I looooove this, he's a wonderful musician and teacher! I did a Kodaly musicianship course a long time ago and we were taught the Pentatonic approach first using solfeige (do, ray, me, so, la) then you 'fill' in the gaps (me-fa and ti-do) - if you introduce and reinforce it properly it really does work well and you understand the logic behind western music on a fundamental level... besides its fun too!
