You are not saved by confessing Jesus as your savior John 3:5 says so. The word of God cannot controdict itself. Romans 10:9-10 is not a controdiction, Read 4 chapters before that, Romans 6. Paul was speaking to the Church, whom had already been baptised in Jesus name. Acts 17:11 states we need to search the scriptures. Please understand I am not saying this in a condensending tone. If you leave the upc, it is difficult because they make you feel like you are leaving God. This is wrong.This is arrogance. This 'doctrine or revelation' the upc teaches is less than 100 years old. I'm sorry but I never experienced any of that being in the UPCI. My church leaders are the most caring people I have ever met in my entire life. We believe in holiness and modesty standards, but we don't force it on our visitors or church members. I can't speak for the entire UPCI itself, for we all have the same core beliefs, but also minor differences. I wouldn't generalize the UPCI being evil if just one church in our organization is in dire need of prayer for their sins.......
I wouldn't call it the UPC doctrine the Apostle's Doctrine is the doctrine adopted by the UPC organization, and I believe PAW is the same. I also know there's a few other's, not that famous, that follow the same doctrine, but are not the same organization. Then there's those who believe in the Apostle's Doctrine that aren't in organizations. And not every church in the UPC believe exactly the same things as others in the UPC... Of course they're not heaven or hell issues I believe.

It doesn't matter what organization you are a part of. What does matter is if you have the Holy Spirit and have been baptized in Jesus' name, along with keeping a relationship with the Lord and repent daily.
I am in the UPCI, and we do respect other christians, unlike what musicmusing has said. Yeah there's some churches out there that do wrong, but it's not because they are part of the UPC. My church strongly implies the love of Christ, and to love others, even our enemies.
My problem with the upc is their arrogance against other christians. The heavy burdens I speak of are the feeling of condemnation and never being good enough. I am clean and pure because of the cross. Not by standards or attending church 5 times a week.The shepherds DO lay a lot of unneccesary guilt trips on you.Sorry, but I did have a bad upc experience that lasted 5 years, and since I left I truly have peace with God, I could care less if you call me a 'backslider'
If you just left the upc assembly but went to another church and still have a reletionship with God then your are not a backslider because there are other organizations and churches that teach the truth. Like me I am part of the apostolic assembly but have upc friends and we're both saved. However, my one comment is don't let a couple of bad apples spoil the whole barrel, there are plenty of good upc churches out there. God Bless.
I don't know your incident with the "UPC" but I really don't understand what you are trying to say with heavy burdens.. A pastor guards the flock, basically... and when we are born again we do have problems(spiritual warfare, etc) occur and yes it does deal with faith, because the just shall live by faith... Acts 2:38 the plan of salvation is just the birth certificate there is so much beyond that, and God is bringing that to the Church, the one that has made themselves ready...

You got to understand that there is not (upc people) but there is the Church, and yes in History the Church from the starting point of the Day of Pentecost that is the Gospel we preach, not Apostles Doctrine, and truth has been faded away until traditions of men, forming big and unique churches and take away the big and powerful miracles that had suppose to be for the Church, its not a new doctrine but the Doctrine revealed to these last days, that is why you see miracles happening in the UPC.

I see - I did avoid commenting on Zeitgeist. I'm skeptical about parts of the movie. Though, I do agree that religious beliefs borrow and are influenced by older beliefs, or beliefs around them. I would say that the Jesus story was influenced by older beliefs as well.

Brother Lee Stoneking is one great man of God. I've been in a service with him preaching the Word of God.. The first time I ever saw a mass amount of people receive healing and deliverance. In the middle of the service, he announced angels were in the sanctuary. It was the most greatest feeling ever.
I'm curious about something: How did Christianity destroy the Roman Empire? It was external factors such as barbarian invasions and internal factors such as bad economic decisions, the decline of the Roman army, military coups, etc., that lead to the fall of the Empire. If anything, Christians helped hold it together. I respect Rev. Stoneking, but I didn't follow him on that point.

Thats the problem with old Lee, facts don't matter to him, he makes up what he wants to be true.The amazing thing is that the Christianity that abounded in Rome is something he denies in another video on youtube as ever being part of! You are not saved by confessing Jesus as your savior John 3:5 says so. The word of God cannot controdict itself. Romans 10:9-10 is not a controdiction, Read 4 chapters before that, Romans 6. Paul was speaking to the Church, whom had already been baptised in Jesus name. Acts 17:11 states we need to search the scriptures. Please understand I am not saying this in a condensending tone. If you leave the upc, it is difficult because they make you feel like you are leaving God. This is wrong.This is arrogance. This 'doctrine or revelation' the upc teaches is less than 100 years old. This says alot.Even the rare person they can dig up that believed in oneness never spoke in tongues or would pass the upc 4 steps to being saved anyway so the upc doctrine stands alone as obviously 'new'. Leave, leave, run! Jesus Christ will honor you for choosing Him over man. Praise Him for grace!

If you say faith in Jesus Christ and the work of the cross is what saves you, this also is false doctrine in the upc. We are saved by grace thru faith, unless you are upc. That they can boast, I was baptised, I spoke in tongues, I follow holiness standards, I ,I, I. If I say Jesus Christ alone is my salvation, am I a heretic? If I say ,whosoever believes in Him shall be saved, would you think to say to God, except him, except her, they don't speak in tongues?

I was upc. Now am not. I belong to a forum of people who have left also to find the grace of God, and it is so sad and tragic the way you are treated if you leave. No other church does this. I didn't leave Jesus. I didn't leave to backslide. I left because the upc treats people like cattle. Pastors even give you a hard time if you want to move or attend a different upc church. Where is the grace in that? Grace is almost a taboo topic in the upc. Like it's a false doctrine

In your opinion. The fact is 99% of all scholars have come to a different conclusion on what is the apostles doctrine. Preach Christ and Him crucified. I walk in grace thru faith, covered by the blood, by HIS righteousness. I fully reject the upc as a works based, manconrolled organization. There are good, saved people in the upc in spite of their inability to understand beyond what is parroted to them as absolute truth. When you place a man above you he can only look down on you

I'm sorry but I never experienced any of that being in the UPCI. My church leaders are the most caring people I have ever met in my entire life. We believe in holiness and modesty standards, but we don't force it on our visitors or church members. I can't speak for the entire UPCI itself, for we all have the same core beliefs, but also minor differences. I wouldn't generalize the UPCI being evil if just one church in our organization is in dire need of prayer for their sins.......

I wouldn't call it the UPC doctrine the Apostle's Doctrine is the doctrine adopted by the UPC organization, and I believe PAW is the same. I also know there's a few other's, not that famous, that follow the same doctrine, but are not the same organization. Then there's those who believe in the Apostle's Doctrine that aren't in organizations. And not every church in the UPC believe exactly the same things as others in the UPC... Of course they're not heaven or hell issues I believe.

It doesn't matter what organization you are a part of. What does matter is if you have the Holy Spirit and have been baptized in Jesus' name, along with keeping a relationship with the Lord and repent daily.
I am in the UPCI, and we do respect other christians, unlike what musicmusing has said. Yeah there's some churches out there that do wrong, but it's not because they are part of the UPC. My church strongly implies the love of Christ, and to love others, even our enemies.

My problem with the upc is their arrogance against other christians. The heavy burdens I speak of are the feeling of condemnation and never being good enough. I am clean and pure because of the cross. Not by standards or attending church 5 times a week.The shepherds DO lay a lot of unneccesary guilt trips on you.Sorry, but I did have a bad upc experience that lasted 5 years, and since I left I truly have peace with God, I could care less if you call me a 'backslider'

If you just left the upc assembly but went to another church and still have a reletionship with God then your are not a backslider because there are other organizations and churches that teach the truth. Like me I am part of the apostolic assembly but have upc friends and we're both saved. However, my one comment is don't let a couple of bad apples spoil the whole barrel, there are plenty of good upc churches out there. God Bless.

I don't know your incident with the "UPC" but I really don't understand what you are trying to say with heavy burdens.. A pastor guards the flock, basically... and when we are born again we do have problems(spiritual warfare, etc) occur and yes it does deal with faith, because the just shall live by faith... Acts 2:38 the plan of salvation is just the birth certificate there is so much beyond that, and God is bringing that to the Church, the one that has made themselves ready...

As far as the upc goes, I have heard the stories of MANY who have been devastated by the ungrace and unforgiveness perpetrated at them. Your pastors are above all, not the servants of all( the bibles' definition). You CANNOT disagree on anything (ooh, don't touch Gods anointed) otherwise you're a "problem saint' . Sorry, God made us all unique, while the upc churns out robots and yesmen. Jesus Christ gets lost in all the standards and defense of them(unbiblical and purely to control)

musicmusing, nobody else teaches what we teach because they do not teach the full truth. As for calling us a clique, sorry, not true. We love and forgive all others. Yeah, you'll find a few who are not as loving, but their judgement is before God. True christians forgive even those who say they are christians and still hurt you. God wants broken souls, not rituals. My brother is not saved, and my boss at work believes differently than I, yet I still love them. God bless you.

You got to understand that there is not (upc people) but there is the Church, and yes in History the Church from the starting point of the Day of Pentecost that is the Gospel we preach, not Apostles Doctrine, and truth has been faded away until traditions of men, forming big and unique churches and take away the big and powerful miracles that had suppose to be for the Church, its not a new doctrine but the Doctrine revealed to these last days, that is why you see miracles happening in the UPC.

You will know the truth a little bit at a time with each word you hear whether you know where it is in the bible or not! Once you start the journey you will see you are led from one word or revelation to the next! Be nice if you had a church where they would promote this seeking hearing and sharing! But I have yet to see or find one! Receiving the spirit is not the last step by far!

Christianity was persecuted until the Roman Catholic version-If what you call truth in a mixed form of Pagan And Christian beliefs- was adopted by Constantine.The truth of one God and baptism in Jesus name has been present thru the start yet the Paganized form is what the world accepts.(Trinity-based on Timaeus and invented by Tertullian AD197 and adopted as true in Nicene AD325.) Amen. I don't think many people know about Terullian Timaeus. I know I never did until I started attending a Pentecostal church. There's so much this world does not know about the corruption of the catholic church, and I pray that they will take note that the Trinity is built on a man-made doctrine, combined to please people of many false religions by allowing there rituals to be a part of the Catholic church at the Council of Nicea, 300 years after Jesus Christ.

I see - I did avoid commenting on Zeitgeist. I'm skeptical about parts of the movie. Though, I do agree that religious beliefs borrow and are influenced by older beliefs, or beliefs around them. I would say that the Jesus story was influenced by older beliefs as well.

I'm no scholar in history, so I would avoid debates like that due to my own lack of understanding. That the Jesus story was inspired by other religions could have been true, or if you believe in the veracity of the bible that the other religions came from Old Testament times Christianity. Either way I would still avoid the subject as I have no solid argument due to my lack of knowledge and formal education in ancient history, and I daresay it applies to you. Peace

Brother Lee Stoneking is one great man of God. I've been in a service with him preaching the Word of God.. The first time I ever saw a mass amount of people receive healing and deliverance. In the middle of the service, he announced angels were in the sanctuary. It was the most greatest feeling ever.

I'm curious about something: How did Christianity destroy the Roman Empire? It was external factors such as barbarian invasions and internal factors such as bad economic decisions, the decline of the Roman army, military coups, etc., that lead to the fall of the Empire. If anything, Christians helped hold it together. I respect Rev. Stoneking, but I didn't follow him on that point.

Thats the problem with old Lee, facts don't matter to him, he makes up what he wants to be true.The amazing thing is that the Christianity that abounded in Rome is something he denies in another video on youtube as ever being part of! I guess its hard to keep track of all the things you claim that are untrue. Video will be the downfall of the UPC because it will show all of its failures in documentation, and so far in their history, they've never admitted to any failures!
