Hang on a second. Didache older than the new testament? The catholic papal system was founded(erroneously) on the new testament writing that Jesus, when talking about the rock on which he will build his church, was referring to Peter. I'm no fan of the catholic church, but someone hasn't got their facts straight. Secondly the catholic church are amateurs in the child abuse business. The big players are CPS and dyncorp. Stupid pedophiles hide in bushes near schools, smart ones join CPS.

Peter, according to scripture, was not to even be found in Rome, this has been nothing but fanciful myth perpetrated by the RC Church.

@Jamus955i No. Jesus said, referring to Peters confession that Jesus was the Son of God(Mt 16;18), that this central truth was the rock on which he would (and has) build his church. The catholics somehow managed to distort this to mean Jesus was referring to Peter rather than what Peter said, and therefore regard him as the first pope. (He said it the way he did because 'peter' means small stone).

@Jamus955i As if it wasn't obvious enough, Paul confirms "The Rock is Christ"(1 Cor 10;4). Paul was apostle to the gentiles, there is nothing in his writings from the canon of scripture that remotely describes anything like the establishment of the cath. ch. though I'm sure the vatican could come up with some document of dubious origin, claiming it to be Paul's, that would support their claim. Any more questions?

@1enzeder My clarification was that whilst Peter was never accounted as being in Rome, Paul was activelly involved in the Christian movement there.

And Yes I am agreeing with you on the twisting of Matthew that has been used to regard Peter as being the first Pope.

I am sorry, but the Catholic church is a "baptised" paganistic organisation. There can be no reconciliation between their teachings and the bible and teachings of Jesus. God loves the Catholic people and calls them out of this wicked institution. The sex scandals are in every church but especially so here. The church teaches that the church have never erred nor can it, including the pope, so why would they admit wrong? They will not.
