i saw it and i like the play and the movie equal!

The play its more real and in the end they had a machine that made snow and i was crying about a half hour!just perfect!it was a magical play!

I've got to say, although this does look fantastic, I prefer the movie by the looks of this trailer. The guy who plays Edward seems to be an epic dancer, but I don't think he's quite captured Edward as a character. He's supposed to be a recluse, very shy, but he often seems rather pleased here. Although it's great acting, I just don't think it suits

Of course he's NOT going to look like Johnny Depp. No one who tries out for that role is going to look like Johny Depp, unless you somehow get the man himself to audition (which will never happen). Don't bash the show just because he doesn't look like the original, and especially if you haven't seen it yet. The diffrence between stage and screen in all situations like this or vice versa... is that they're never going to be the same. You'll always have a favorite, but they're never similar.

Don't go. I saw this. It was terrible. The dancing is really cheesy, the storyline makes no sense (and is vastly different from the movie in a very bad way), and the plot centers more around the suburbanites not Edward.

About 10 minutes max of the actual original Danny Elfman music. The rest of the 80 minutes is all Rock 'N Roll dance music. What the hell is the go with the Rock 'N Roll dancing and dresses? This movie was set in present time not the 1950s.

You're right and wrong about it being in set in the 1950s. Remember that it is being told by the girl played by Winona Ryder (Kim) when she's an old woman. So, the main part of the film very well could have been even before the 1950's. Either that or we're in the future when she's telling the story. I find the architecture of the suburban area to agree with it possibly set in the 1990's, we'll never know.
