Damn, being that the S2000 weighs 2801lbs with that much power makes it power-to-weight better than almost any Ferrari or Lambo. I would only turbo an AP2, since it has VSC and supercharge AP1 since they do not have any kind of traction control. These cars lose control pretty easily from over-steer

@jakerussel when this was recorded? most likely anywhere around 400-450 if i had to guess. b/c it was about a month after i discovered i was running on burnt valves and i dont know how long i was running like that so i couldve very well been running on burnt valves in this race- not sure so its hard to say what hp I was at in this race
@M16musicc one more question bro. I have a turbo s2k myself too. It has a fully built engine. but I chose the wrong kit. I have the Greddy carb legal one and I only put out 336 at the wheel. Any suggestions on how to add more horses to it.
There is no way that vet is even close to 429whp. If he is, he isnt telling you the truth about his mods. Ls6 is a strong motor but with the mods listed he would be very lucky to break 400whp on a high reading dyno. S2k is nice, what psi are you running in the race? Stock compression?
all im gonna say is power to weight ratio. my buddy's brother has a ls1 swapped 240 and it was faster then my s2k up till about 110 and then my s2k moved ahead. take that ls1 and put it back into a heavy corvette body and it doesn't stand a chance. granted, ls1 isn't the best vette motor there is :P

This was a good race...i have never had a corvette, but had 2 s2000s...frankly, i got rid of them as while they are nice balancee cars they arent very fast...i ended up getting a lotus elise and an e55 AMG...i miss the s2000s build quality and ergonomics. If only they made an s3000...
@shawncweed The only way to get power of of an F20c or F22c is a turbo. You should buy one or trade the lotus for it then just turbo it. Its alot better than having to do a full build on a NA motor.

@shawncweed The only way to get power of of an F20c or F22c is a turbo. You should buy one or trade the lotus for it then just turbo it. Its alot better than having to do a full build on a NA motor.

They may not be in the same class, I think the S2000 was made to compete with Mazda's MX5 and the NSX is the same class as the Corvette Z06.

Of course the vette has higher top end, but that doesn't define a win or loss- what did you want me to do? keep racing for about another 5 miles until he finally caught up over top end?
