  • What's all the fuss? It's not that scary

  • Late mate? Thought Zira was Scar's daughter, she looks a lot like him.

  • I'd rather have my kid watch this than Hannah Montana.

  • man. this was so creepy.

  • ok ok time out, disney took this out because it was to dark for the kids, ok, so in the lion king mufasa death and scar getting eaten alive by hyenas weren't dark, and in hunch back of notre dame, frollo's song hellfire, and him falling into a firey pit weren't dark, seriously disney sequels aren't as graphic violent or dark as the first one but some are good like this movie even though it can't really compete with the first one

  • Now I got nightmares... Zira scared me, realy and I'm 15!

  • My childhood is now in tatters... so why do I enjoy the concept more than the final version? There's something rather fitting about "Zira's Suicide" over "Zira's Death".

  • @x1akurei I personally always interpreted it as suicide, even when I was really young. Its still suicide in the regular movie when she refuses Kiara's help, that way is still suicide just more subtle.

  • Oh, bloody hell.... D: This version of Zira's death is absolutely chilling! :O Glad they cut the original end of this scene out--otherwise, I would have been scarred for life if I actually saw it... D-8

  • 1. Trying to drag the person who was genuinely trying to help you down with you.

    2. Laughing knowing that you're going to die.

    3. Staring at the person right in the face refusing help and in the most darkest way, express that you'd rather choose death then to be helped by said person.

If this was in The Lion King 2, Zira would've been my 2nd all time fav villain. (next to Malificent) Not only that, it would've been the most epic Disney death.

  • Hearing Zira's voice here gives me goose bumps..

  • You know for Kids! :)

  • I always wondered why she was smiling as she fell lol

  • aaawwwww man that woulda been so much cooler if they put that in! i can see why they didnt tho D:

  • Ookkay...

I'm not going to sleep anytime soon. o3o

  • Is this from the US bonus DVD of the special edition? I've never seen this before - on the german DVD there is only less bonus material. What else is on the bonus DVD of the US edition? I'm thinking about importing it perhaps...

  • This scene is flipping creepy!!! No wonder they didn't put it in!

  • I remember watching the DVD and something about Zira's death just didn't sit right. Why was she smiling when she fell? NOWWW I get it!!

  • actually she was also supposed to laugh as she fell

  • They really need to make a lion king 3/4 and explain what the fuck happened to kopa (simbas son) fair enough we have an "official" story made by fans but there really should b a film about it

  • okay so what i don't understand is.. fair enough that this is very creepy but they put an almost suicide theme in the incredibles..soooo what difference does it make?

  • @FallingvAwayvFromvMe The Incredibles was Pixar, they don't tend to shy away from slightly edgier content.

  • @SailorTaurus still owned by the Disney company but yes I see where you're coming from (:

  • @FallingvAwayvFromvMe I dont remember that scene, mind refresh my memory please?

  • @DRAGOOOOOOOONNNNNNNN definitely not as creepy as this but it's right at the beginning when Mr Incredible is doing hero duties before his wedding and saves the citizen who throws himself off the building..then that's when the 'supers' get criticized because he never wanted to be saved.

  • @FallingvAwayvFromvMe Ah yes I remember now

god if I was Mr Incredible I surely grant his wish for what he did

  • @FallingvAwayvFromvMe Firstly, that's Pixar and this is Disney. Secondly, there's 6 years between them. Also where is there a almost suicide theme in the Incredibles

  • "Não... Nunca!" haha eu aqui falando portugues rsrs

  • I actually remember watching this scene in the original release

  • @yetiboy713 I had the VHS tape, and I clearly remember this. Sadly, all the tapes got ruined one day after they got wet. I guess shit happens.

  • Maaaaan I just wish I see scar and zira together in the movie.i wonder what there romance be like

  • woa. o.o

  • Zira pretty much died for nothing, i mean the hyenas were the true killers of scar i mean didn't she notice his carcass half eaten(if there was any left), and they didn't die they just ran away so she could of went after them, or teamed up with simba to get them or something, but then again disney villains aren't always the smartest, i just wish the hyenas were in this film, would of been more fun and entertaining

  • Disney always keeps awesomeness to themselves.

  • That is fucking scary, excuse my language, but man I'm glad they cut that out in the actual movie, that would of scarred children for life.

  • Also, the other ending is the kind of thing that would haunt Kiara. I hated that ending because Kiara could do nothing to help her, even if Zira changed her mind. I always thought the guilt Kiara would have from watching Zira die would be much like Simbas from the first movie. Since she couldn't win Zira over, or help her, she died. Instead of it being Zira's choice to die.

As a little kid I thought it was Kiara's fault Zira died.

  • I like this ending better, it shows the true hatred of the pridelanders that Zira harbors. She would rather die than accept help from 'their kind.'

Its a pretty powerful notion, and shows just how black her heart has become. While most would value life, and continue the feud at a later time; she was too prideful, too 'mad' to accept help, and under no circumstances would accept help from the very lioness that turned her pride against her.

Much better than just 'oops, sorry, I slipped'.

  • She thought she was gonna land in the wood...

  • I KNEW IT!! this is why it looked like she was smiling when she died on the movie afterwards... AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO NOTICED THIS? O>O

  • @TheColdless No I noticed that to but I figured my eyes were just seeing things or something. Cool I'm not the only one :)

  • O.O damn nature, you scary!

  • I just kind of thought she swiped her paw away because she would rather die then have Kiara help her. Or she thought she could get out of the situation on her own.

  • anyone noticed that they use the stampede music instead of zira's death music? i do

  • I Think she let go because she wanted to Scar again

  • The way she says "Never" will give me nightmares. I'm almost 20.

  • Now i see why she killed herself. Not only that i bet she wanted to join Scar the badly in death.

  • That awkward moment when Zira misses the log and falls into the water. :/

  • yeah that would've messed up my childhood.

  • 0:32 that face makes me want to throw the computer and run.

  • i like dark disney so much better, its more emotional

  • Aw, finally found this, thank you so much. Dang, the emotional impact here is through the roof. Here's to hoping for an uncute version.

  • If I was Kiara, I'd probably have nightmares for the rest of my life.

  • Wow Zira is hardcore! ride or die type cat lol

  • é uma cena interessante nao sei pq cortaram :( muita gente fica pensando que a Zira caiu sem querer

  • it an interesting concept, die or be saved by the daughter of the one who is responsible for the death or her son and the one she loved, I think she just couldn't live with the shame

  • ohhh i have always wondered why she fell like that, cause if it was an accident she wouldn't have fell like she did in the movie, but this makes so much sense

  • I must admit, I'm glad this scene was cut. I've always loved Lion King 2, and this really creeps me out, the groaning as she slips and the "never".

I would like to see it, and Nuka's real last words scene, finished on the Blu-Ray release. So long as there's a version of the film without it on there as well.

  • When Zira's expression changes to one of peace when she sees the tumbling logs... I can't help but think she wanted the same death as Nuka to make it up to him.

  • Ooook.... that totally scarred me for life :D

  • it makes sense I suppose, she didnt want to be punished by Simba again, so she saw this as an opportunity to evade swift judgement and be reunited with Scar and Nuka

  • I wonder if these scenes will be in the Blu Ray release

  • I never knew Disney could be so dark!

  • this is both creepy and epic... i have goosebumps

  • didnt know disney coud make such a terrific idea.

  • wow the dark side of lion king 2

  • I thought Scar was out of his mind, but Zira's just insane!

  • @Joshuah128 She puts the madness into evil, this is just crazy =O

  • My opinion..... they left in the attempted suicide in the Incredibles in because the audience had no emotional connection with the guy. With this, even though Zira was evil, people grow attached to her

  • I can see why this was cut, but in a way, it is no more disturbing than Mufasa is murderd, still, this is dark.

I have also seen comments saying there should be a lion king duluxe edition!

I totally agree!! Best move EVA! -3

  • Zira. The most badass character in existence.

  • nnnnnnnnnnnevvvveeerrrr...

  • wow i never knew zira would just kill herself like that

  • Wow. I got chills when she said never. Glad they cut that. LOL

  • @lauraandjamesjo4 I wish they kept it....

  • @starlaasmith Haha. It would have been okay for maybe...older kids? Not four or five year olds like my bro and cousins. :)

  • @lauraandjamesjo4 BUT KIDS TODAY WATCH HORROR MOVIES!SO....YUPPERS.

  • @starlaasmith Very good point. My friends mom allows her 6 year old to watch Grown Ups, Friday the 13th, among others. My ex-friends mom took her daughter to see the Hang Over 2 and she isn't even 13.

  • @starlaasmith Exactly! So whenever Disney releases this again,I think they should do the uncut

  • weird thing is I've always thought that it was indeed a suicide,i mean, she just let go anyway...

  • i can understand cutting this (that just gave me chills! imagine what it would do to a 6 year old), but i really wish they hadn't cut nuka's final words. T^T so damn sad.

  • That was actually pretty creepy.....

  • Woah... That was kinda disturbing, even though I'm 14 xD. That smile and laugh at the end is going to haunt me in my nightmares D: But this scene is fantastc, I wish they left it in.

  • "oh, wait, we can't have suicide in this movie, the children will see it, and get the false impression that people commit suicide in real life, and we can't have that"--Disney

  • Damn I wished they'd left this in. I've always loved Zira, and what I like about this version is that she WON, even if it meant her death. So kickass.

  • suicide is bad but mufasa getting trampled is a-okay?

  • This ending would have suited Zira far more than the movie's ending. In the movie it's like she's realizing her big mistakes in her last moment. But she's a fanatic, she wouldn't have regreted anything! I love and ACCEPT only this ending!

  • This just makes so much fucking more sense for her o_o Zira's such a fantasticly batshit crazy char, this is just perfect for her. Going to play this in my head whenever I watch the movie now.

  • I consider this the true ending lol.

Even when I was little I though it was strange how Zira reached out for Kiara when it was clear that she was the stubborn, hateful type. :/

  • I laugh so hard...

I think it's good that they don't take this scene...a little bit to...crazy

  • wow..i think zira was a little too faithful to scar!

  • ...Not to get off subject but isn't this music from the First Lion King? xD

  • @lovepuppy513 Yes it is the music from Mufasa's death scene =D

  • this one is better than what really happend

  • Woah....I never knew about this deleted scene...The way she says "No...Neveerrr..." is SO creepy, but it does add to her character. I can understand them deleting it though in order to not scar (no pun intended) kids, but...at the same time...kids are eventually going to learn about suicide, considering it's prevelance...Granted, again, it may be best to keep it from them for as long as possible.

  • @VioletWhirlwind Character limit didn't let me finish.

Personally, I think it's still implied that she was chosing to die over joining the Pridelanders even in the movie as it is. Either that or it's leaving it open for another sequal.

  • What I find interesting is that in the finished product, when Zira is falling, you can still see her smile, even though they dubbed her scream over that part.

  • so she did it the hard way huh? harsh

  • So much better. But, I can see why they cut that out.

  • Wow that would've given LK 2 a darker turn. But yeah, since it was a kid's movie, suicide wouln't be the most appropriate thing to add. I like this though, it shows more of a kind of darker manic side to Zira. =3

  • This should have been a finished alternate ending (Kind of like how "I Am Legend" did...) instead of just a deleted scene.

  • The movie would have been in theatres if this scene was included.

  • noooo

  • I got more creeped out by the look in her eyes and the orchestration when she fell than anything

  • i thout she just fell because she couldnt hold on.

  • @Skunk90210

That's the idea I got too. I thought she refused help the first time, but then she realized that she would really die and actually tried scraping her way back up to get to Kiara... but fell anyway. e__e It made me feel sad for her.

  • thats scary

  • if it was scar on zira place he would take her paw get out and push her of the cliff :] but zira if to blined with revange

  • Disney lessons 101: its okay to have a semi-rape sceen in Hunchback of Notre Dame, and the all most setting a human on fire part.

but its not okay to have suicide, much less a giant cat letting go off a clif. nope not at all.

  • The problem is, is that this is later Disney work. When Disney was actually working on things and around, the movies were masterpieces. Times change, though, and parent's become stupidly overprotective of their children and that's why things like these are cut out in the sequels. That's why I don't like new Disney and I like Pixar; Pixar tells it how it is.

  • anyone even cared?

Maybe Zira wanted to die there cause Thats the place where Nuka Died and maybe the place where Scar Died!

  • This is such a great scene. And while I respect that they decided to cut it out because they didn't think suicide is good for a kids movie, I am left wondering why the attempted suicide in the Incredibles was left in. Sure the guy didn't succeed, but isn't that a bit of a double standard?

  • @NightsEclipse44 It's because Pixar is badass like that. :) And they don't talk down to their audience... I think that as disturbing as this scene is, Mufasa's death wasn't a walk in the park, either...

  • @NightsEclipse44 Murdering your brother, leaving a child an orphan, and attempting to murder him as well isn't good for a kids movie anyway.

    Lion King did it anyway.

Lest we also go into the disturbing rape context of one of Disney's later films, Hunchback of Notre Dame.

  • @NightsEclipse44 who committed suicide in the Incredibles

  • @NightsEclipse44 Well, he got saved, and as a kid I didn't i=understand what was going on...I thought it was a stunt or something.

  • This cutscene makes me love Zira even more. :)

  • I think the idea of Zira committing suicide would have been a much more likely option to her death, and technically Disney was going to make it canon, but they figured suicide would be too dark for the film and they changed it.

Technically speaking, Zira did indeed commit suicide, but the film just cut out some scenes to make it look like she simply fell.

These scenes are really interesting, thanks for posting them!

  • Clicked the link, saw the title, knew what was gonna happen, still shocked by how haunting this is.

Very well done scene, I'd say.

  • Haha, even in sketchy, pencil form that is unbelievably creepy, more than I was expecting it to be. She sounds like Gollum.

  • @ACompanyofSwans lmao, I said the same exact thing in a comment a few years ago XD

  • @Sallyallie89 Haha, clearly great minds think alike :)

  • crazy bitch

  • i like this ending now, but if I was a kid it probably would've creeped me out just a little bit.

  • Wow.. that.. puts a whole new spin on this...

  • Just shows the potential animation has. Granted, i wouldn't want my 5 year old watching things like this, because it's a concept young kids usually don't understand. But if this has been a movie not aimed at children they could have kept this in.

  • I love Zira. I really do.

But I got an odd sense of Deja Vu watching this. I remember THIS being how Zira died, not the final way Disney chose. And I never watched behind-the-scene extras.

  • I do not like it! Too scary!

  • @Evaspie You think this was scary? watch Watership down or even Felidae!

  • @blackhole73 oh gosh! Felidae D: uuuuuhhhhh most horrible thing i have ever seen! Plague Dogs is bad too.... that's why they aren't kid movies!

  • Seeing this and nuka's death scene really makes me wish Disney did some not-G-rated-for-5-year-old movies... the animation, voice, and impact of these 2 scenes are better than the entire rest of the movie to me, it's terrible that they had to take it out...

  • oh my gosh....she's smiling as she is going down is real freaky. But even though they cut this part out, you can still see she's smiling in the final version if you look closely

  • holy crap. Well we all know Zira needed a one way ticket to the nut house any way....

  • Well Zira commiting suicidewould explain why she didn't take kiara's hand Because if I know Zira if she knew she wouldn't make she would have pulled Kiara down with her. Then it would be cool if Simba saved her at the last minute but Zira fell

  • @Shaqstheman000 or i could explain suicide at an older age when i have kids, douchebag. i find it funny you look for comments to bitch about.(my comment is a row or two from this one.)

  • Suicide mingles with death, it may be a bit more serious but it's in the same category. Disney shows so much, but when it comes to suicide they suddenly back out.

Personally, I wish they would have kept this scene in the movie. It would have really made Zira's character pop out more then it already does.

  • Keeping this scene and Nuka's deleted death scene would've bumped this movie from a 6 to a 7.5 for me.

  • DUUUUUUUUUUDE 8D why the heck dident they keep that?

  • Hmm... they should have kept it. I mean yes, suicide shouldn't be in a kids move, let alone a Disney one... But it's ten times better

  • I'm not suprised

  • Eh, Zira is bad, but I really like her more and more everytime, I`m impressed with her character in general, for a villain, she is great. A psycho mother, obsessed with Scar, ignores Nuka all the time, suicide and all...Her character is just, woah.

  • Wow. D8

  • holy crap...that WAS scarey!!!!!!!

  • this was scary o_O

  • The only difference is in the finished version Zira doesn't say anything. She still chooses death over joining the pridelanders.

  • @bedazzledcandybar

She fell. It made it seem like she was trying to get back up, but couldn't.

In this one she smiles, and clearly falls on her own will.

  • Zira sounds like Gollum from Lord of the Rings when she says "Neeeeveerrrr..."

  • Wow, creepy.... O.O

I can see why they wanted to take this scene out for little kids xD

  • neeevvverrrr.

  • freeking creepy!

  • Zira has a creepy voice in de end D:

  • There are rumors of a Lion King 4 involving Zira surviving the fall. Had they kept this line, there'd be no need for a possible Lion King 4.

  • I see why she did it, dayum. Her husband is dead, her oldest son is dead, her youngest has been run off/overthrown...she's probably going to be torn apart by Pridelanders anyway so why not take the quicker route?

  • wow i never knew disney was a bit scared to put this in the movie XD she sounds like cuckey the weird live doll o.O when she jumps off

  • It was cut?

I had the video long ago and this scene was there, in full colour and all that.

maybe it was only the uk version or something.

  • @clone273 It did happen in the original version... but she never says "No, never." Which I guess implies that she was willing to die. Not that it made much difference. She still refused the offer of help and died anyway.

  • she looked so insane when she said never....

  • I noticed when she fell she was smiling too 0-0 lazy disney XD

  • I remember show this to my sister, and she asked "Why did they cut it?" I told the reason and she yelled "Are you kidding me? That wasnt correct! If you look at the news now, you see some teens commiting suicide for a thousand of reasons, and yet still noy showing THIS?"

    o_O!

  • wow, this is very eerie. i had the chills!

    impressive.

  • This one of my fav deleted scenes from TLK2, and I just realized the background music is from the first movie O_o

  • NO U GOT IT ALL WRONG THIS VERTSION WASNT SUICIDE ZIRA WAS GOING TO SURVIVE FOR THE NEXT MOVIE

  • @Fargosis16 There won't be a next 'Lion King' movie and there is no information source in your commeny. Apparently you have read too many fan fictions.

  • @MistressX09 yes there wont be one but when they created this scene they had the idea of a 3rd er 4th in mind

  • @Fargosis16 Really? Could you send me a link where that is stated please?

  • @MistressX09 yep i remember seeing it somehere it will just take a few minutes

  • I love it!!! they should have released a special version with all of this and all the other scenes actually in it!!! I would sooo pay for it. I love the conflict and the drama!! Lion king FTW!

  • now i see why they cut it. it was just too horrific like the way she smiled and said "never"
