's not as fat, and it's just overall more funner to look at.

@zyriuz2 if that were true, Mario would actually be Popeye, as that's what Nintendo did to avoid getting sued - they recolored Popeye.
Sega made Sonic grow up with the audience, and in a world where anything that Sega does is shunned, they wouldn't DARE change Sonic back to a chubby butt-face, for fear of stupid, hotheaded "fans" claiming that he's not fat enough, or something. Sonic fans NOWADAYS are these jaded monsters who no longer find anything about Sonic fun.

@Delfino224 OBJECTION!!! You only go back to Mario's design on the SNES, however...Sonic was originally shown on the Mastersystem and Genesis. Mario has been around as Jumpman in arcades where his hat was BLUE not RED! So yeah, even MARIO has been through changes. Look at Bowser, Luigi, and especially Peach.

@Delfino224 But that's just it...Sonic's been his green-eyed taller thinner self since he first went into 3D with Sonic Adventure, which has also been a while. If you're going to start with how long ago a character looked and changed, you need to go waaay back to the beginning. Whereas Bowser, Luigi, and the Princess went through a lot of changes. Some more than others, but you get the idea.

SonicTweaker, the guy that remixed this song used instruments from Sonic CD. In fact, they are instruments from Sonic CD JAP/EUR's Title Screen. Also yes, Sonic is the only character that is playable.
