@Kminatz You can try turning the shutter off. Beyond that, you would have to resort to slow shutter and possibly more gain. 1/4" chips need a LOT of light to produce a good picture.
@Kminatz V1U has one of the worst low-light performance levels of all comariable HDV camcorders. suffice to say, without a lot of lighting any shots in a dim room or out at night will look awful. you can usually put the gain up to 6-9dB without much noise but you can still notice it. it's a great camera, but this is it's downside. i suggest a small LED unit or external lights if you're doing more professional shots, like an interview

Is the quality better when in original file? I'm assuming the quality is lower since its on youtube?

my hvr-v1u, the shots are super super dark.
i cant even film inside because its so dark.
what can i do? the nd filter is off!
