  • Awesome!

  • Anybody else see something coming back across the road at 1:03 or 1:04? Or is it just me?

  • way it sounds. you where also

  • damn i've seen two over a 5yr. period!!! I need a camera:( Here in Tahoe we have Lynx like cougars that are cougars, but also are a cousin of the Lynx! I got my sighting mid-day after a 4ft. blizzard i think he came down of the mountain becuase of the snow? right off of SR431 Mt. Rose Highway

  • hey lady he,s looking at you for dessert

  • it's commin hes commin is she havin some fun in the back seat or what?

  • shoot it, skin it, eat it, make tools and jewelry out of the remains.

  • The little men who want to kill everything are pathetic.

  • Beautiful cats ain't they

  • I would slowly go back to the car and bring my bow and rifle out

  • haha ya man grab the good ole 25-.06 and put a good hole in it

  • @Boogly210 That's why they are so rare, because of idiots like you who have to shoot every fucking thing they see. What you should do is go out back of your shack, bring a mirror, look in it, then do the world a favor and put a bullet in your head.

  • @Boogly210 a hole in you will be a lot better stupid redneck

  • Wow, that was really great, Thanks!

  • I have spoted a young one in Los Gatos, CA. 10ft away from 5 people.

Had to be killed, it was getting to close to children.

  • @wpoulin I betcha... it was trying to run a daycare. =o

  • Cool

  • very lucky to get such a great video shot of this amazing animal. good job

  • wow...thats amazing stuff....a truely awesome animal

  • I live in a trailer out here in Anza CA , and i have seen a few mountain lions out here , i even saw one attack a poor poodle and killed it and took it with him

  • I had a mountain lion jump out of the bushes near me one time when I was camping.

Let me tell you, looking into the eyes of that cat when I had only just woke up to use the bathroom was probably one of the scariest moments of my entire life.

It turned around and ran away - it wasn't as big as this one, but it was about as big as a good sized dog. Could've taken me out if it wanted to, but it didn't.

That is one big ass mountain lion.

  • if you can keep your mouth shut maybe it would of stayed longer!

  • These things are everywhere in CA. I'm in Petaluma and we have a healthy number of lion around here.

  • thats a good looking cat, full size allright

  • Wow! Did you hear her growl??

  • if she would've shut her dam mouth maybe it would stay for the meal.

  • I didn't mind her talking. :D I think female British accents are sexy.

  • which road were you going to the grand canyon on south or north rim ? i went there didnt even know there were mountain lions there ! wow !

  • It was actually on the East Rim Drive, we had been staying on the South Rim and were heading to Page. Going to Yellowstone in August hoping to see a wolf!

  • @4chaff54 amazing nice place the grand canyon i picked up a rock from there as a keep sake (cornish trophy) free memnto lol even though it tells you not to !

and yes thats a bloody big cat !

  • @GREEVES246 A mountain lion came into my Camp at South Rim Grand Canyon AZ, it chirped and squeaked at me. They are common here.

  • @GREEVES246 well you sir are one uninformed retard and your mother should have aborted you

  • thats uh big pussy............

  • they are pretty much every where in alabama

  • That is a big ass, stocky Mountain Lion.

  • It must have been the accent that scared that cougar.... innit?

  • i saw one walking down the highway at my grandmas house in montana.

  • You are very lucky to have seen a mountain lion! They are extremely reclusive and very shy around humans...thus, the very small amount of youtube vids with wild mountain lions. Congrats on seeing one!

  • how come you didnt rub his stomach like a house cat?

  • That cat is huge. Probably all muscle.

  • nice, thats fucking close

  • a whole round? You are aware that a bullet is ONE round, right?

Sorry, just had to be a smartass.

  • ok, the repliers to omgtereisatac suck ass, so it just goes by how big the mountain lion is, they can get up to 200 pounds average.

  • Goddamn that is a big f'in kitty!!

  • "To photograph animals in the countryside is a great test of your patience. Some times you will be lucky, and finding yourself in the middle of moments when everything is happening at once. It is important to always stay calm, so the animals don't become disturbed by your presence and quickly runs away."

  • I live in upstate NY, an hour south of Albany. A young puma got hit here the other day. They are growing and spreading fast. Amazing cats but kind of scary knowing that they are nearby.

  • wow...i live about a half hour away south from albany...and I have one in my woods.. where do you live?

  • an hour south....Oneonta.

This makes me excited and scared at the same time. I love big cats, but, well, thats pretty frightning.

  • thats a big cat

  • mountain lions are legit

  • pretty cool, beauty and big cat!!!!!

  • WOW.......................

  • that was amazing!

  • I heard one last night, made the same sound as in the video labeled "mountain lion call" didnt know what to think because I have never heard anything like that before, i flashed a light on it and there was yellow eyes, the back had a big slanted tail, but thats all I can see, today I went back to where I saw it and theres a cave, about 1-2 feet wide and 3 feet tall, the thing was also very sneaky, moving from one place to another very slowly then yelling, is it a mountain lion?

  • are you making this up, where you outside, how far was it from you? whatever you do stay out of that cave:)

  • Man you guys are so lucky to have seen this. I have lived in northern Idaho all my life and I have yet to see one even though they live in this area.

  • nosaj626,

Northern Idaho eh? I assume Coeur d' Alene. I've been "lucky" enough to see 2, 1 alone and one with a buddy. 1 up around Bunco and one around trail 257 around the lake. Pretty scary man, they are big cats. Amazing, beautiful animals.

  • 2 together?!!! do u understand how RARE that is? it must of been during the mating season because they are known to be solitary and territorial! There is usually one for every 20 miles.

  • You are so fortunate to have seen this beautiful animal and even more so to catch it on video! I saw one a few days ago but it was out of view before I could get my camera out. Thanks for sharing this!

  • Gorgeous animal, and so elusive. Great amateur footage, if I may say so. :)

  • woo

  • wow, that was cool

  • I think its best to leave the m.lion alone, eventually it won't eat if you guys recording it, plus its not good idea to be close to a dead carcass, mountain lions will could possibly attack if it thinks you're after its food! Nice vid though! Glad you guys did not run! That would be a big mistake!

  • Very nice to see one moving. They are so stealthy and elusive.

    Thanks very much.

  • i think there are like 4 wild mountain lion video recordings on all of youtube that i've seen, and this is the best!

  • right o

  • No idea how rare this is to be able to see one that close or at all for that matter...nice footage!

  • Great shot. Exciting !

    Thanks for sharing, Cheers'

  • wow, it must've been an awesome sight to see it with your own eyes!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • lookingup113 ur a dull borng thick lump of shit!

  • clean out your mouth, just a semi sarcastic opinion, don't look into to much.....

  • It was actually at the Grand Canyon in the US driving along East Rim Drive just before sunrise in October last year.

  • seeing the mt.lion at the Grand Canyon makes it 100x better, did you see any California Condors?

I was being semi sarcastic in my first comment , great video

  • did you see the mountain lion and then turn around in the car to go see it? or was it you were in the right place at the right time?

  • As we were driving along my husband spotted it running off, so we reversed back and waited for it to reappear. We were lucky it came back! Unfortunately we didn't see any condor but over the course of our holiday we were lucky to see bobcat, osprey, grey fox, and animals exciting for us English such as elk, raccoon, chipmunk, birds we dont get like chickadee and red tailed hawk. Just after seeing the lion we saw a giant stag elk in the road but unfortunately could not get the camera out in time!

  • is that the first mountain lion the both of you have seen? The Grand Canyon is an awesome park, was there at the end of the snow season and it lightly snowed while staying at the lodge....awesome sight, haven't been to the North Rim i believe it is closed during the winter mnths....was hoping to see a condor, no such luck though...

  • i personally haven't seen a mtn. lion in the wild yet....Elk are enormous...weight up to 1500 pounds...and i'm sure at that big they can defend themselves against a mtn. lion....wouldn't that be a sight to see...best of luck in the future ...i was in Washington (lake Quinault) and a whole herd of elk walked across the street in front of us...also ran into a huge herd on a golf course at night up there, they were huge....Washington/Oregon coast is beautifull...

  • nice video . Must have really been exciting!

  • GREAT VID!

  • well done :-)

  • How exactly was I able to scare it sitting in a car 100 feet away! Have you not heard of a zoom lens? It was actually a very exciting experience for us, these are elusive animals, and made our holiday. We were incredibly fortunate to be driving past at the right time and to have the camera to hand and be able to record it for others to see.

  • i don't care if you were 100yrds away Wild animals have remarkable hearing.....don't get me wrong i like your video......you did a great job.....lucky you are.......

  • heck yeah i hear ya. your so lucky! i've never been fortunate to see one, i've only seen tracks.

  • @4chaff54 their hearing is very acute and your vehicle are two reasons he/she got wary and trottted off

  • nice big cat...very few amatuer video of Puma...and now we know why..

  • If you calm down next time lady, we could see it longer.....you scared it

  • how did she scare it if she was inside of a car?

  • Wild animals have remarkable hearing, lady got excited thats all......don't get me wrong her voice over on the tape brings life to the video, but if she had stayed quiet, there would be more footage possibly

  • if anyone was in her shoes they would do the same thing. its a mountain lion for crying out loud! 99% of us will never get this lucky.

  • now, now you have to be very quiet if you want the mtn.lion to come up close to your car :)

women tend to get a little more excited then men on occassion, watch the video again compare her to him......but hey it was a great video......:)

  • i'm a guy and i know i would freak out way more than she did, cause getting a mountain lion on film is my one of my dreams as a wildlife filmer.

  • for all those who thought i was being mean....forgot to put this at the end of my comment: :)
