That depends how you define staged.... I mean the competition tactics for each and funny bits kenny does are obviously planned out, but beyond that it's a total reality based show.

It's not staged in the sense that there's no script, no acting, no clipping during recording, no stages built and no characters being performed.

However, of course there's some preparation and all that, and one of the things they've spoken at length about in the various commentaries is that often, Kenny, Kenny's crew AND Spenny's crew (but not Spenny) "know" what's about to happen so they can be ready with the cameras in good angles.

Some of it is lost in the cutting room of course, but generally this is what one should consider a pure reality show.
