@MightyRathalos Yep. Dk tank is the best tank for doing those adds because of chains. So just drag em spam chains on em for a bit. Then take em to the water. Simple as that.

Also if you have a warrior tank on the adds their shieldslam can kill the brittle ones without a dps on 10man

Shockwave, and even devastate if you're gearing (or have an icecrown weapon) correctly can deal 5k on a crit easily if you're specced impale, even without the 2p T10 bonus.

Zanny there is 1 class with differ defense cap then every1 else and its a feral druid, druids dont need defense because of the Survival of the Fittest Talent which makes them un crittable

The cap is based off of the mobs level, therefor in all of lich king, it will be the same, also same for all tanking classes.

as a tank, i actually do object this strategy. the pond-strategy works so much better because of two things, iggy stays put. and beside the slags and adds and additional stuffs, you only need to keep the semi-interrupt in mind. so much easier to teach to your guys AND TO FOLLOW. though you'd want a strong add pickup guy for my idea, geared frost dk and or tankadin will suffice.

osef cap, is not naxxaramas, this cap is useless, you must not listen to sites like Millennium, you must put in mind that dodge and parry stats should be at least 25%, I'm a paladin and I currently have 28.61% dodge and 25.39% parry, 12.08% of blocking, for 43253k pv unbuff, and 520 def. I never needed to see sites that think they know everything because they think to be heading is sufficient to stop the controversy of the con think tank cap = mandatory

540 defense is the 'floor' for heroics yes, but its 545 (idealy 546 becuase its 545.6) for raids. unless ur a druid, then you dont need defense if you got the talents for survival of the fittest.

Why dont you look it up yourself

A raid boss is 3 levels above your character level. ALL heroic dungeon bosses are level 82. ALL raid bosses are level 83

The required defense value to not be subject to critical strikes from a level 82 is 535, thus (5 points per level) makes a level 83 require 540.

i'm sure he meant 540 and that 340 was a typo. and it's 540, not 545, it's always your lvl *5 +140, 440 in vannila 490 in tbc.

it's important to note that this is NOT A CAP and people shouldn't refer to it as such, its a FLOOR, a minimum. even after 540 def is still the best avoidance stat, it spreads dodge and parry, avoiding diminishing returns, and also lowers your chance to be hit (i.e. the boss misses)

2000-2500 is a nice ammount since the advent of the tournament.

tanks should be at 540 period. at all times. more isnt bad, but less is.

Ill answer these with my own exp

1. Usually 3k for Uld 10 3.8k for Uld 25, 2.5k for VoA 10 and 3.2k for VoA 25

2. Usually around 550-560 for both the above.

3. Im not a healer personally so i would say if u can heal thru The grob encounter you should be fine for VoA and mabye Uld 10

All of this was based on my server so might not be accurate to everyones.

Onyxia is easy, i did it 15 minutes in 10 man after release, (realm 7th i believe) Phase 1. Tank 1, tanks Onxyia into back corner Tank 2, Pick up random adds DPS&Heals, Do w.e Phase 2. Tank 1, Add on left Tank 2, Adds on right Range DPS, Blast Ony Melee DPS, Use AoE;s on Whelps and DPS Gaurdians (Watch out for their Fire Nova, it could fuck you up) Phase 3. DPS, DPS, DPS ,DPS, rinse and repeat.

One of the most anoying Mobs.. in ulduar... well boss... we do it a little different for the patches of flame placements but its sorta the same.. anyway thanks it helped us alot the first time we went there.

On 10-man, we were able to place him in the water (so his scorches were eliminated). We had a ranged person target the adds as they spawned, and the tank would assist and pick them up as well. Assuming your guild's dps is strong, you can just zerg him down asap before his damage buff and adds damage gets out of control. On 25-man, it was a bit too much damage, so we did it the traditional way, as shown in this video.

My guild just started Uld fresh off Nax downed 3 of the siege so far going to try Ignis tmozo looking forward to it!

Yeah we just recently downed ignis, hoping to put him on farm along with the other siege bosses. Once everyone knows the fight and your healers are assigned correctly it's an easy fight. Tanking the adds on the fight has gotten fun, I got my own style of doing it now. One of the healers said they've never seen the adds dealt with so fast.

BTW the brittle constructs need to be hit for at least 5k, a good idea is to have a shaman ready to Flame Shock and then lava burst, this almost always kills the construct, also when the construct blows up they deal alot of damage around them so it is best to have a few (mostly due to slag pot) ranged dps assigned to kill them rather than melee

In my guild, we have healers heal the tank while they stand inside the scorch. If you place the construct inside the newest scortch patch, you will be able to get all 10 stacks without having to move it to another scorch patch.

Alternatively, death knights can chains of ice the constructs inside the scorch and anti-magic shell through the damage it does to them too. They can then deathgrip the molten mobs into the water to make things easier.

For healers:

I had problems to see who is in the slagpot, So what u do:

Go to Healbot -> Options -> Cure -> And set "Slag pot" as a 'poison' -> Save it.

Now, when a player will be in his pot, the bar in healbot will have a different color, Wich is easy to find.

The new version of healbot, has all the 'ulduar debuffs' already installed!

You tank him different than I do.

I start off by pulling him to the right side pool facing the way he is walking. When he burns the floor I turn him right so he is facing the water and the OT can pull mobs in the fire and have water right there in front of him. After flame jets I turn him back to the burning spot on floor so the fire is always in the same spot and the OT just stays mobile so he can pick up adds and take them to same place.
