You'd think technology would be at the point where you could choose which camera angle to watch at. I'd love to watch matches at this level on a big tv. Thanks for putting it together.
I really hate it when the newer tennis fans talk about how blake sucks and goes for low percentage shots- he was actually at quite a high level at this time
@ohverrmynd Indeed, another great talent unfortunate to be born within 5 years of Roger. Blake had a ton of really bad injuries too. Didn't break his neck or something sliding into the netpost?
@monkeyface1921 yeah, he was just having a practice hit and he collided with the net post, he also got shingles at the same time. he really was a great player.
@choyothe We can build particle accelerators, work in the nanotech realm, etc etc yet people doubt that we can have technology to very accurately map the trajectory of a tennis ball. This is comical.
@HalloFusilli And because all of that you refuse to believe your eyes that clearly (should) show Fed's FH hit right in the outside edge of the line (maybe 1-2mm in) yet the Hawkeye shows it to be right in the middle of the line. Even Mcenroe said "caught the outside, it looked like it caught the line". It's clear the image Hawkeye showed wasn't correct.
@choyothe Well no system is 100% and to denounce/discredit an entire system that has been shown through numerous exhaustive tests to be incredibly accurate on one error is not wise. Additionally, this was in 06 the first year Hawkeye was used in the US open so I am sure the system has been strengthened a good deal in its accuracy.
@Andi12345671 It's in, but I wouldn't say on the line is an accurate statement when 1-2 mm of the ball touches the line. The hawkeye was at least 2 cm incorrect in this case.

9:52 tells you everything you need to know about Hawkeye, no way that ball was smack on the line.
