I can live with comparing current players to Jordan because at least those guys are MVP candidates and future Hall of Famers. What I can't stand are comparisons to Pippen, because Pippen is an all-time great and the guys they compare to him tend to be zero-time All-Stars and would have to buy a ticket like your or I to get into the Naismith Hall of Fame.
No...Scottie Pippen is the GREATEST PERIMETER DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF ALL TIME. No non PF/C has ever put the defensive clinic that Pippen put on in the 94 and 95 season. He was incredibly screwed over for the DPOY that year in 95 despite having that team at 2nd in defense efficency and led the league in Drating (the only perimeter player to ever do so...)
I don't like that announcer. When Pippen told him his classic line he told Malone he just stared at him like "that's all you had to say?" That's one of the greatest lines you could deliver to Malone! Pip - HOF 2010
"Marv, it's not serious because it's not on your foot" Bill Walton is funny but he's dead right. Many times commentators/journalist view a player's injury as insignificant because they've never experienced the pain.
Great performance by Pip on a bad foot. I think it plantar fasciitis? I noticed during the 2nd 3 peat Pippen's body was really wore down by the time he got to the Finals. In '96 he had the ankle and knee problems. '97 the bad foot and in '98 he had the back back after taking charges on Malone.

If I was byran russell I would hate to cover the guy wearing 23
I always had a lot of respect for scottie's game
He didn't have to rely on his athleticism all the time, but his court ball IQ started to develop
I was wondering if you his game with finals record with 7 threes

I cant believe he was guarded 1 on 1 on that shot. In todays nba he would be double or triple teamed.

Classic MJ. I remember watching this game back in 97. Always such an exciting feeling whenever MJ hit a game winner. I miss those days.

@bballmemories it is also noteworthy to point out that Walton's career was severely curtailed by foot injuries.
