... Now I feel like I was wrong to seriously think that Edward would look good doing ballet... Hes supposed to look clumsy... Not graceful exactly... But I wonder if my opinion would change if I saw this whole show? Maybe on ICE? xD I love ballets on ice... lol
Is that the ballet version? On one of my many visits to London with my parents we were walking through leicester square when I saw a poster for it and I was all "OMJ! Can we go see that." and my mum was all "It's at Sadler's Wells. That's ballet. I don't you'd like it." It didn't look like a ballet from the poster xD. I really wanna see it, but it isn't on anymore T_T
i think its a really good idea to adapt it into a play. the movie was so excellent that it deserves the people of the theatre world to experience it as well, although i think that no man could ever live up to johnny depps performance in the movie.
uhmm it doesn't seem right, because in the movie Edward seemed insecure like as if he was scared to do something because he wanted to fit in without screwing up, and the guy in here makes himself seem like he's too secure, and full with himself.
Wow, I never knew there was anything like this! I love and adore the film so I would definitely go see this! Should be interesting.. (but it looks like it's old so you can probably no longer see it anywhere, right??)
I believe so. The city that I moved to stopped playing it half a year before I came ;w; I think that was the last time they had that performance too. i so wanted to see it
Don't get me wrong; this looks great, but I highly doubt this could even come close to capturing the true brilliance and emotion that came with the original movie....nothing can come close to the perfection that was Tim Burton's masterpiece
I've got to say, although this does look fantastic, I prefer the movie by the looks of this trailer. The guy who plays Edward seems to be an epic dancer, but I don't think he's quite captured Edward as a character. He's supposed to be a recluse, very shy, but he often seems rather pleased here. Although it's great acting, I just don't think it suits
i saw this play like 2 yrs ago at the ahmanson theatre. man, it made me cry. it was awesome n beautiful. specially the snow angel part and dance. dude who played him got a standin ovation.
Question to those who have seen this: does this version keep to the plot of the original? Does Edward still have his flashbacks? I can't fathom the Vincent Price scenes as a ballet...
i was there saturday in antwerp it was AMAZING!! really beautiful with lots of humor ans tense my girlfriend was criying it was for her birthday really good show congratulations for the cast and crew

You can try Edward Sicssorhands theme our Edward Sicssorhands ice dance. I found them on Frost Wire. Our you can just try Danny Elfman in the artist/composer box thing.
Danny Elfman did the soundtrack. Ice Dance when Edward is carving the ice sculpture. At 1:00 in this vid is where that song starts...hope that helps out man lol.
a friend of mine went and saw it at the Fox last year, and he said there wasn't actually a word of dialogue in it at all, is that true? I guess in the play it tells the story through Danny Elfman's music, is that right? I don't want to go see it if there isn't any dialogue
No, beleive me, when i heard there was no dialogue i wasnt to keen on seeing it either, but i went. Trust me it was AMAZING, even without the dialogue!
Probably if I actually saw it I would have a different opinion, but I just can't imagine this movie as a ballet. Could anyone who has seen it tell me if they liked it or not? Cause if it's still running I would like to see it for myself.
Does anyone know if its still running, and if its goingt o be or has been to toronto? i tried to get on the official site but my computer wont let me :\ thanks for the video :) this story always makes me insanely giddy and cry my eyes out all at once. Luv it <3 anyways. thanks :D
My daughter's Mother's Day gift to me bk I love J.Depp in anything! I got chills all over, esp. during the Ice Dance... it was as exquisite as the "snow scene" (Nutcracker.) I just had to buy a ticket for the evening performance; (I did.) Both male leads are so incredibly talented, & look enough like Johnny for me!..oh, i shd b ashamed of myself, what with being over 50 and all . . .
Of course he's NOT going to look like Johnny Depp. No one who tries out for that role is going to look like Johny Depp, unless you somehow get the man himself to audition (which will never happen). Don't bash the show just because he doesn't look like the original, and especially if you haven't seen it yet. The diffrence between stage and screen in all situations like this or vice versa... is that they're never going to be the same. You'll always have a favorite, but they're never similar.
One thing to say. This looks nothing like Johnny Depp, didn't like it. Only the music was enjoyable. And Edward looks like he knows too much about the human world already! Not like he looks innocent in the original REAL movie.
They played this have at the paramount half a year before i moved to Seattle. I saw one of the old posters and was so sad. If they ever come back, i'll definentally see it.
I honestly can't say it looks better than the movie...Because it doesn't. Why can't we just movies alone, instead of making remakes or ballets out of them? Ugh!

well i watched it and i only love the first part and the last part the rock and roll wasnt for me they shouldnt have put rock and roll in it anyway i heard that they going to put it back on show in december
even though it looks kinda stupid I still would want to see this sometime if they ever bring it back (and if they have sorry I didn't know I don't keep up to date all the time on stuff like this hahaha)
hey neworderarmy they didnt do the normal story coz it would just be boring we would all be like yep seen it ok and ofcourse the music was like that derr this movie came out in 1990 ok so go look at ur history books this was at the opera house so i dont think they would put something as crap as u describe it in one of the biggest theaters ok so go get a life this was beautiful
About 10 minutes max of the actual original Danny Elfman music. The rest of the 80 minutes is all Rock 'N Roll dance music. What the hell is the go with the Rock 'N Roll dancing and dresses? This movie was set in present time not the 1950s.
You're right and wrong about it being in set in the 1950s. Remember that it is being told by the girl played by Winona Ryder (Kim) when she's an old woman. So, the main part of the film very well could have been even before the 1950's. Either that or we're in the future when she's telling the story. I find the architecture of the suburban area to agree with it possibly set in the 1990's, we'll never know.
I saw it, surprised with no live music!! And don't think th story has its original impact as in the movie. Well made stage production though. Media did not like it , it only got 6 out of 10 from Sun Herald, 3.5 out of 5 from Telegraph.
I LOVED this! i saw it yesterday it was BRILLIANT BRILLIANT BRILLIANT!!!! b4 i saw it i thought "no ones gonna be able to pull off edward like Johnny Depp did" but matthew malthouse reallly did! he was such a great actor I enjoyed this SO much and i want to see it again!
omg i met the cast for edward scissor hands and i got chatted up as well! by the main characters.. i am so dam star struck now that u wud not believe...like i cnt even believe it... LOL

i watched it at the Opera House and it was amazing theatre, breathtaking more like it.
I loved how it was different- was surprising, no dialogue had such an effect!

hey neworderarmy they didnt do the normal story coz it would just be boring we would all be like yep seen it ok and ofcourse the music was like that derr this movie came out in 1990 ok so go look at ur history books this was at the opera house so i dont think they would put something as crap as u describe it in one of the biggest theaters ok so go get a life this was beautiful

Overrated.
About 10 minutes max of the actual original Danny Elfman music. The rest of the 80 minutes is all Rock 'N Roll dance music. What the hell is the go with the Rock 'N Roll dancing and dresses? This movie was set in present time not the 1950s.
Saw it at the Opera House, Sydney Australia.
