Maybe the bible doesn't address it because it is not a requirement as it does nothing. What the bible says is that we, the believers, are the light of the world. Back when Paul went into the ancient places like Ephesus, etc. the pagans had their queen of the heaven statues, most pagan religions have a female goddess. When they became believers, they converted those pagan statues into the image of Mary, and the church has retained the past pagan ideas. This is the problem.

The problem that our Protestant brothers and sisters, have unfortunately, is that they ignore the sacred Scripture was born into the Catholic Church. It was the Catholic Bishops, which, based on Sacred Tradition and the testimonies of the Fathers of the Church that defined the Biblical Canon. Thus, Protestants who came in less than 500 years, the owners claim to be the word of God, but forget that the word of God is not our service, but we service it.

But then how do you explain these verses which allow the use of statues? Exod. 25-18, Numbers 21: 8-9, I Kings 6-29. The bible has always emphasized the relics of the saints and have always been cherished. 2 King, 2: 8-14, Exodus 7:10, Matt 9: 20-21: Also Matt. 14:36, Acts 19:12, Acts 5:15-16. And it is perfectly biblical for the saints to offer our prayer . (Rev 5:8)

Your interpretation of revelation is not in keeping with a learned understanding. The woman represents Israel. God, Christ, in the Old Testament, always referred to Israel as a woman metaphorically. Also the great whore represents a false religion., mother of harlets, all these references are not literal. In Rev. 12:13 And to the woman were given two wings,etc. that is the remnant of escaping Jews, the 144,000witnesses. Even in Rev.17:18 And the woman which you saw is that great city,etc.

We love him dearly and feel so lucky to share in his faith of God. I feel chosen that I am honored enough to know the person and Saint that he is. Your faith shall make you whole. I've been to the shrine in PA and it was very inspirational and insightful. The shrine has a museum, which was very educational. I really think that Padre Pio can give us all hope in our darkest hours.
At a National Shrine to Saint Padre Pio located in Barto Pa., near Allentown My Family and I experienced the odor of sanctity. I was blessed to receive a Vision of Padre pio on this same date and was blessed with the gift of tears. He has made such an impact in my life and that of my family. If there ever was a sinner or one who wandered so far from his flock it was me. If I say a miracle took place in my life than any non-believer can be sure that one did take place. Believe me, I was BAD!

Maybe your story could help me if you would like to share it with me? Padre Pio is my mother's favorite Saint (we discovered him sometime last year). I'm very fond of him too. I wish my mother could smell the odor of sanctity. It would reassure me to know he is watching over us. I'd love to have a vision or experience the odor, but I'm not convinced I ever will.

I don't think Jesus would think very highly of this fighting and name-calling. We need to respect other people's beliefs even if we do not agree with them. I personally love Pope John Paul II and I find it unfortunate that some of you consider him a heretic. I don't think he was weak or soft, just unfathomably compassionate. Jesus had one true message- treat other's as you want to be treated and forgive everything. Compassion is the most important virtue.

@Domenicabbccc That "ghost and truth" is a passage from the Bible, Jesus said that, a time will come, there will not be neccesary to pray in a temple , no special conditions, people dont need a "temple" , a religios group or extra mediators, like ur "saints" or priests.

Maybe the bible doesn't address it because it is not a requirement as it does nothing. What the bible says is that we, the believers, are the light of the world. Back when Paul went into the ancient places like Ephesus, etc. the pagans had their queen of the heaven statues, most pagan religions have a female goddess. When they became believers, they converted those pagan statues into the image of Mary, and the church has retained the past pagan ideas. This is the problem.

But then how do you explain these verses which allow the use of statues? Exod. 25-18, Numbers 21: 8-9, I Kings 6-29. The bible has always emphasized the relics of the saints and have always been cherished. 2 King, 2: 8-14, Exodus 7:10, Matt 9: 20-21: Also Matt. 14:36, Acts 19:12, Acts 5:15-16. Your interpretation of revelation is not in keeping with a learned understanding. The woman represents Israel. God, Christ, in the Old Testament, always referred to Israel as a woman metaphorically. Also the great whore represents a false religion., mother of harlets, all these references are not literal. In Rev. 12:13 And to the woman were given two wings,etc. that is the remnant of escaping Jews, the 144,000witnesses. Even in Rev.17:18 And the woman which you saw is that great city,etc.

Do you realize that in the pagan baal worshipping and even the Greek pagan worship they had a queen of heaven and this is where this deity Mary worship comes from. Be careful. After mass today I was lucky to be at the unveiling of the statue of St. Padre Pio at a church in Merrick, NY. He is an amazing man and he must know how important he is to many. We love him dearly and feel so lucky to share in his faith of God. I feel chosen that I am honored enough to know the person and Saint that he is. God Bless you Padre for being so close to God and that you keep us close. "I will not worry" knowing you are by my side. <3

Your faith shall make you whole. I've been to the shrine in PA and it was very inspirational and insightful. The shrine has a museum, which was very educational. I really think that Padre Pio can give us all hope in our darkest hours.

At a National Shrine to Saint Padre Pio located in Barto Pa., near Allentown My Family and I experienced the odor of sanctity. I was blessed to receive a Vision of Padre pio on this same date and was blessed with the gift of tears. He has made such an impact in my life and that of my family. If there ever was a sinner or one who wandered so far from his flock it was me. If I say a miracle took place in my life than any non-believer can be sure that one did take place. Believe me, I was BAD!

Maybe your story could help me if you would like to share it with me? Padre Pio is my mother's favorite Saint (we discovered him sometime last year). I'm very fond of him too. I wish my mother could smell the odor of sanctity. It would reassure me to know he is watching over us. I'd love to have a vision or experience the odor, but I'm not convinced I ever will.

I don't think Jesus would think very highly of this fighting and name-calling. We need to respect other people's beliefs even if we do not agree with them. I personally love Pope John Paul II and I find it unfortunate that some of you consider him a heretic. I don't think he was weak or soft, just unfathomably compassionate. Jesus had one true message- treat other's as you want to be treated and forgive everything. Compassion is the most important virtue.

@Domenicabbccc That "ghost and truth" is a passage from the Bible, Jesus said that, a time will come, there will not be neccesary to pray in a temple , no special conditions, people dont need a "temple" , a religios group or extra mediators, like ur "saints" or priests.
In old Israel the priest was between people and God (YHWH) . Now, with Jesus, we have a DIRECT link to God, as the Bible said.
We have a Great Priest (Jesus) at right side of YHWH, he mediate for us
