I'm the lead host on an amateur podcast and we record with the Tascam DR-07 MKII placed on a stool between four chairs.
This review of the Audio-Technica ATR3350 has sparked an idea. How would you rate the viability of this setup: four 3350 lapel mics into a Nady mixer into the Tascam
I love the Tascam because of its 24-bit/96kHz PCM quality and the only drawback to this scheme would be the need for a bunch of 1/8" to 1/4" connectors.
@mclaren777 I reckon that might work alright, though adapters tend to add minor disruptions to the signal. If you're just talking about a podcast, it would definitely be preferable to a single field recorder insofar as audio post mixing. It'll sound cleaner and clearer, giving you more control over the final mix. Plus you can more easily move around without changing signal levels.
@mclaren777 Haha, I think there are some indoor tests out there already and probably even more outdoor ones. I don't really use this mic that much these days, I tend to use a rode ntg-3 for booming instead.

Any chance you could do some indoor testing as well?
