I'm glad the USA are getting a race for F1 as it's about time they get inspired to make cars that like to go round corners and not just in straight lines. I hope F1 can gain a major fan base there but I have my doubts as Football (Soccer) never really took off.
I also have my doubts about this track being good for Moto GP, it looks a lot like Silverstone and the bikes are boring around that track.
Seems to be a lot of negative feed-back here... I think if u don't like it, watch the video again, the track I promise you it will be perfect.... Very technical, very fast, with a lot of elevation change(133ft+-). Sound good to me! 65% of the grandstand seating- you can view up to 60-80% of the track during the race. Without a doubt it WILL be the most fan friendly as well. See you guys there!!
Next Circuit.............. Circuit of the Caribbean, right by the Venezuelan Los Roques a once in life time paradise, will be just perfect for this, great circuit USA, we r sure u will make it great. good luck with it.
@beer94 Road America and Laguna Seca should both be on the NASCAR schdule. I usually only watch the NASCAR road races all the way through; those and a few of the bigger name oval races. I think having a least 4 road/street course races would surely expand NASCAR's following to a whole new fanbase.
@TheMoezilla The NASCAR Nationwide Series are currently on a three road course schedule: Road America, Montreal, Watkins Glen. But Brian France was actually looking into seeing if the division might be coming here next year. I really hope they do, this track is going to be amazing and I would sure love to see NASCAR there!
@MegaMat84 ... How is that not what I said? And if you want to put it into proper relativity, you must keep in mind in soccer for example, you only have 2 teams competing in a match so you have a much smaller portion of the fans watching each one. If you were to lump the sums together... See where I'm going with this?
Why is there no architectural signature like In Shanghai, Abu Dhabi, Bahrain or Delhi? Very sad. Can't wait for the race (F1 Diehard), but this is the best Texas could do?
This makes me so uncontrollably happy! I remember when Austin was just a sleepy college town starting to bud into something more, now look at us! I'm so honored to be an Austinite, my only request is PLEASE let us have track days! I'll be taking the whip and the bike! There's no reason why this shouldn't happen! Texas is always ahead of the rest, 13th largest economy in the world and created 8 TIMES more jobs in the last 8 years than the entire US combined! If we had this here it'd be brilliant

I've just read that the F1 race is in doubt. Something to do with Ecclestone and money.

I'm Australian but guddammit I'm excited as hell. F1, MotoGP and even V8 Supercars. Americas (Texas) got everything, such a cool nation.

They should call it "Circuit of Austin Powers"
magknight 4 months ago
How bold to call it "Circuit of the Americas" as if Austin is a world class city and neither the track is world class. Circuit of Austin perhaps

Yes it is.
Only summer Olympics and Soccer World Cup have bigger, but they're hold every 4 years.
