  • anyone know why they play this in A on the album its G obviousley they transposed it.i wonder why

  • Male tears were spilled. Thing just got serious.

  • Today in 1969 is when was published "Led Zeppelin I"...i'm think about if that never happened...i think that today music wouldn't exist

  • cant believe how people can make judgement over the internet, flippant remarks of legends,i agree with BiancoProductions, heck!,,taking them 4 granted,,desensitized?,,ohh well, its their loss, still learning,,beautiful lullaby!,,sweet jimmy!

  • : Happy Birthday Jimmy, We Love You ❤

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The 50 people who disliked this song are either tone deaf or have no idea what REAL music sounds like!

  • @BiancoProductions 51 morons

  • Im sorry for my def generation that believes that listen to music.

  • @543luciana sad but true

  • Goosebumps......

  • 240p of joy

  • why there is no "Like 500 000 times" button???

  • Getting high on this song, idk gave me a deeper understanding on life..N Lep Zepplin is that damn good to be able to that affect.

  • Jimmy Page! You are the cooolest! wow...wow love my Led Zeppelin.

  • don't get me wrong i love zeppelin but whenever they play live plant always ruins it alittle bit for me. he improvises to much with the melodies and the lyrics. and i dont no why they decided to raise this song a whole tone, it sounds like he's straining his voice to hit those high notes, if they played it in d like on the album it would have suited his voice just fine.

  • @persbol

That was the beauty of Zeppelin live, every show was different, with the music constantly changing. I think you'd actually have to see them live to understand. Watching them on a video is nothing compared to actually seeing them. They raised it a whole tone due to the tuning on the guitar. By raising it, they would only have to re-tune 2 strings on Page's guitar, which saved alot of trouble, since it had to be put back in standard later for Stairway.

  • @AllysWorld05 i kno its easier but i just thought with their money he mite have a guitar tuned and ready for the next song, i do see your point though, you'll never really experience a band live til you see them with your own eyes

  • @persbol

its not like there was a factory producing those Gibson Double Necks. Back then, they were on custom order, and why have another guitar when you have a guitar tech to do the re-tune. And believe me Page did and does have the money to afford another guitar. Last time I heard, he had 2000 guitars.

  • @persbol Plant was having a problem with his voice around that time due to an upper respiratory infection. That's probably why. You can hear it breaking up on the high notes.

  • @Cubbys69 no actually it was because at the end of the 1973 tour he damaged his vocal chords so after the tour he got surgery, it altered his voice and he had constant problems singing in the 75 tour

  • @LedHead747 that's the thing with plant, he had a great voice but he didn't know how to sing properly with his diaphragm, that's why he damaged his vocal chords.still doesn't change the fact that he wrote great melodies and lyrics, and that zeppelin is one of the greatest bands ever

  • Probably the best chord progression ever

  • i have a bunch of cd's with them live and it's such amazing footage. it's almost too much to handle.

    sorry i have bragging rights.

  • I play this song when it rains sometimes. its just cool to listen to it and watch the rain fall through my window. Such an awesome song. I wish I could've been alive to see them live in those days. I hate my generations music so much. Fuckin pop bullshit nowadays.

  • Simply,

    Amazing

  • i think jimi page violated the coke in that concert he was sweating bullets

  • Did you know this? watch?v=gXJfV6KXNAg

  • @Tony63909 absolutely amazing song

  • @Tony63909 most underrated song ?? Al the people i know love this classic!!

  • @Tony63909 it's the song that made me want to learn how to play the guitar, and it's the song I will forever remember of learning how to play it, how I felt every chord of it for the first time, how the emotion was thought by Jimmy in every little sound that makes this music.

  • @sericastor That joke stopped being funny years ago.

  • now i prefer this version more than the madison square garden cause in msg there is a cool movie of robert plant but i cant really see the right chords page is using instead of just figuring them out by ear in this song to learn them :)

  • These mutha fuckas r why a black man listens 2 rock

  • I blasted the studio version of this (from the 1973 "Houses of the Holy" album) on the freeway, on the rainy predawn ride home from work, even rolling down the windows and letting the droplets bounce onto me. I've been a Led Zeppelin fan since I was 15 years old, and this is one of a handful of their songs that still sends chills up my spine and gives me goosebumps. True classic . . . and then as soon as the song was over I turned down the volume and rolled up the windows. :3

  • Is it a Mellotron that Jonesy is using? Does anyone know?

  • @bluesboy68 It was in the recording at least. :P

  • @bluesboy68 Yes, it is.

  • @bluesboy68 : A Mellotron - yes :-)

  • jimmy page is best rock guitar player of all time. sungha jung is the best over all guitar player of all time...check it out and thumbs up if you agree. i love page though..

  • In the original recording page played the song in Open G tuning but what tuning is he using in this one because to me it sounds like standard and when i play it in standard it sounds like this.

  • @cybercop112 He leaves all the strings in standard, but tunes the G up to A and the B up to D so it's one step higher than the album tuning (Open Page).

  • @cybercop112 it's not standard...it's one step up higher than the tuning the alblum version was cut

  • how can four people sound like a whole orchestra?

    amazing.

  • @DominikJemec

Talent, sure, but electronics, dude, for sure !

  • @DominikJemec John Paul Jones synths

  • @DominikJemec Keyboard

  • @DominikJemec yes it is amazing :)

and to answer your question (which was clearly rhetorical in the first place) i believe its called SKILLZ lmao

  • @3xaVioN Lot of skills :))) Led Zeppelin are the best band ever. No one came close to them and no one will. EVER!

  • @DominikJemec Led Zeppelin do not sound like a whole orchestra.

A whole orchestra sounds like Led Zeppelin.

  • @Gazer794 haha good call

  • @Gazer794 That Mellotron was and i think still is an amazing machine i think a tape loop machine with keys a few switches to pay tape in different speeds to get diff instruments sounds did that make sense? i hope ',^}

  • @jakebarrett

Some things aren't worth doing just to survive...

  • This is from TSRST not from Earls Court

  • plant is so affected and fake..i can't stomach him

  • Golliwogg APPROVES of this song.

  • This piece of music in 1975 beats 99% of current music. Soul, melody, passion, voice... unbelievable. I totally agree that we are living in a time full of trash music.

  • @hegelff Compare this to rap !

  • Comment removed

  • @TheNike5926 u made laugh

  • @hegelff I agree, this music flows through your mind + body and makes your soul tingle : ) xx

  • Sono nata con 40 anni di ritardo. Musicalmente, per lo meno.

  • Led Zepplin with you forever

  • Best. Song. Ever.

  • @winorth Close, but 'Since I've been lovin you' rates it.

  • I wonder if half of the faces Page makes when he plays are to get sweat out of this mouth/eyes :D

This song made me learn to play guitar. The family loves when I play this on summer nights.

  • the one reason i want a time machine is to go to this concert

  • 5:20 I didnt know Plant could even go that deep..

  • It was the best time to be young. I was growing up listening to LZ at the age of 12. Saw them in 73. All the musician of that time are the best. The music made with passion and real instruments. There are some real good groups today, tho, as well.

  • just learned how to play the song last night, after more than a year.
