At the end of the day when the entire band changes you just need to see that the problem wasn't from just one side. I think many people fail to see and understand that.
That naturally got them to make the music they already made. Moody did a lot of writing for Fallen and composed a lot of stuff with Hodges and Lee,so I don't see how he is copying something he created. The inception and idea of this band was because of Ben Moody.
Fact 7. he left the band and took not money or anything.He gave away the 50 percent of shares that he had with the brand of "Evanescence" without any conflicts. That means he basically did not take any of the cash nothing,when he left.
Fact4. Both Amy and Ben had an equal hand in writing the album and so did David Hodges with all the string arrangements and stuff. Fact5. Ben left the band so that Evanescence continues. Fact 6. John Lecompt and Rocky Gray had been in the band ever since Fallen got completed and gave a lot of time to the band. They were fired without any reason or any hint of such an action. Fact 6. 3 guys that have played in a multiplatinum band previously are the same people and their influences are similar.
It's hilarious how you kids bash these guys. Fact 1. If it weren't for Ben Moody finding Amy and forming the band there would be no Evanescence. Fact 2. A lot of orchestral choir stuff on Fallen was done by David Hodges,have you guys forgotten his big contribution. He left when it was time to tour due to some conflicts. I am glad Ben and David still collaborate on stuff. Fact 3. Ben Moody's dedication and maxing out his credit cards to buy gear was a big contribution to Fallen.

Yeah, I agree they sound specifically like the vocalist is honing in on Amy Lee's vocal tendencies, even thought she might not be exactly compatible. It's a conscious act to topple Amy Lee, 'cuz what do all the members(maybe except the vocalist) have in common? They all HATE AMY LEE, THEY HATE HER! I heard she get's upset with a guitarist for not having the right sounds, so basically, she wanted to take complete creative control. She still sounds good though.
I don't think I can ever see this band being very successful.
If they don't want to be mistaken for Evanescence, then they'll have to stop falling back on songs from the Fallen album. Yes fair enough, Ben collaborated and wrote "My Immortal", but no one will ever get over the fact that those will always be Evanescence songs.

When Ben wrote the first evanescence album it sold 14 million copies world wide ... when he left the next evanescence album Amy wrote only sold just over 3 million. I think Ben wins this one.

Evanescence's Fallen sound it's from Amy and Ben. Evanescence's The Open Door it's Amy and Terry sound. Evanescence's new self titled album it's the whole group sound, they are now a REAL band.

@MsBeautyLocks I actually did know that asshole, Rocky helped in the drums of the song Understanding of Evanescence EP in 1998 but although he was a friend of Amy and Ben he wasn't officially in the band until they needed more musicians to be an official band then they both Jhon and Rocky entered the band rocky gave them the song Tourniquet and Jhon helped in 2 songs one is Taking Over Me, the other one is Forever You that song didn't made the cut in the Pre-Fallen Demo (nov 2002)
Ben's just mad that Amy didnt keep him on Evanescence and she married someone else. Its a case of Jealousy. As far as Carly goes, she respects if not is slightly terriefied my how much better Amy is to her. As far as my views on both bands, I'm neutral but Iprefer Evanescence old and new.
Now as for this Carly person, I really think she looks like her own self and not a copy of Amy Lee. I don't think they look alike at all and from what I've seen, their style is very different and so is their voice. So I really don't understand why people compare them. The only thing I think they have in common is their complexion but in that case then Amy could as well be a copy of Tarja Turunen or Anne Nurmi... Nonsense.
Not a fan of Evanescence. Two days ago I just happened to listen to an old Ev song, sounded better than I remembered, listened to other songs and googled them to learn more. So I learn that these former members have a new band, listened to their album and I really don't get what all the fuss is about. I agree with Ben when he says it's weird for people to expect them to sound different. Had Amy left Ev to begin a new band, would you ask that of her? I don't see why can't people like them both.

Here's an interview where Amy says the EXACT same thing Ben said about Fallen. She says she wasn't as mature of a writer as she was only 16 when the writing for fallen took place and she never listens to fallen anymore because of that.

I love both of these bands, both make great music although the comparisons are being made that most of we are the fallen's music does bear a striking resemblance to that of evanescences' early albums, the problem people have with this band isnt that they are super similar to early evanescence, it is that they continously deny it, i mean you have to be deaf not to hear it, if your gonna make similar music do it and dont deny it, once again love the bands hate the drama behind them.
I don't think anybody will ever truly know what happened behind the scenes with the whole Amy/Ben fallout and I guess it doesn't matter all that much. They're both fantastic musicians and I think Ben has a genuine point here. All three of them had an impact in creating the sound of Evy (Rocky and John even during The Open Door era) so We Are the Fallen would sound similar in some respects. As an Evy fan I'm loving the fact that we now have two bands. It could all have ended in 2003 after all.
lol Carly's voice is nothing like Amy's - AT ALL! It's very rough and quite pop-like. Amy was classically trained, and for the most part, has a very clear, powerful voice.
I totally agree with everything Ben said in this interview - they were most of Evanescence (when 'Fallen' was made) so there are going to be similarities, but Ev has changed. Bands do, music evolves. And they are very different bands. I'm not a fan of WATF, but I think people really need to listen to what they say here.

These guys are eventually just gonna fade away. The music just isn't good enough. Carly's voice isn't really suited to the kind of rock they're playing. And Ben, honestly, I never much liked the songs he mostly wrote for Evanescence. He didn't write many of the lyrics, that was Amy. She wrote most of the lyrics, most of the melodies, and Ben kind of finished it off. This is why Evanescence has been successful without Ben, and Ben hasn't been that successful without them.

I love Evanescence but Its not the same anymore. The first album Fallen was amazing. I fell in love with the band instantly after that. The open door I wasnt to fond of. to me it went in a different direction from their first album. the new album coming out I do like. It sounds alittle like it use to but alittle more up beat. what I'm saying is the first album hands down was the best and it was all because of the band not just Amy lee.

According to Ben "by the holidays you’ll have a live dvd, live cd, cover EP, original EP…. and a few surprises still to come." You should get your facts right. :)

Fact4. Both Amy and Ben had an equal hand in writing the album and so did David Hodges with all the string arrangements and stuff. Fact5. Ben left the band so that Evanescence continues. Fact 6. John Lecompt and Rocky Gray had been in the band ever since Fallen got completed and gave a lot of time to the band. They were fired without any reason or any hint of such an action. Fact 6. 3 guys that have played in a multiplatinum band previously are the same people and their influences are similar.

A lot of orchestral choir stuff on Fallen was done by David Hodges,have you guys forgotten his big contribution. He left when it was time to tour due to some conflicts. Yeah, I agree they sound specifically like the vocalist is honing in on Amy Lee's vocal tendencies, even thought she might not be exactly compatible. It's a conscious act to topple Amy Lee, 'cuz what do all the members(maybe except the vocalist) have in common? They all HATE AMY LEE, THEY HATE HER! @MsBeautyLocks I actually did know that asshole, Rocky helped in the drums of the song Understanding of Evanescence EP in 1998 but although he was a friend of Amy and Ben he wasn't officially in the band until they needed more musicians to be an official band then they both Jhon and Rocky entered the band rocky gave them the song Tourniquet and Jhon helped in 2 songs one is Taking Over Me, the other one is Forever You that song didn't made the cut in the Pre-Fallen Demo (nov 2002)

So I learn that these former members have a new band, listened to their album and I really don't get what all the fuss is about. I love both of these bands, both make great music although the comparisons are being made that most of we are the fallen's music does bear a striking resemblance to that of evanescences' early albums, the problem people have with this band isnt that they are super similar to early evanescence, it is that they continously deny it, i mean you have to be deaf not to hear it, if your gonna make similar music do it and dont deny it, once again love the bands hate the drama behind them.

I don't think anybody will ever truly know what happened behind the scenes with the whole Amy/Ben fallout and I guess it doesn't matter all that much. They're both fantastic musicians and I think Ben has a genuine point here. All three of them had an impact in creating the sound of Evy (Rocky and John even during The Open Door era) so We Are the Fallen would sound similar in some respects. As an Evy fan I'm loving the fact that we now have two bands. It could all have ended in 2003 after all.

lol Carly's voice is nothing like Amy's - AT ALL! It's very rough and quite pop-like. Amy was classically trained, and for the most part, has a very clear, powerful voice.
I totally agree with everything Ben said in this interview - they were most of Evanescence (when 'Fallen' was made) so there are going to be similarities, but Ev has changed. Bands do, music evolves. And they are very different bands. I'm not a fan of WATF, but I think people really need to listen to what they say here.

These guys are eventually just gonna fade away. The music just isn't good enough. Carly's voice isn't really suited to the kind of rock they're playing. And Ben, honestly, I never much liked the songs he mostly wrote for Evanescence. He didn't write many of the lyrics, that was Amy. She wrote most of the lyrics, most of the melodies, and Ben kind of finished it off. This is why Evanescence has been successful without Ben, and Ben hasn't been that successful without them.

Ben Moody FORMED Evanescence, if Ben Hadn't approached Amy one day while she was playing the piano their would be no Evanescence in the first place! That's all I ever hear... I try to keep far away from their interviews cause they're
rubbish (The interviews) but anytime I go watch one it's the same "We are not Evanescence, we're different" horseshit... It's like who are you trying to convince XD Amy never talks about them, she did once when she got asked about it, back in 2010 I think... Evanescence is such a better band now, without Ben... They've hugely evolved!

No dear friend, surely they don't have as successful career as Evanescence right from the start, but they have been touring all this time. They did not fail in anything. And they are also preparing a new album.
But anyway, why don't we enjoy both bands ? They are both great, they are special.

@rayanalhakami We Are The Fallen didn't fail after their first single, they switched record labels, Ben wrote TWO solo EP's and the band has been very busy. According to Ben "by the holidays you’ll have a live dvd, live cd, cover EP, original EP…. and a few surprises still to come." You should get your facts right. :)

@cristhian758 Eh who gives a damn. Amy does the lyrics for most of the songs. She does piano and other instruments. She IS Evanescence. Her and the band already came out with the video to What You Want. I heard the song and a few samples of the other ones. Still sounds like Evanescence. Probably because...Hmm idk, It's fucking Amy Lee. Ha >.>

Evanescence is WAAAAAAY better, if you didn't know that. I hate "watf" but Carly isn't mean. It's Ben that's the mean one. He just seems kind of ungrateful towards Ev and all the fame and sucess that he has been given through that. even though Carly rolls her eyes in interviews, and sometimes she dosen't give "American Idol" enough credit (I don't live in the us anyway, but If i did, i wouldn't watch that trash) Anyways...
