  • Viva bruce lee

  • Seducing physical dexterity, sheer excellence of technique and a world known name mesmerize the consumer and imply knowledge of karate. The study of karate history, it’s actual required syllabus as a martial art, past and current training on Okinawa, the origin of karate, tell quite another story. If you want to know of true karate, you need to investigate for yourself.

  • We call this STOLE PUNCH

  • i have had the houner to be trained with him he is awesome, fast and he is as hard as nails

  • No good!

  • You wouldn't even see the punch coming in kihon ippon kumite Mr. acerwk!

  • I wouldnt stand there do nothing or attack with oi-tsuki and stuff that works only in the movies my friend

  • Have a look at Kokubun vs Shiina, you will have to be patient though and type in ippon Kawawada. Maybe you'll change your mind about oi tsuki. There are many other examples to see too, just depends who is using it I suppose.

  • No,just a sport nothing more

  • I've trained in the same room as Maso Kawasoe, the man is a karate legend, he is controlling the punch, if he hit that guy properly he'd put him through a wall!!! You have to train in Karate to understand and appreciate just how hard and fast he could hit you! Karate teaches honour and discipline(dojo code), UFC guys and all are good but they wouldn't last with Kawasoe...fact!!

  • I am curious and i have question. if sensei kawasoe was matched against fedor emelianko, which of these fighter would win?

  • In the ring: Emelianko.

    On the street: Kawasoe.

  • If he was use oi-tsuki or gyaku tsuki with the other hand in hikite well Emilianko would won in 2 maybe 3 sec!

  • Well, son.

Did you EVER see a karateka - full contact, free sparring or in point tournament, it doesn't matter - holding his other hand in hikite while fighting?

  • Full contact karate AKA Kyokushin,Shidokan etc its ok.Shotokan with syllabus kihon,kata,ipon-gohon kumite (attaks with oi-tsuki oh God)well sorry but sucks big time

  • You don't know shit about what you're talking.

  • you dont know shit.Shotokan is a gay art for gay people..period

  • I'll care talking to you again when your pubic hair starts growing.

  • ok until then practice oi-tsuki and get your ass kicked like Funakoshi did from Motobu student..what a gay hahaha

  • you gay even for gay people talking like that...

  • get lost gay

  • kyokushin shouldnt be called full contact, as there are no punches allowed to the head, its like muay thai watered down thorughly, full contact karate normally refers to kick boxing pka or wka rules,

the other fact is that the founder of kyokushin practiced shotokan, goju ryu, the katas of both these styles are in kyokushin, so bad mouthing these styles is bad mouthing oyama senseis training roots. if you dont like the style dont do it , dont knock it. easy on youtube, try face to face.

  • dont know what youre on, if a practitioner of a certain style loses doesnt mean the style is bad, could be the practitioner, the facts regarding oyama commenting on funakoshi, r not true, when was funakoshi ass kicked by a goju guy?

judging from youre comment you just like commenting on styles, do you actually train aswell, or are you a paper tiger?

  • Oyama says in his biography that Funakoshi's karate was only for fitness and with no practical use in a real fight.Giko Funakoshi was challenged and he got ass kicked by a goju practicioner.Giko and his father wasnt just practicioner so it will be ok if they loose.there were the grand masters of Shotokan and both loose..so...

  • oyama spoke highly of funakoshi, he also stated that funakoshi taught him the true essence of karate, giko funakoshi practices shotokan and goju ryu, he is the second son of gichin funakoshi, back in okinawa the older masters often told there students to learn from others, the term karate was supposed to be a umbrella term used for the martial arts, it was only later on in japan that karate became a sport, true karate is not a sport, the karate oyama learnt from funakoshi was not a sport.

  • im sorry in his bio says the opposite about Funakoshi's karate! And Giko lost from a regular Goju Ryu practicioner. Not a master...imagine that...

  • Kick boxing pka wka etc is not Karate just american bullshit.the american karate is even worst that Shotokan hahaha..man they suck big time

  • So, it seems that you've learned how to become a master of conceit and arrogance in your dojo. Strange. I'm also practicing Karate. I was practicing in many schools and styles, right now I'm deep in Shotokan and WKF rules, I was also practicing Judo and Aikido and in all that places the first important things I've learned were politeness, humility and respect to others. Then we can learn how to fight. I really don't understand your behavior - it's not in Karate way..

  • Of course, my last post was dedicated to acerwk - if someone can't figure it out after his comments?

  • @trophy242 Hello im starting Aikido this year....i really want to learn how to throw people around :P How long have u been in aikido?? was it good style?

  • You both need to stop bad mouthing karate.Every style has there hard men.Shotokan karateka can be unbeliveable, look at Terry O'neil etc, also Goju are great karateka, you have to make it work for you,not the other way around.

  • @alangti21 yea i trained with Sensei masao kawasoe in bangor when i was grading twice now and i tell you he is a best his precise control and pure strength

  • respect!!!!! it takes years to get to his standard and be able to control his power

  • dont think he is hittimg him

  • I was graded by this great marshal artist many years ago. Fantastic tactician and a great sensi.

  • Excellent technique and demonstration of speed and power .

  • the man must have an iron stomach bloody hell!

  • I'll tell you, he got blue spots all over his belly!

  • lol

  • Looks lika a nagashi-zuki to me. Very popular punch in competitions. You punch with your gyaki-zuki hand in the middle of the step.

  • Rather an oikomi, I'd say...

  • very experienced man i love the concepts he teaches thanks for sharing this video

  • There is actually not any voice to catch, Sensei Kawasoe is a man of few words...

  • comment en telecharge ses video

    merci

  • shotokan's getting into breast and chudan-zuki is fast and great. but isn't it dangerous in the real fight coz u'll be hold and knee kickd next, right?

  • Very intresting.

  • Is Sensei demonstrating Kura Tsuki - Gyaku Tsuki combination ?

  • He's emphasising that the motion of the punch should start with the hip and body moving forward, with the punch smoothly coming out with the body movement - i.e. the leg/body drives the punch.

  • Very similar to Jun-zuki of Okinawa Karate, only that the power is not similar (Kime-japanese Karate- and Atifa-Okinawa Karate- is not the same).

  • last punch freaks me out!!!

  • Thank you for uploading this video. Any more like these would be greatly appreciated. Its just too bad the video could catch Kawasoe Sensei's voice on audio, but still very informative. Thank you.
