  • Fabulous! I loved your performance. I do think I agree with the person who said they would have preferred less of the sustaining pedal, though I'd certainly be happy if I could play it as well as you can!

  • Saw this on Twitter. It rocks!

  • lol. I commented twice. Sorry.

  • he could more work, but that really good performence. Didn.t hearworse.

  • thebest performence ihave ever heard

  • Amazing...nice dynamics :D

  • I prefer this one over Gilels, hard to describe why, as I clearly recognize his mastery and the fact that Rachmaninov put his legacy onto him... but for me, this sounds much more... uhh... epic? Only wish this was better quality :)

  • also my favourite composer! you express the deep passion of this piece in an excellent way! But I prefer your swinging performances in 'the black sheep'!!!

  • You are a credit to your generation. Thank GOD that you understand the meaning of music. You have a fabulous career ahead of you. You should try out for the New York Philharmonic one day. Your young and you can spend the next 60 years with them and have a steady gig. A friend of mine just recently retired from the Philharmonic. Nice run. Enjoy your talent!

  • In many ways, you remind me of James Booker...bravo!

  • Ein Wort, drei Buchstaben: WOW!

Respekt, für dein Alter spielst Du weltklasse! :)

  • nicely played :)

but you hurried too much in the end :)

also the middle part, I believe it should be a little slower

  • Wooow, I'm so amazed by your playing skills. You are so young, and you're playing like a true master. Umbelievable.

P.S. where should i look up for notes of this? I'm dying to play this by myself!

  • Not a bad interpretation, but I would have done more phrasing in the first section.

  • Meraviglioso.

  • bravo !!!! bravo!!!! :D una ves mas!!!!

  • Excellent!! I really enjoyed hearing u play ^^

I have to play this for an audition next saturday and im so worried for the last to pages because ive only learnt it a couple of days ago!

    Well done once more :D

  • It's just ... wonderful ! From France.

  • just amazing

  • I don't understand the lack of views... Youtube has got something wrong!

  • love youuuuuuuuu

  • Amazingness

  • i was 18 (and still:D) when i played this, and it gave me such an enthusiastic feeling and kind of freedom, so in my opinion it's a MUST for every pianist:) (btw playing the piano is only a hobby for me).

my interpretaion is almost the same, and both of them (mine and Luca's) are very good:) (maybe i'll upload a video of mine, later...)

Wow! Respekt! :-)

  • Hey! I subbed about a month ago after falling in love with boogie-woogie piano, but I'm recording this piece later this week! I would really love to be play blues piano well but after playing classical piano since the age of 5 (so 13 looong years) its been a little restraining on the improv front. Which style did you start with and how did you manage to transfer between the two? Thanks :D

  • ...why don t u try with something by Liszt?

  • Awesome!!! Keep on the good work!

  • your incredible.... can't wait for the CD

  • that was pretty good :}

i thought that you used a little to much sustain

    but that's just me :P

    you were great

  • To me this is a superb interpretation of the Rachmaninoff classic. Luca let's the piano breathe with his magnificant tone and color management.

  • wow! im so impressed! it is so beautiful i love what i hear!:) keep it up

  • ★★★★★ Pefect as you always are.

  • Bravo!! from Russia! Rachmaninov - favorite composer!

  • Wow, Luca! AMAZING and AWESOME!

  • Hey i am 13,and i have had a few nasty comments as well, most are jealous or have no talent what so ever.Your awesome bro keep it up.

  • you sooo much Feeel the nrj of music.. gooorge playing!!! thank you! Respect & keep up!

  • this is Rachmaninoff i wanna listen to!

a sound from voice of natural

    thank you,Luca☆ keep on!

  • Why are the classical musicians so critical.

  • @zm177 I would like to note that not all classical musicians will be that critical. i am I classically trained vocalist and would never discourage someone at this age from pursuing something.

    Just thought I should say

  • Luca, I felt you did I fine job! This is YOUR interpretation and no one else's. I look forward to seeing more from you, keep it up!

  • coz they have a stick so far up their own arse they can no longer smell the shit.

  • This young man is awsome. He does great blues too.

  • Most great man. let me know how you like yer Pizza.

  • this has inspired me to reacquaint myself with the piece... couldn't stop practicing it today. thanks :) wonderful performance

  • i tried learning this myself, but wow, you are amazing! :D

  • super performance, leider ohne stativ gefilmt.

  • Congratulations on a very sensitive yet full-blooded performance! Something to be proud of, certainly.

Wishing you all the best this holiday season.

  • Dear lucky. I adored your boogie woogies, but now you have shown every body, that you can really play the piano. Thank you of the bottom of this 75 old heart for doing it all . Take good care of yourself , greetings from us in the Netherlands Dinkie

  • Bravo! Our youngest daughter said listening to you play makes her heart happy. So, you have my admiration and gratitude for making my little girl happy. It's always a great pleasure to watch you videos and listen to you play. Keep up the great work!

  • Mercy!!! That was fantastic Luca...You just keep getting better to say nothing of growin up before our eyes...Been watching you for a long time...

  • Brilliant! That was amazing!

  • Excellent - as always

  • Hey Du kannst ja auch Klassik!! Prima !!

  • Liberace reborn! You are truly amazing.

  • Wonderful, along with others who have also commented, I did not realise your talents extended as widely as Rachmaninoff (my favourite composer). You are truly very good.

Speaking not as an expert, but as a passionate listener, your timing is good, expression good and keyboard skills are excellent.

I prefer less sustain, Rach is so rich in sound and depth it doesn't need any more. For me the ultimate interpretation of this piece is by Gilels.

Note: It is the Prelude in C Sharp Minor.

  • Thanks!

I will listen to Gilels interpretation of this piece.

Just changed the name, thanks =)

    regards, Luca

  • @kiwibobe Hmm, I consider Horowitz's interpretation as the definitive. Gilels is Very good though.

  • All this time I have spent watching you play and I never knew you could play classical music with such an astounding style. It is like there are two completely different sides to you. I enjoy both sides. You have spent many, many hours practicing the piano and it shows with your voiceings, your style, and your total involvement in the music while you play, be it Boogie Woogie or this bit of a classical number. Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you.

  • Rachmaninoff Prelude is a 5/5 ★s

  • Amazing how you can play such totally different styles; Boogie Woogie and Classic. Absolutely fantastic!

Do you have again a christmas surpise for us like last year (Silent Night)?

  • Hi Eric

    yes I have =)

  • great job :-)

    5*****

  • goood!!!!

  • u r a petero

  • Sounds great! Were it nerves in the beginning or is that routine?

  • Wunderbar! Gut getan! Vieler Dank von Kentucky!

  • boah. das haut einen aus den socken.

alles ausm kopf auch noch oder?

    respekt :)

  • You really know how to hit the keys! Nice!

  • Wow! That was fantastic. I'm sure we're going to be hearing a lot more from you in the future. Good luck!

  • Five Star Performance...!

  • Wunderbar !

  • WOW

  • Man that's so grate ;) Good job ;)

  • That was great.

  • Fantastic!

What a great gift you share with us. Thank You!

    O'B

    lg, Luca
