depending on your broker margin requiremnets range anywere between 500.00 per contract to 2,000 the contract themselves dont cost that much what your really being charged is the margin requiremnt on the contract and commission per contract the ES which is the S&P and the YM which is the DOW are mostly the cheapest to day trade
