my regret is ,only i went to see marcs parents after he died,i waited outside for an age thinking of something to say to then ,after an age i did go up to the door and knock ,they invited me in ,after 10 mins of chat his mum said to me if only you would have turned up 5 mins earlier dave bowie was here ,a missed chance but memorys stay with us ,ya cant buy em truck on peps xx
@Eggs4Eva I would have loved to have seen Marc live to play along with Bowie and Mercury on the recording of "Under Pressure"...that would have been epic. XXXX
@PAULLONDEN ROFL! Yeah, I think you're right! Between glancing in the monitor and catching glimpses of himself in the reflection of Bowie's sunglasses, LOL! Ahhhh, even Marc had to laugh. XXXX
Bowie seems pretty focused on trying to make sure he doesn't screw up his guitar riff. It's a pretty simple lick. Didn't realize that Dave was not very comfortable playing electric guitar. But then again he never had to. He always had someone great backing him (Mick Ronson, Carlos Alamar, Robert Fripp, Setvie Ray Vaughn).
Just shows what a great artist David is. He could have picked up anything and written a song with it . David's first instrument was the Sax. And he was not good at that either.
Hi there! This was filmed Sept. 9, 1977 and aired Sept. 28, 1977. Marc died on Sept. 16, 1977 (14 days before his 30th birthday) so this was filmed 7 days prior to his death. XXXX
Hi, my friend! You may be correct, Sept. 9 was the date I was able to research....it's irritating that so much of the historical information about Marc is difficult to identify precisely....seems like they didn't document too well during that time - argh!
Well, you can thank the BBC for that, unfortunately. The BBC had strict regulations at that time, forcing shows to end EXACTLY at a certain time. When Marc fell off the stage, suddenly the lights went out and *poof*! Cut! So sad, I too would have liked to see that moment captured on film. XXXX
I will keep my eye out n try get it loaded on! U will b the 1st 2 know if i can get it! I suppose it would be nice 2 get inside his house n own something personal but true its pretty mean after the accident! xxxx
i love this snippet of this song, i never tire of hearing it when you hear this finished segment and then listen to the rehearsal for the full song i jus ask my self what could have been, a huge No 1
For some reason, I never tire of hearing, & now seeing, this tune. This is one that my mate, Harry, & me are planning to do, with the words too (whatever they are)
Tanx, MalquiLans! I too never tire of this clip. Marc is so cute when he laughs after falling off the stage, and David is equally adorable with that big smile at the end....If you and Harry record this, I hope you'll post it here on YT so we can all see your handiwork! XXXXXX

@Charleybones He always said he felt rather stupid playing guitar, especially solos. Poor thing. xD

There is the full take of that floating around it was stolen from his house the night of his death! xxx
BolanBarlow1 2 years ago
Wow, I did not know that! I wish we could have had a little more of this filming, it's a treat to watch Bolan and Bowie together.
(I'm still trying to wrap my mind around the idea of the kind of person that would loot someone's house minutes after their death....horrible.)
