Is someone gonna finally provide a source on this Jack White/ BKs fuckery? Can anyone even verify any of this drama? I dug through the comments and i found, literally, one guy who said he 'heard' a dumbass magazine describe a hatred between the two groups. What the fuck guys?
Jack white sounds like a 12 year old. Just because this song and hello operator are played in the same key means nothing at all. The beat is completely different, and in in my opinion Dan is a much better singer and Pat dosent me to sleep like Meg's lazy drumming.
i prefer the black keys way more than the stripes.. and the reason is because jack white can't sing for shit! he has a fucking awful voice ! in the other hand Dan has a fucking bad ass voice, something between Howling Wolf and Bill Whiters

Black keys are basically white stripes on steroids. Also their songs are 10 times cooler. I hate to admit it but i forgot all about white stripes when i found these guys. I like White stripes just as much as the next guy. But Black keys is all i need....and zepp of course
Come on guys, I just listened to Hello Operator and this song multiple times and they aren't that similar at all. I would never put the two together in my head, certainly wouldn't say the Keys "ripped" off of Jack White. They have a similarly high bend in their guitar riffs, it doesn't make them the same song or give either band the right to get mad over almost nothing.
El Camino and Brothers is a natural progression. They can't keep making the same type of album every time. Wake up people. Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin progressed too.
That guitar riff sounds a lot like "Hello Operator" by the White Stripes. Article in Rolling Stone basically says Jack doesn't like these guys and I guess he thinks they ripped off the Stripes. But as a fan, I like both bands. There's room for both.

@YouAre256ColoursToo You should dig deeper and educate yourself a little about them before you say anything else. Listen to their first couple of albums and you'll see their roots are in the blues. They got me into Junior Kimbrough, RL Burnside, and Captain Beefheart. There's a lot more to them then what you see and hear on tv and the radio.

@danizappa Check out their whole catalogue. If this sort of sound isn't your thing I would start with Magic Potion. They cleaned their sound up a lot on that album, and if you dig that then you'll probably like Brothers and El Camino.

The Black Keys are my new Zeppelin, which is something I've not found in many decades. The only band to compete on that level for me is Pink Floyd, my #1 band of all time, Zep is #2 most days (some it gets 1st place). Now finally there's a band I can easily say is up there with Zep. Incredible, have not found a single mediocre or worse song by these guys & combining classic rock & blues, my 2 fave genres, well it can't get any better than this.

@Spotook I tend to disagree when you're referring to the Keys. They're definitely different with their latest stuff, but I just think it's more streamlined than it used to be. Their first two albums probably ARE their best (imo), but I also really like their newer material. And they could still be WAY more mainstream than they already are, don't you think?

@goblew14 rival sons got it goin on too. I was in your shoes about 2 years ago only listening to classic rock bc our generation has almost nothing but rival sons are great so is radio moscow. A few great bands are out n about you just gotta hopefully come across them

@Spotook I tend to disagree when you're referring to the Keys. They're definitely different with their latest stuff, but I just think it's more streamlined than it used to be. Their first two albums probably ARE their best (imo), but I also really like their newer material. And they could still be WAY more mainstream than they already are, don't you think?
