  • we share this story often with our children at The Blossom Nursery - and still love it!

  • im so hungry now!

  • jesus this brings back memories

  • Well maybe if he ever flippin' finished anything he started he wouldn't BE so hungry!

  • I found a caterpillar in my house and slowly whispered this song into its tiny ear, imagining the horror and torture i was about to bring it... Then it looked up at me and it said "Take me away from all this" So i tied him very gently to a helium balloon and sent him floating away to oblivion. Now i sit and think why did i send him away? He was the only one who talked to me in days, and was actually nice and now hes gone. Im so ****in bummed right now.

  • @pyromanizak :( I'm sorry

  • I honestly forgot about this until my 3 month old son received some pjs that had the caterpillar on it and under it said, "but he was still hungry" I almost cried.

  • Is there a higher quality version of this somewhere? I'm doubting it because I know it's old... but I really really love it. :')

  • @MsPandaProduction Any luck on finding a better quality version of this? I'd gladly pay for one if there was.

  • I remember this popular story when I was a kid and read it all the time. One year in school an amazing thing I learned was that moths come out of cocoons not butterflies. Butterflies come out of crysilisis.

  • Dude i haven't seen this since I was a kid this story is awesome :)

  • @QueenWaterLily Neither have I

  • I LOVED THIS BOOK WHEN I WAS SMALL!I remember elementary school had an Eric Carle week; the teachers designed a lesson based around him. (We counted all the food he ate in math, we read the book in reading, and we learned the stages of the caterpillar in science.) In art we made the Eric Carle collage, I have an internship with a local art store...and tomorrow I'm helping them teach 7-11 year olds the style of Eric Carle. It's a wonder how stories like this are passed down to different children.

  • This short deals with greed, obesity, rebirth, the beauty of everyone around you and also teaches you about the cocoon stages of the caterpillar.

  • good job i love this book and u made it come alive for me thx:)

  • Other than the tom and pippo books which where my favourite when I was a kid, I love this story! And as I'm about to become a mum myself, at 24, I'm painting my nursery in hungry caterpillar! Something a little different! Love this story!

It says it doesn't matter what you are, fat, thin, small, big you'll always end up a beautiful in the end! Such a good moral to teach kids these days!
