What can I say; the most gorgeous man that ever walked the planet. There never has been, and never will be, anyone to match Marc. Love and miss you. Gx
The riffs ARE similiar...and at the same time...there's nothing new under the sun...EVERYTHING has been influenced, begged or borrowed from something else.
Maybe this was the last we see of T.Rex on the ZDF archive only this tiny 1 minute 52 second clip for TOTP. but they was going to show the Glitter performance "Leader of the Gang" later in 1973 and refused to show it afterwards.
Usually the band went into the studio and recorded a backing track then mimed to that while Marc sang live. So the TOTP versions are often different to the singles the classic example being Teenage Dream. Sadly the BBC destroyed so much of their archive not just TOTP but shows like Dr Who as well. What remains is like this edited versions from German television shows such as Beatclub.
The BBC junked this, and it only exists because of the German station kept this copy but they didn't show the whole clip when they used so hence only 1 min 50 remains.
He is just copying Mika

MetalThrasher90 2 years ago 22
@MetalThrasher90 I'd say this riff was a close second to Smoke On The Water by Deep Purple.
1FineYoungCannibal 1 year ago
@MetalThrasher90 I would go as far as to say its the heaviest of the 70's, but i agree hes better than Bowie

So ahead of his time. He had a band before T. Rex called John's Children. They were the first punks.
