That was sad. I love nice scale birds. I had a 1/4 scale Gee Bee R-2 with an O.S. twin Super Gemini 2.4 I flew it daily for a couple years til it died from a torque roll as I aborted a landing. I hate seeing beautiful birds die, but it's part of the game.....

@brutformen I've had that happen a few times as well. Had a few Q-500's go in on the first flight, had a couple fly away never to be seen again. Most of the time it's the on/off switch in the plane. I don't mind crashing if it was my fault. But when it goes down for no reason, that really sucks and pisses me off.

I find it strange how it seems to "paff" softly thru the trees, does a slow, gentle flat spin, and then smashes to pieces on the ground. 8-[ I guess it shows how big and relatively heavy a plane it is.

I just watched a documentary on the TA 152, and this is one if I'm not mistaken. I believe the TA 152 is a FW 190, but with a long nose to accommodate a V-12 engine instead of a radial. The fuselage was extended in the back as well to compensate the extended nose.

That's an FW190, the wings are not nearly long enough nor tapered enough at the tip to be a 152

Great video, tragic crash. He nearly made it! i missed that crash in the flesh. I must have got so fed up with listening to Dave Bishops drivel, i went to look round the shops. I will have to wear ear plugs at the next show.
