CFLs are like flourescant tubes. The most current is drawn during ionising the gas, after that they are quite effecient providing you can get the voltage up enough to keep the gas ionised.
Superb and very fast results on this amazing Radiant Oscillator creation from Imhotep and Shiva. Can't wait to build one, then go camping... hello? where's all that fantastic energy coming from?
Good. The 9 volt relay works but is very hard to keep stable. A 555 circuit to trigger the coils would be nice if it can be made to produce the same results.
I'm just getting caught up with what you're doing with this circuit (thanks Ash!). It appears that this system is resonating nicely. The neos over the relay coil - mini Bedini eh? ha! It's great! I've got everything but the little 4.7 @ 160v cap, the second coil and the rheostat. Radio Shack here in Houston doesn't carry the inventory it once did. Your videos are excellent and very detailed. Thanks! - best regards, Luther
A little hint about the capacitor: The cap will block a DC signal but allow an AC signal to propagate. I can't really give you any specifics because there is no schematic, but one way or the other the addition of the cap is allowing an AC signal to pass through it, and somehow that AC signal results in a more powerful driving signal for the CFL bulb.
Tesla would be very impressed, especially at your open source spirit. Thanks allot lidmotor i wish every one would do Video's like you do very inspiring. sincerely Ash
Thanks Ash, There is a BBC video series called "Connections" that traces technology history with the slant that most things that have been invented lay dormant until something or someone makes the invention really usable. I think that Tesla would be very happy with what is happening now.
NICE find on the Capacitor!. I think I know why you got the full spectrum bulb he he :) 100 watt... man i am wondering why i don't see any flicker on your bulb? Wild that it does not seem to pull any current when you turn it off.
can you close the loop by setting the solar panel under the CFL?

the bulb is really just an "added feature" to the circuit...that cap makes all the difference!

Best to ask Imhotep, Shiva, and Dr. Peter Lindemann that question. It works. Today I started building a boxed up version to use on my boat.

Great thinking with the Capacitor and bulb idea. I'm going to implement it now. Just need to get hold of a rheostat now.
Awesome work !!!

BBC Channel is full of bullshit! It falsificated near all what happened in Osetia and Abhazia. They falsificated all! What and assholes!
But your project is very impressive! Im now starting make some simple Water Batteries, because still can't get all Newman Motor parts together :(

Guess what is going to be sitting in front of the CFL when it gets dark tonight.
