  • holy wow...

  • Is this film supposed to be like the bladerunner? never saw it but from what I know about it I can tell a lot of similar things are in the video. Ether way great idea and great video

  • Philip K. Dick woulda loved this! Well done.

  • @drsloan Thank you! That has to be one of the best comments yet!

  • As an experienced action director / cinematographer with 6 full length features under my belt, you should do a full length movie...it will be awesome. You have eyes for movie making. Much respect, keep up the good work.

  • @guguemichaels - Thank you very much! I have worked in the business as an art director for 18years but making the leap to directing is very much like a secret club. It's really difficult to get in. So I patiently wait for the opportunity. Once I get a toe in the door, I will make the most of that opportunity. Until someone shows me the secret handshake, I'll keep waiting, hoping and working. Thanks again for the comment! That means more than I can say.

  • All the short films are amazing! Congratulations!

  • lola ... it was a robotic unicorn :D

  • okay loving the short film, but whats with the unicorn reference?

i mean this is like the fifth movie i have seen to say unicorn or a guy dressed up as a unicorn, could someone please explain?

  • @TheNOWHERESVILLE -The project was called PARALLEL LINES. The film makers all had to use the same six lines of dialog issued to us. One of the lines was "it's a unicorn".

  • @freeworldconcepts thanks for explaining!

  • clever clever... all these videos have parallel lines, but all different stories.

  • Thank you very much! I'm glad you liked it!

  • Damn... now this was the best 3 minutes ever!!!!

    Great Work!!!

  • Excellent. One of my favorites in the competition.

  • @drmarvin613 - Thank you very much! It's nice to get a comment like this a year after completion. I'm glad it has impact.

    Thanks again.

  • One of the best Parallels!

  • Wanted to see more!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Awesome short film man, what camera did you use?

  • @robs912 Thank you! We shot the project on a 7D.

  • @freeworldconcepts hey bro wonderful stuff! you used some stuff from videocopilot? Where did you get all those amazing uniforms for the swat team? any place in toronto i can find these things at?

  • I have watched this film more than any of the others that entered. I have to say this by far is the best. I just found out about this whole thing yesterday. I have tried to watch the other ones but keep finding my way back here. I love your work.

  • @Jizmack Thank you so very much! I tried to make a film that not only embodied all of the books and films that fuelled my youth but also mixed with what I would want to see on a brand new philips home theater system. A story of machine that wants so badly to have what we take for granted. Life, love and happiness. When the law comes to take it all away, he fights like a machine to save it.

Thanks again for you amazing comment!!

  • Wow, very awesome. This one should've made it, but congratulations. Excellent work

  • Citizen - pick up that can! *crack*

  • WOAAAAHH..... UNBELIEVABLY WELL DONE!

  • Man, if your fight scene had to fight The Deals fight scene you'd kick its ass. Enjoyed your film. Sorry neither one of us made the top 10. Cheers

  • Outstanding.

  • One of my favorites, thought it would have been in the top 10 for sure. Great job. Very Impressive.

  • @1308films Thank you very much. I can't really say much right now as I am still feeling a little confused by some of the choices.

Thank you for your comment though. That means a lot right now.

    Richard

  • Thank you all so very much for all of your fantastic comments! A mountain of planning, a ton of hard work and some great friends. The film came together exactly as I imagined. I couldn't be happier.

    Thanks again!!

    Richard.

  • This was great!! I definitely want to see a feature of this. Like Blade Runner meets Equilibrium with a dash of Jin Roh! Awesome!!

  • well done. you have a shot in this competition.

  • Wow. Made me want to kick some cyborg ass. Hell I might just do so. After all it´s saturday :)

  • badass!!! love it!!!

  • Very well done. Great action and pace

  • Hi, you've made a incredible movie ! Yes, it's really good. There is an hight level of action. Congratulations for direction of the fighting scene. It seems realistic. I don't agree with the term of " violence". This is "action" and fight. There isn't broken' arms, extracted head, or gallons of blood. The only blood came from the androïd. (Do the androîds dreams to electric ... women ? ;) )

I love sc-fi because you can here mix action and philosophy. So, well done.

  • I'm ready to see the feature film!

  • richard-thanks–i see where you’re coming from.

written explanations to your visual work are useful. violence numbs so much of our sensibility–to use it creatively you need to help the audience along.

the ending to Peckinpah’s Straw Dogs is brutal but inevitable. the reprogamming sequence in Kubrick’s Clockwork Orange makes yone's nuts sting. there is not a gun in sight til the last seconds of Anderson’s If - though a blatant parody it works.

“when do we live? –that’s what i wanna know”

  • Love it!!

  • @szingsz: Leading the viewer down the wrong path at the beginning was an intentional misdirect. Exploring the themes of total love, helplessness, deceit, trust, protecting the ones you love.

If an artificial person began to experience human emotions would they appreciate these emotions more than we do?

I say yes. They would live their "life" to the fullest.

We take life for granted because we have always had it.

If faceless men came to tear you away from the ones you love, would you not fight?

  • Congratulations Rick et al...a fabulous flick!!

  • Love the CGI work!! Congrats and good luck to all involved.

  • This was good bro, I'd love to see it developed into a full story.

  • Cool. Loved the blood... good job to the make- up artist I say!!!
