  • wrong actions

  • this is charming! I dread to think how we massacred Guantanamera and other so many other lovely songs from all around the world in school assembly singing when I was a kid in New Zealand. But at least it introduced me to music and culture other than my own. I'm happy waiata are being heard and sung outside of NZ

  • aw that's choice as!!!! =D

  • Ka Pai everyone!

  • AUE!!!!!!

  • This is awesome. I loved the wairua and aroha shown & felt by all these kids, their whanau/audience & the kaiako. Beautiful.

  • tino pai! I am a student teacher in New Zealand (im my final year of teachers college) and I am preparing to take my class on a marae trip! I am going to teach them this song for the waiata, and this video have given me good insight into how i can go about the performance. Kia ora!

  • tino pai tamariki ma,,,,,even doing some actions to it,... good on yous for giving it ago..,whether you admire maori culture or not...tu meke

  • Pakeha's sound like shit singing maori songs, im not trying 2 be mean but its true

nice try though but try and sing a song that has English in it OKAY

  • He kokanga whare e kitea, He kokonga ngakau e kore e kitea, ti hei mauri ora!

You can see the corners of a whare, but you can't see the corners of a heart, tis the sneeze of life.

Firstly, Maori have been stealing Pakeha songs for years, too late to stop us now. Secondly, the effort put into singing our song plus actions honours all Maori.

To the children, tutors/nga kaiako Kia ora koe e hoa ma, kia kaha, kia maia, kia manawanui. Thankyou all, be strong, perservere, be patient in your learning.

  • I Would love for them to see my group perform give them a real taste of maori music (: Kapai Kids,

  • Gorgeous and love the asian kid who's high riding, so cute!

  • 楽しいパフォーマンスをありがとう。

  • yeah all good - if more people had a go the world would be more clued up....

  • @welshjohn369 fucking racist cunt. it's people like you who need to die. fuck you. the maori culture is amazing. beautiful infact. get a fucking life. fuck you.

  • I really reckon you should mellow out, cause this is mean maori mean...and it is an honour to have others learning our Waiata

  • That was cool :) very good to see the culture spreading its wings.

I liked the look on the little kids faces like they were really enjoy the dance and song.

  • Get a life you maori dickhead, you stolen everything from the pakeha. No pure bred maori no more anyways. If you don't want pakeha to sing maori songs you maori stop singing white european and American songs and quite stealing the music to put maori words to simple innit.

  • @welshjohn369 ALL SHIT! you dont know jack shit! now before you start pointing fingers at who stole what, just remember that you diseased little shits, betrayed us maoris. Yous stole our land, killed our people and traded us for fuck all. you dont like it here, fuck off back to your own fucking country CUNT!

  • bloody parkias stealing my people heritage

  • shit i have seen it all. thats looks like a ferry play why bother if you ain't gonna do it properly

  • well-done :D

  • It is a little lacking in authenticity. This is how I imagine they would sing it in Europe.

  • lmao tha very end FUNNY.

    hi aue hei

  • mean maori mean ! lols :P

  • are you fuckin' kidding me?

  • keep it up, we all must tautoko this sort of stuff because is if we dont we will loose our language, ok they wernt perfect with to pro'n but they did bloody well for a group thats not from NZ Aotearoa

  • i remember singing this at primary school lol

  • this is just a discrase to th maori race

  • @soweird609 totally

  • Ka pai- I enjoyed the effort, and the beat. Great to see the double base...

  • Ka Pai! And people do have accents when they sing in other languages! just htink about people trying to sing in French or spainish etc when it is not their native language!! Im glad they are singing it! makes me even more proud to be maori. better than some reactions we are still getting back at home

  • i like the way they sing it in maori

  • I remember this song hardowt it was one of my first after Oma rapeti gr8 job specially as I think they're from america? Stilkk rhymes with dick which is what u are.

But this was to meke well done.

  • I am looking for a score for this song, preferably in SA or SSA. Does anyone know where I can locate it? Thanks, DB

  • fuk yea m8s ! kepp up da good work ya poofs

  • "AWESOME" My wife an I thoroughly enjoyed this video. My dad's mum taught this song to us when we no bigger than a grasshopper, an these tamariki took me back to memories i will always treasure. "Ka mau te wehi"

  • man,, fully cracking up at the "ki aue hey" part lol nice job tamariki! tino pai

  • Awesome!!!!!

  • 우리 귀여운 병아리들 반가워요. 대신 율동은 한국에 오면 노란 병아리떼에게 배우세요. ^^

  • I (as a non Maori who was raised in NZ) think that it is great to see that Maori culture not only conitnues to flourish in Aotearoa but its appreciation is broadening through its introduction to the whole world. Many envy the Maori for the wonderful culture that they have maintained. Credit also to the non Maori who volunteer to the learn some aspects of the culture. It may at times seem like a poor interpretation of the arts - but lests be honest it tks yrs to master some of the finer techniqs

  • the last bit is kia tapatahi kia kotahi ra!!

and its hi aue hi lol otherswise great job!! my grandfather wrote that song!!

  • OK, great and all but traditional maori dancing means that armpits are not to be seen, and when they lift there arms from the 45 degree angle it is a sign of disrespect.....just a lil not, otherwise...ok :D

  • it soundz to me like they have an accent...i doubt theyre new zealanders!! plus most kiwis know how to do actions properly....maori or not

  • ogm i used to sing this song at school..

  • Wow, I really hope they aren't Kiwis.

  • i dont think i saw 1 maori student but i must confess it was a great job for non maori's ka pai rawa

  • Ka pai VERY GOOD!

  • tino pai

  • chek owt the teachers wiriwiri hahaha pai rawe atu

  • eha tumeke alright love it

  • AH ka pai

  • I think its very good for people who are not maori to be singing one of our treasured songs..and they appeared to be enjoying themselves..... AND.... I, being a maori myself .... say they did well....

  • Actually I think this is pretty good for a group of young people who don't even live in NZ. I've seen it performed worse by some maori. Have a look at the Shortland St version of it on Youtube if you don't believe me. Also it's great to hear our waiata honoured in other countries

  • munkyplay go play wit his munky lill ballsack ahheeet!!!!

  • To whoever made this video. Next time teach them a Samoan song because looking at these comments Maoris are a bunch of bitches. Samoans would at least be flattered that you sang one of our songs. :)

  • Easy on sole, They don't want to sing about the huge lady with 11 kids in one bedroom fale living in Aukalagi

  • lol@sunkah......fawk u LOL good one though LOL

  • I'm glad you saw the funny side of that...

  • Give them a break!!! I've seen worse back in NZ. I'd rather see kids singing a Maori song than playing with Lego. Back here in NZ, us Maori sing it in G, but you guys are way too cool singing it in A.

PS, I loved that lil groovy intro. Mean Maori Mean!!!

  • they are great i aroha this song

    aroha means love

  • I liked the fact that they enjoyed what they were doing, and they weren't being disrespectful b**stards about it. so good on them for giving it a go. it's nice to see other people performing it in front of lots of people.

  • some of them werent even trying man!!!

you think thats their best shot? not even aow!!!

if you look at the people at the back...

they think that they cant even be seen...

so they are just doing the slack actions... not putting up their arms properly!!! not doing strong actions... they should be proud that they know some language of singing from another culture besides their own!!

    AUE KARE!!!!

  • Tino pai - well done

  • awesome te whanau a Hampshire

good pronounciation but u guyz missed out the Aue! inbetween lines..

    Tu Meke tho

  • for a hole lot of pakeha (Didnt look maori too me) haha ihd was ghud they tried to pronounce em proply even done some mahi a ringa. not too bad ah must say ! too muchss.

  • kiaora nesian they are latino, south american... apperently Canon Wi te Tau Huata's somg from world war two is a big hit there :)

  • well true that. well done ihd ghud as.

    hehe much aroha. xx

  • Kia Ora Tatou

    Tino Pai

    Ka Mau Te Wehi .

  • well at least the parungi's gave it there best shot at a new song from another country tru........

  • Aue aue auuuuuuue!!!! What's with these BAD comments? U don't need 2 tell them they're Porangi!

Showin a disgrace 2 our Ancestors as I know u wont b laughin infront of them. It's Tino Pai 2 see them sing this particular Waiata, show's they're giving their meaning Maori Culture, think about it!

  • Hei ano... Wanna give a big Shoutout to these Performers and the good comments in here! And my Fat Maori Arse to the People who leave the bad comments!

  • lol

  • hows the world gonna learn if YOU dont teach them?

  • excatly toamaori

  • this is really wicked a Maori song sung around the world !

    tumeke (awesome)

  • good work kids!

  • This is possibly one of the cutest things ever. I'm very impressed by the harmonies. Regardless of how authentic this is, I'm very happy that non-Maori are embracing this music and language. I think people who post negative comments are missing how awesome it is to have the waiata and language sung by all different types of people. After all, the song is about us all standing as one... tatou tatou e! Good stuff.

  • Ahaha omg

    i remember this song

when i wuz like in primary school!!

    Lolsz

  • Good work - keep it up. I love hearing anyone singing this song!!! Kia kaha and don't worry about all the negative comments.

  • OMG WHAT DO YOU CALL THIS
