One person who clicked dislikes this is, I wonder if that big blind fool person chose to grove with the Devil foolish in Eternal Damnation Torture in Hell instead of Groovin With Jesus Christ God Himself.
@tulane111 you are one tone deaf, blindass judge of ultimate talent. GFR, while good, couldn't draw a breath, vibrate a string, nor bang a drum with a hundred years practice and be in the same league as the Pie was. What an ignorant comment you made.
You can rock n roll and still groove with Jesus. A lot of us fought the same things Steve did we just made it through. As a veteran of many hard living rock bands I can tell you that we still rock. We just have a different lifestyle now. Most of us couldn't continue that way and some that did aren't here anymore -RIP. I promise you I know the lifestyle better that most. Jesus was always looking over us and I am lucky that I was groovin with him. I just don't drink as much as I used to.
This song was covered very well by this group. But, it was originally done in 1970 by A legandary Gosple group The Fantastic Violinaires. Their version has now been posted by me.
Thunderbox may be my favorite studio album from this band. It just cooks from beginning to end. Soulful, funky, rockin' good time!!! That song they did about Muhammad Ali (also on the LP) is bad-ass too...
Love this..Love the Violinaires OG as well! Props to Marriott and Co for layin it down heavy!!

Jesus never played guitar! I mean he did just leave Chicago bound for New Orleans but that's about it.

I hate gospel music more than any other other genre. However..., in Marriott's hands it becomes a thing of beauty.
Like I've always said, "Steve, he be preachin'!"
