  • I sing to mp3 back tracks and use a powered speaker a mixer with pre amps and phathom power and an EV767 mic. Does anyone of you guys know if I can use this Rode NT1A in a live situation with good results ?

  • Es un micro sobrevaluado... es muy usado en guitarras pero la verdad que deja mucho que desear, no lo recomiendo, por el mismo precio hay micros mucho más recomendables.

  • what would be a good mic pre for this mic

  • its possibl to conect whit computer this microfon?

  • @MyHakob Yes, using a Preamp, such as the m-audio mobilepre usb.

It can accept the XLR, 2 in fact.

  • Is it possible for one to use a condensor mic and all the equipment and software used in a recording studio all hooked to some nice stage loudspeakers and have a perfect studio quality sound if one were to sing for a live audience???

  • i dont know what stand to buy for mine.

  • now you have to deal with your "suckiness"

  • The NT1-A is excellent if you're going directly into an audio interface without any analog EQ or compression. These microphones have very little electronics inside that produce noise which is perfect when you're doing all the effects in software.

Click on my name and listen to "The Sun" and "Stretch My Arms and Grab", both using an NT1A without EQ.

  • hi i have a question! ...witch mic is better ? rode nt1 or rode nt1000 ?? pls tell me what do you think :)

  • nt1000 always just go to any music store to hear them both they are really different.

  • tnx for the info !! :)

  • I like the NT1A ,OK so it not the best or most natural, but what do you expect for the money .

I have 2 mounted X/Y in my own zepp/wind sock made my own cables ( lo C ) each 20 mtrs with Gold XLRs alesis multimix 8 and Sony MZ-RH1 PCM MD recorder with its 8 hour power supply its great for good quality field use with the resolution of CD.

  • @tsaudiovisual

compare this to a Neuman U87. Which one would you use with

a tube pre amp to record male vocals (George Michael/Donnie Osmond

type voice or Peter Cetera)? U87 or the NT1-A and why?

  • @Breckmin dude you cant compare this rode with a neuman u87, neuman is over a £1000 , 5 times more expensive than rode nt1

  • i heve a question !! i heard that the NT1A with time sounds not so natural !! is this true??? pls if u have some experience with it lett me know

  • I have three and they're very hot signal wise. They sound best with a lower gain preamp like an art tube,no 20 db button necessary.I even switched out the original 12ax7 tube for a 5751 sovtek tube to reduce the gain.Otherwise,it's great. You could hear a pin drop with this thing. : D

  • This is an incredible mic but it will blow out very easily and you won't notice it at first because it still works but it will sound distorted when confronting mid high to moderate level sounds.

I have three of them all went bad when the headphones made a little feedback.

Can't even find a way to fix them...

  • This Is A Good Mic Trus

  • i jus got this, works brill and most the self nois was coming from my mixer but sorted that out by running a cable from the stereo aux returns 1 (left) 2 my external soundcard out rear??? dont ask me y this works but NOT a sound now must of made a circuit!

  • THAT'S A LIE!!! I OWN ONE!!!

  • im getting one :) cant wait to hear what it sounds like.

  • any one know ow to make vocals sound propa good on cubase with this mic because ive gt this mic too

  • reverb, hella compression, and Parametric Equalizer.

  • safe bro whats dat on cubase then what type of reverb and that, then what percentage n shit thanks 4 this mate :D appreciated

  • Whoever clicked thumbs-down to the above comments, should actually make positive suggestions, rather than just bag other peoples. Thumbs down doesnt help any of us!

  • I've had one of these for a year. Love it. Buying a second one to use them as overheads for drums. I'm EXCITED to see how they sound!!

  • this mic's ok compared to the nt2a, the nt2a's a beast!

  • not bad for the money..i like it,i had to build a power supply for it ,to use in the field but that only took a few hours

  • Yeah me2 NT1-A is just great. Love his sound. Verry nice! 4 that price :)

  • the NT1-A offers no self noise...(well next to zero self noise)...gives you the truth a bought what your recording...i own it ...great mic..!!

  • so you don't have that tape hiss shit in your recordings?-cuz i hate that shit, and since u said u bought it and from what i hear its tha shit-when i say tape hiss i mean like....when you play a cassette, and that noise comes in before tha song, thats what i keep gettin

  • No - you can not eliminate tape hiss - that's the problem you deal with when using tape. Best thing to do is go to digital. We're talking about self-noise and to be honest, even with cheap chinese condensors it's hard to hear the self noise.

  • Do yall think its better than the samson co1u. Iv'e had the samson for about a year or so and it sounds great I use Cool Edit. Which is really old. But I dont know It sounds good to me. goto Myspace,com/DieverseBkilla lemme know what you guys think.

  • I'm a music producer..RODE! I don't think it is! I KNOW SO dude! Samson? c'mon! Co1u is a usb toy mic for podcasting. $79.00

    NT1-A $230

RODE has been doing PRO mics for over 40 years! and winning over NEUMANN and other.

The NT2-A is even better, then you go up a little NT2000 the up some more with the K2. I have lots of mics! Samson is not on the list.

Go to rodemic . com and hear them... ok?

  • I was lookin for you guys to visit the page, and check it out before you commented because A: people dont use it correctly. Listen to my music and tell me if the quality sucks. im not $12,000 professional but for 79 bucks it works. im trying to upgrade but dont know where to go. im sure this isnt the BEST MIC EVER either. thanks for the feeback thou

  • need a better pod mic?

here: RODE Podcaster USB Dynamic Vocal Microphone $229

  • I listened to your tracks on your my space profile. I'm really feeling that "you can see me" track! Everything on it is great. The lyrics, the beat, the hook, everything except the most important thing! The delivery! There have been many over night sensations that have made on a mere single. "I KNOW" that if you would re-recored this track and really put some feeling into it the second time around, With proper promoting, It would definitely become an over night hit!

  • thanks man well it was for a person that I no longer hang with or do music with all of those trckas are .. i dunno a year or so old. But I wrote that in about..5 minutes.. LOL i was trying to sound sad, diffrent I dunno. That day an old neighborhood freind has gotten shot..So i was coming to term with that, and the guy on the chorus, sucks, he doesnt know the program like I do now, ive gotten way better but thanks alot man

  • No problem. :)

  • O yeah and i went first just so you know

  • I went first just so you know

  • opps i didn;t know my comments posted.

  • 4 the price u cant get it betta than dat it sound great 4 a $80 mic

  • I've got two of them... a pad and hi-pass would be nice but damnit, it's still a fantastic mic.

  • How much is the Rode NT1-A?

  • £135:00 in the UK but its better to buy matched pairs

  • wots he best cheapest condenser microphone u can get i dont really wnana be paying anymore than 30 for it

  • @techn9nekaliko im not sure if you have purchased a mic yet, but.. for $30 you probably arent going to find anything. But as for cheap and decent you should try the AudioTechnica AT2020, and possibly the MXL v67.

  • @OnTheSpotRecording

i ment £30 , now im willin pay up to maybe about 60 dollars :) ok ill look that mic up tho and thanks :)

  • best bang for you buck....

you just cant beat and NT1-A for the price

  • which pre-amp are u lot using for the nt1-a?

  • such a great microphone to compliment my focusrite saffire

  • hell yea, ive got it, great mic

  • I use it for Foley work. It's hard to beat for price, with only 5db of self noise!

  • I love my sE 2200A :D

  • Foley? That's lovely, I'm aiming to buy one for the same task. I was watching Howel's Moving Castle the other day and was amazed at the low self-noise their mics had for all the foley work - and these were tiny sounds, like skin chafing and fabric moving. Hopefully this mic will get me a similar quality. ^_^

  • Plug 2 of these mics into a Fostex FR2 ...NOT the "LE",with so good blimp & softy covers, and dont forget low Capacitance high quality cables and you got a winning combination, but try to stay out of the Rain.

  • Yea, ive had the NT1A for two years now and it is everything they advertise it as. GREAT mic!
