The elephant standing at the barn entrance, Bette, is displaying neurotic behavior. The way she is moving her body is not simply shifting her 8,000 pounds. It shows that she is depressed, frustrated, does not have enough room or the proper environment, and is bored.
@awesomeH2O Zoos will be zoos...how sad. They say that they provide good medical care and food and water. All of that is important, but then the Zoo is not providing to their psychological needs. The keepers are forgetting that the elephants are very intelligent animals and really need to express this. I agree with you.
Bette isn't showing impatient behavior...am I correct?
