just bought one in faded cherry, amazing bass, light weight, amazing neck and feel. Great sounding pickups. All quality wood, parts and case. I can't put the bugger down, i'll have to see if it will out performs my American standard P bass???
hey , bass sounds brilliant , but because of the short scale , would it not be difficult to down tune? i play in drop B with my band , so am unsure if it would work out
i can only imagine turning up to work in the morning and having a brand new gibson bass to test run, then a rickenbaker 4003 in the afternoon !!! jeazooooo !!!
as we say up here in scotland.... "Gie ez a Job man"
Sweet video! I only ever wanted the vintage EB-3's because they had that special Gibson tone...but I see the reissue is not as lost as I thought at all! Sounds like it's got some grooving goodness in it :)
Why it leaves the factory with roundwound strings escapes me. Gibson shortscales traditionally have flatwounds. First thing I did is put flats on mine. Check my featured vid for how thick and creamy the SG can sound when properly set up and amplified.
Cool that you're going to buy this bass. I'm going to get mine next week too. You can go to Tonika in Groningen, but if you live near Germany, it's easy to go to the musicstore in Keulen, or Thomann. Or just order it on the internet (; Hope i've helped a little..
i heard the electronics on this arent that different from the epiphone version , thats probabaly saying good about the epiphone rather than saying bad about the gibson tho , cool looking bass tho

There's really nothing I enjoy from this bass (but hey, that's just me) ... I'd rather have one of the squier vintage series

The neck is glued in, it is not a neck through design!

@bemolable not even close to a jazz bass.
A fender it's always the best choice XD
