They can also provide comfort or securty thus, preventing meltdowns. The worker had no right to harass the mother and her children. Therefore, even if she did throw her drink at the woman, I wouldn't blame her.

@youngflymista Note: The drink hit the floor and hit several people not just the woman...you can tell by the trajectory of the splash, that the liquid is rising up due to the force of the cup hitting the ground...is she threw the drink directly at her the liquid would traject down due to gravity.
The best retaliation for the woman to have gotten back would be to call the cops and file a complaint, but instead she acted violently...probably because she knew was wrong about the dog.

If she works there, she should know the laws involving service animals anyway. As a mother, I would have felt threatened by the lady and scared for my children. I may not have thrown my drink but, I would have called the police.
