  • What kind of asshole lets his phone ring during a show like this?.... Is there any respect left?

  • not much at all. i hate it when people talk loud on their cellphones in public. sounds like they're showing off. i live in New York. worst of all people talking & texting while driving. those are stupid people.****

  • This is soooooooooo beautiful

  • "Turn off the phone".....jajajjaja....buenísmo

  • great song...brings back memories :)

  • Donna Fargo did it in the country field. Hers and Paul's are the only ones I've heard and I love them both!

  • Und das wird empfohlen?? Es gibt weit bessere Videos von Paul Anka, dieses wohl das Fadeste!!

  • "Turn off the phone"... haha! marvelous!

  • the fact that everybody is so quit listening, you can here a phone ringing .... amazing

  • lol! I did hundred comments without any reply! Since my first mistake, replies are flowing. Yes you are right Engelbert did it and I would like to listen it but it seem that there is no way to get it. If you ever will have it would you please to share it?

  • it is on the king of hearts album 1973

  • Here is the writing team for this song, exactly as it appears in my CD liner notes: (Anka-Rolot-LeGovie-PeLoy).

Having visted the Peter Lemongello website, "Do I Love You" plays upon entering. His version is very similiar to Paul Anka's original version.

I am not a fan of artists who sing their hits differently for a paying audience. Most fans want a song sung the way they remember it. (Barry Manilow is frequently guilty of doing this as well.)

  • The original single from 1971 last appeared on the album "Vegas Style: The Best of the Late RCA and Buddah Recordings." That CD was released in late 2000, and it is no longer in print.

  • reading all these comments I have to say some things:

in mgpsings 's opinion Mark Preston sang this song better, no doubt, his version is very good too, but I think that a composer is singing most of the time better his own song, and Paul was part of the composer team (Yves Lavot, Alain Le Govic, Michel Pelay, Maxime Piolot, Paul Anka)in 1971 at Buddah records.

It's possible that Peter Lemonjello sang it first, but just in his bathroom I presume.

  • I agree with Amarettoshot , yes Engelbert's is incredible, but he never sang this song, his song is HOW I LOVE YOU, it's not the same song!

  • Amarettoshot is correct. "Do I Love You" was on Engelbert's 1973 LP "King of Hearts".

  • Yes, you both are right! Thank you very much for this information. It helped me to know more about Engelbert. It seem that Parrot didn't sell his rights for this song for a later issue. I would like very much to listen this version but it's not easy to find.

  • yes engelbert recorded this on his 1973 king of hearts album

  • Just to let you know, Peter sang this song at countless venues. Read his biography on his website. You also spelled his name incorrectly. Just need to tell you that you presumed wrong, in fact, Peter Lemongello is the only one who can really sing this song. Engelbert is still great, but dosen't sing this as well as Peter does still today.

  • Just look at csapx3's comment he's talking about Peter Lemonjello (he's a famous reverend not a singer) that's why I commented this way. So we are talking about two different guys. Of course you are right talking about Peter Lemongello, and it's matter of taste who is singing better this song, I like Peter's version too.

  • Engelbert did sing this song, my ears weren't playing tricks on me lol. It was just so long ago though and it's incredibly hard to find it even a sample of it.

  • thanks for posting this awesome video. I met Paul many years ago in Atlantic City backstage and he touched my heart.

  • He is just awsome..I love him

  • Only a showman like Paul Anka could sing a ballad like this, have a cellphone go off right in the middle, and still make it an awesome performance. A class act all the way and he puts on one hell of a show.

  • Peter Lemonjello was the first to sing this song.

  • Really? I always thought that Paul Anka wrote this song with or for his daughter....and was the first to sing it...thanks for the info...;)

  • I think that Cole Porter wrote this song.

    It is beautiful.

  • Yes Engelbert recorded this on an early album in the 70's. Engelbert's is incredible!!

  • Great song.....but Mark Preston of The Lettermen sings it much better. Check out his version, I think you'll agree.

  • Pavarotti has been the greatest of the opera...and Paul is the greatest of dance music.

    Bravissimo Paul !!!

  • great song...brings back fond mmories

  • didn't engelbert sing this song too?

  • This is a great clip.

I'm not sure if Engelbert ever sang this. I love the studio version with the legendary Barry Gibb contributing background vocals.

  • Gorgeous performance of an old Anka classic given a new twist when a cell-phone goes off...Paul carries if off well making it a fun moment then goes back and gives a stunning & moving performance as only he can! Bravo Paul!!!

  • MUY BUENO

  • Yes,

He was one of my beloved singers when i used to live in Soviet Union. However,we were told that Paul Anka have died in a plane crash. What a wonderful moment to find out that he is still alive and do his concerts such as in Montreal!

  • what a great night...thank you thank you !!

  • In the middle...a cell phone rings....he sings.."turn off your phone" instead of the original lyric....an awesome moment!!!! .and...the audience loved it...

  • Thank you very much for your answer, he always has such awesom moments in his concerts, I love his humour always

  • I love it!!!!!!!!! Unfortunately I do not understand what is he telling in the middle of the song, when the people is laughing. Could you tell me?
