BTW, flatfooting has important health benefits, if you can get past the knee pain from overdoing it: good cardio, osteoporosis, and spider vein prevention, etc..., in all a healthy habit no matter how well you do it. if you do it regularly
I took a week-long course at an old-time festival and tried to keep it up, but it's hard to do on your own. I'm taking a tap course right now to try to get my feet moving again ;)
In Berea? Tap course is a great idea to get comfortable moving in and controlling sound/volume in taps. and controlling weight balance prior to transitions.
Also, tap course (and daily practice) develops needed muscle groups. Try summer festivals where there flatfoot jams. I learned more in one night of dancing with oldtimers than 3 months of daily practice alone at home w mirror and metronome.

thanks for the encouragement....at that time I had been dancing ~4 months, and improving daily...however now, 2 mos later, in a kinesthetic rut.
