  • ... and who knows how many universes there may be. All of it is breathtakingly astonishing, but words really are inadequate the describe it all.

  • how can we see the comic micowave background when we were within it at the time should the light from it be 13 some billions of years away from us by now so they say when the big bang happen?

  • @tony5w I'll try my best to explain. The cosmic background radiation comes from the time when the universe cooled down enough that light/radiation can "seen" because they can now move freely through space. This happen really early after the big bang, so the universe was relatively small. Small universe mean small distance that light has to travel, we can "see' the cosmic radiation. Its only now, given that the universe is so old, and space has been expanding that its 46 bils lightyears away.

  • @tony5w cont. Space isn't expanding at the same rate everywhere.in space. The further away from us, the faster space is expanding. Because the background radiation is almost as old as the universe, 13 billion yrs old now, its been traveling away from us for all that time. The further out it is traveled, the faster it traveled. I don't know the exact math, but thats why they got the distance of 46 billion lightyears from us when the background radiation is only around 13 billion yrs old.

  • @Judas 1of2 at first, i thought it was a picture looking in to the center of the universe.

then i look more in to it and starting to understand what is it meant by cosmic background

radiation. they look outward back to the past in all direction but my question still end up

    the same.

  • @Judas 2of2 we should not be detecting these light ray in lest it is reflecting off of

something because these rays should be on the outer layer of the big bang going one way

outward and the only way we be able to see it if we travel out pass that. well, that is

what it seem like to me.

  • "enormous explosion"??, doesnt this give wrong idea, more like "enormous inflation".

  • "The universe in itself was created in a enormous explosion some 13.7 billion years ago..." It's still amazes me that we think we have it all figured out about how everything came into being. No one has an idea where the explosion came from. If the universe was created out of nothing... What caused the explosion???

  • @djmagee00 Indeed no one know how was the universe created. M-Theory can explain the creation of the universe, but we won't have proof that the theory is correct in our lifetime. Here's a really great talk from Lawrence Krauss on the subject "a universe from nothing"

  • XLNT video.

  • In order for the universe to expand faster than the speed of light or even at the speed of light that would mean it had no mass so what am I missing here?

  • @Sweetassour it is because it is space it self expanding ^_^ ...space can travel faster than light ..

  • @Sweetassour or at least ripple

  • tropickman, that might be one of the most illogical conclusions I've read. If a notion creates something, then poeple who truly believe that pigs should fly will change the physical capabilities of the pig and allow it to fly? Crazy talk.

BTW - Which god is responsible for creation? The God who corresponds the closest to reality. Because this God must have created the laws that the universe abides by. Not a hard concept. Unlike a huge bang creating a universe. again... crazy depressing talk

  • Without humans to think up the notion of God, no such notion would have existed. Since the universe has been around long before humans, and long before humans had the mental capacity to imagine the notion of God, we conclude, with all certainty, that the notion of God is not responsible for anything tangible. BTW, which God is responsible for it all? We know that people have been fighting since the beginning of this notion to prove to one another that their God is the real one!

  • @whatyouchating He commanded it and it happened. Read Genesis 1. Your the one who believes in magic (making a bunny rabbit appear out of nothing).

  • @psycofloyd wanker

  • @heavypizza Wanker? Aww c'mon you can do better than that :)

  • @whatyouchating better than yours :/

  • @whatyouchating Hes not a magic man in the sky. Your ignorance is astounding. He didn't come from anything. Thats what it means to have always existed. You DO realize that right?

  • they talk about a flawed theory as if it's a given, anyone can tell they are trying desperately to link what they have known to the unknown, what a sadness

  • Did the narrator really say "nucular"?

  • The difference is what caused space, time and matter from nothingness.

  • Space is Time you idiot!!

  • There wasn't absolutely nothing. However, there was a false vacuum that created everything (according to the concept). The false vacuum didn't move, it was still. The vacuum was also an equilibrium. Therefore, the false vacuum was static. The difference in the static and absolute nothing was conjugate yet related. This is the equivalent of a 45 degree angle ('A' and '-A' are opposite, 180 degrees; 'A' and 'B' are different, 90 degrees) which forms 8 angles around in a sphere, 12 particles.

  • The sad part is they do know what their saying. Only that it's all wrong!! And calculations don't add up. And arguments are too strong. But their still speaking! And still bringing forth!! Their so into what their doing that they ignore the fact they don't even understand what the heck dark matter is!!

  • Something cannot come from nothing. In fact this violates the conservation of energy. The universe is an outcome of an event that occurred before the singularity. The Big Bang is the event that occurred. So what's the cause of the Big Bang? Well, the cause of the Big Bang is simply the collision of two rippling parallel 3 dimensional membranes which created the matter in the universe i.e. galaxies, solar systems, planets, computers, humans, etc. Our universe is one out of many universes.

  • @FallofDarkness55 what caused the many universes? is it safe to say there are infinitely many causes?

  • @maxgunn555 if you want to know the answer to that question, you'll have to take the red pill my friend. in other words research this concept...M-THEORY!

  • @FallofDarkness55 You fail to realize the existence of virtual particles. Something can come from "nothing".

  • @roboticsynapse Firstly, I never did believe in M-theory! I used to accept it because it used to make sense to me. M-theory is also not a proper theory of physics. Right now I accept that our universe could be inside a black hole from a parent universe. This might be a radical idea but at least this theory is acceptable by the mere fact that we know black holes exist. Secondly quantum mechanical physics is conserved so essentially the virtual particles you speak of have always existed.

  • @FallofDarkness55 So the reason you believe in a universe being in a black hole is because they exist? As for something coming from nothing, this could be the case if the universe was within a vacuum. Anyway, none of these theories have adequate evidence to support them. Also, until we are able to be able to test them or falsify them, we cannot test them. M-theory lacks this testability that is why I don't support it as a theory either.

  • @FallofDarkness55 Watch "A Universe From Nothing by Lawrence Krauss to understand more about a universe that could have came from nothing. It has nothing to do with M-theory.

  • mmmmm... flavoured quarks.

  • I big banged your mom.

  • So in Conclusion not one person here could defend the big bang! Not one soul could while everyone else here ASSUMED this "expert" in the video to be right. Sad that logic has been thrown out of the window in this day! I will leave you with this:

    1 Timothy 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils. Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

  • @psycofloyd The simple fact that galaxies are moving away from each other demonstrates that they all came from one point. There for the big bang. Also the cosmic background radiation confirms how matter was first dispersed in the early universe. But then again this is knowledge and creationist fucktards never spend the time learn about science. Better keep with your flat earth theory and majic man done it beliefs. What a waste of human potential to be brainwashed by religion.

  • @29Gixxer But how does nothing explode and make anything? I wanna know real bad! Please tell me! Pleeeeeeaaaaaase!

  • @29Gixxer The illusion of reality? Does that mean to abandon logic and accept whatever you "the experts" tell you? Bzzz! Wrong answer! I have to live in reality man I ain't got time to dream up illusions. NOTHING CANT EXPLODE AND MAKE ANYTHING LET ALONE EVERYTHING! THAT'S FAIRY TALE MAGIC!

  • @29Gixxer Haha the pope isn't a christian! The bible forbids just about everything Catholics do so bah bad argument only goes to show your ignorance of scripture! And I'm not trying to convert you! I'm trying to teach you to count. If you cant do that then there's no way you could even begin to understand the bibles truths. So please explain to me HOW NOTHING EXPLODED AND MADE EVERYTHING!

  • @FallofDarkness55 I'M RIGHT!? WOW! You just disproved the BIG BANG! You realize that? Good job. You also proved the existence on God while you were at it! I'm getting a Ph.D. too *wink wink*

  • Comment removed

  • @FallofDarkness55 0+0=0 he's trying to say that there was nothing (0) before the big bang, then how did the big bang start. all there was was 0 which is NOTHING, literally. so, however many times you add up 0, it will always be 0. However many timess you add up NOTHING it would always be NOTHING, there literally is no other explanation of what caused the big bang, other than God.

  • Comment removed

  • @FallofDarkness55 The laws of physics and our understanding of it do not reflect the presence of God. Or any other majical thing. Majic is not required to explain nature. An because we do not know yet how these laws and forces where initiated you do not need to label it majic. It's just unknown for the time being.

  • @FallofDarkness55

    Incorrect.

One theory out there lends an answer to that question. To keep things simple, think of a black hole. Yes, they do exist; it has been proven. Now, as matter and antimatter enter a black hole, they are compacted together under intense gravity. But think of it like a drain; after awhile, it needs somewhere to go. It is suggested that these collections are then shot out on the other side, creating a "big bang" so to speak.

  • Comment removed

  • @FallofDarkness55 As with any topic in Science, there is always the possibility that there is another explanation. Though I agree with your suggestion of worm holes, I must disagree that there is no evidence to support Black Holes. Perhaps the greatest evidence is that of quasars; the direct result of black holes. Though I admit, I find your suggestion of "heaven" being another plane of the universe. =D

  • Comment removed

  • @FallofDarkness55 u call it infinite universe.. but ever realized that its basically because of ur limit to size?

an ant might consider the earth as a seperate universe?

if so the human "universe" for an ant is heaven? because its outside their knowledge?

  • Comment removed

  • @FallofDarkness55 Also, with the Black Hole theory, time does, essentially, stop. As an object nears the Event Horizon (edge of a black hole) time itself begins to slow as it falls into itself. Thus, your Heavenly Realm can be explained thusly. Am I saying this is, for sure, the explanation for it? No. It is merely another train of thought.

  • @FallofDarkness55

u said time doesnt exist in heaven?

tell me how u know of this?

point me to ONE MAN alive who has been there n back?

and DONT QUOTE ME A PROPHET

ever realized PROPHETS lived back when ppl were uneducated but how ironic there isnt any prophet alive in this modern era of science n education

i was in a coma my friend... and as for ur 10mins death and travel to heaven/hell n back cud also be due to a malfunctioned monitors..

there are soo many stories on that thing google it

i been in coma myself two months ago... never been taken for a ride to hell/heaven tho :P

as for the "heaven is eternal" thing... well you're just quoting textbook stuff here.. somethin off ur holy book which is also written by a human being ;)

An because we do not know yet how these laws and forces where initiated you do not need to label it majic. It's just unknown for the time being. And cosmologist dont say there was nothing. They say that there is no point in taking about time before the big bang cause we have no way of measuring it.

  • @FallofDarkness55 Explain please :)

  • @29Gixxer You should Google the 40 million year old petrified cowboy boots! Carbon dating is the funniest thing I've ever came across!

  • @Deadandlivin and you understand how nothing became everything right? Teach me how to make a big mac appear out of nothing please I'm dying to know how that "science" works :D

  • @psycofloyd Logic, science and truth arent subject to your ability to comprehend them. Just because you dont understand how something can create itself doesnt mean it cannot.

And the fact is, things do create and annihilate themselves constantly. Its very complicated math and science. Whether this happens or not doesnt depend on whether you understand it. Its observable and demonstrable. The failure to accept it is your own.

  • @drainville1 Fine hide behind "the complexity" that you know isn't there and keep believing that we can make big macs appear out of nothing! Playing the idiot doesn't prove the big bang nor atheism in general!

  • @psycofloyd Not only is the "complexity" there, its falsifiable. There are things you can do to prove the heisenberg uncertainty principle wrong. If you say its not there, thats simple laziness, because you could do work to disprove it.

To make it as simple as possible, energy can be "borrowed" as long as its "returned" within a small amount of time, even if the energy is neutralized by another effect. Matter would be the "borrowing," neg. gravitational energy neutralizes it.

  • @29Gixxer He created us but not those things. They aren't real you know ;)

    Just like Santa :D

  • @Hikk0 It has everything to do with God not those false gods you serve!

  • @FallofDarkness55 You still haven't done anything to disprove my math.

    HE HURT MY FEELINGS!

HE ALSO SAID 0+0=0 AND THAT'S NOT TRUE!!!!!

  • @FallofDarkness55 Insulting me doesn't prove 0+0=everything

    WAHHHH!!!!!

  • @FallofDarkness55 Wow I got you to give up. Perhaps you are on the way to recovery! I suggest you start with basic arithmetic and go from there. The way math works is once you understand something like, say, 0+0=0 you move onto something like say 6-4=2

Trust me your a long way from understanding the bible but you got to start somewhere :)

  • Comment removed

  • @FallofDarkness55 But wait, something cannot form out of nothing. That's MAGIC. Explain how this MAGIC occurs please :)

  • Comment removed

  • @FallofDarkness55 Nice covert insult there. I think I cracked your atheist shell a bit. To say we are ignorant of all this is to deny the purpose of scripture and thus deny Christianity as a whole. Its all connected for a reason you know. We have a world that is full of truth. The problem is "free thinkers" don't like that truth because its hurts their philosophy. They are cowards in that sense. What I showed was a simple equation and people hate me for it because of its truth.

  • Comment removed

  • @psycofloyd

Wrong. 0+0 =/= 1; therefore, something did not always exist.

    But there are special cases.

    0 = 1 + (-1) ; Matter and anti-matter.

  • @DeadlyDreamerX LRN2MATH KTHXBAI!

  • @psycofloyd You understood nothing of the video, and if you have a theory, you have to prove it, it is not the job of others to try and disprove your wild gooses

  • @sylvanha You have the theory. Stop running from the truth. It will only make you hate the truth even more. Try counting to 3 okay? Something always existed.

  • @psycofloyd The answer you invented from yourself id some Bible God as if it were the only possible solution in the incredibly long list of delusions I could make up. Maybe the Norse were right, you have no proofs your myth is true. Mythology has been created long ago to try and explain physical phenomenons like thunder or the origin of life. If the most probable and logical explanation is denied, then you must prove why it is false and why a new theory is better. "I just know" doesn't cut it...

  • With all the evidence acquired, it has become as futile to try rejecting the Big bang as it would be to do so with evolution, relativity or the atom

  • @sylvanha What is this evidence you speak of? Use it prove atheism to me please :)

  • @psycofloyd I'm not proving atheism to you, personal beliefs have nothing to do with facts. I don't know what faith you have, if you believe in Vishnu,Yahweh, Zeus, or Allah, or if you believe in some sentient form of energy or even in aliens. Reality exists and it is not my job to tell you how to base your beliefs on it, just as long as you don't base your reality on your beliefs. Now, open a book, start off learning about the scientific method and then learn about the evidence on those subjects

  • why is the concept of god even mentioned in this video? Leave it out of this.

  • Why are you guise rambling about God? Even atheists...

Just enjoy the science video, annoying faggots.

  • @FanaticTroll 0+0=everything is science? Prove it!

  • @psycofloyd

What is it that you're trying to say?

  • @FanaticTroll Urk uhh durk the universe formed when nothing exploded and made everything! Life originates from rock soup with a hint of lightning!

  • @psycofloyd

I wasn't trying to discuss the origin of life or the universe, rather I was pointing out how religion shouldn't be argued on a video about science unless provoked.

Why do you randomly pick verbal fights with people like some sort of drunk, steroid-pumping retard? If by an "explosion," you mean the big bang, then by definition it wasn't an explosion at all. Maybe do some research to find that it was an expansion of space from an extremely dense, low-volume point of space.

  • Is it me, or is he really saying at 4:18 "NUCULAR fusion"???

  • @VincentMeis yes, it is you

  • @chromolitho OK :D

  • You say god doesnt exist because the universe has been here forever, but what about the big bang? who or what created that?

  • @RUKUSNZ

Can't you ask the same proverbial question of God?

Why add him as an unnecessary piece to the already complex puzzle?

    If God has always existed....

Why add him to the equation again? Why can't the Universe have always existed?

  • @Territomauvais No. 0+0=huh?

  • @RUKUSNZ up to our best guesses now but atleast normal people dont conclude irrational answers for things they cant currently explain

  • @stuflikethis God is our best TRUTH! Not guess.

  • poor neutrons had to fight for their excistance :(

  • ...and nuclear should be pronounced "new clear" not "new killer", it's not even harder to say or anything.

  • @101francis101 the 'new key-ler' variant also bothers me to no end

if people can say nucleus why can't they pronounce nuclear?

  • Hahaha! Surely Quark should be pronounced "kwark" and not "cork" lol

  • mmm, "what" "is" nothing? The explosion itself presupposes space, some kind of primordial space, which defeats the whole theory. I typed "what" because the word itself presupposes matter, so is the "is." I like the explanation of the electrons, that is science, the other is mythology, similar to the Christian mythology.

  • @jesseAKAPimp You still havent solved the hole in your argument (whish is essentially the kalam, see refuting William Lane Craig or refuting the Kalam (theres lots of vids here on YT)). Also Asking someone to prove a negative (you said prove me wrong) is essentialy asking someone to divide by zero. For the lulz, try typing that into your calculator app right now. Ill wait.

  • @jesseAKAPimp your argument relies on there being a creator, and necessarily requires that "god" have a creator aswell. You cant have it both ways.

  • expansion, not explosion, an explosion implies an oxygen reaction.

  • "our father" is just a simple poem... with a nice message but with nothing to do with the universe or multiverse.

  • @Malsipots 0+0=1? Is that true? I wanna know. Is that true?

  • @lk3hjduio : Dumbass.

  • ok, before the space(our universe) was formed. there must be another space that contains our universe. otherwise, how can our universe expand? if we look at a circle as our universe, what is outside the circle?

  • faster than the speed of light? so light is not the fastest.

  • Information can't travel faster than electromagnetic waves. but inflation was not a traverse of information over space.

  • Part 1) In the middle of nothing, a corn exploded and created space, time and everything else. Is that not absurd? By what might can a non-conscious corn exist by itself, and can nothingness exist without any temperature and colour? In order to place a corn somewhere, there must exist at least an endlessness of temperature and colour, and since that endlessness is space, then space was not created by a non-conscious corn. In my christian view, not a thing was created by a non-conscious corn.

  • You make the of presuming that anything was "created". And this is unsupported. You also make the mistkae of presuming "middle of nothing". This is unsupported. And your strawman is "a corn exploded and created space". If "corn" is singularity, then... corn didn't explode. The corn expanded and IS space/time.

  • To Exmech2: Are you trying to bluff me as in poker? There is no royal flash in education, and in my use of language I prefer to be a poet rather than a scientist. The word "exploded" in my comment refers to the term Big Bang. I use the word "created" legitimately, since also science sometimes uses the term "creation" as a synonym in place of the word universe. "Middle of nothing" is a poetic expression which is not lying, since nothingness is an abstraction in which any point is its middle.

  • You're being poetic about sheer ignorance. Quaint. The Big Bang "Explosion" is a misnomer. It was an expansion. "Created" was not used legitimately. "Created", Latin: Ex. Implies a "creator". Metamorphed, Appeared, Evolved, Emerged would be legitimate. And certainly "Middle of Nothing" is sheer dishonesty. You don't know enough to call "it" anything, let alone "nothing".

  • Part 2) My spiritual experiences, the Bible´s genuine parts, and sound reasoning beyond the limitations of science, are telling me that the inevitable endlessness of temperature and colour is Conscious Divine Light, which out of its omnipresent power did create the universe 6180 years ago. The universe contains compressed time, so it looks billions of years old, and it is all surrounded by a layer of water, with which, if it is expanding, it is expanding because of God´s continuous creativity.

  • Wow. This is so full of holes it's quite pitiful.

You need an education before you should debate this further.

    lrn2reason

  • A correction of my answer to Exmech2: poetic an expression

  • And so, in essence, your "poetic description" isn't poetic at all. And certainly not a description. it is merely creationist bullshit.
