this video sucks, I wonder how does this guitarist feel music when playing and shredding like that ?! just look at his face when playing, eufffffffffff

Many "shred" guitarists feel a strong inner need to make excessive "emotional" faces when soloing...this arguably insincere behavior likely comes from years of being heavily criticized for having little (or no) no "feeling" in their playing.
well this one was'nt that great but he is a great player but this one sound way out to my ear.And he want to be yngwie to much he need find him self as his own player.
Hi Jason, much of his recent material is more progressive guitar, with odd time signatures etc and less bombastic Yngwie neo classical. His new CD Step into the future consists of just one song that is 76 minutes in length that features Marco Minnemann on drums. NB this is an old clip.
Hey Jason. I just checked out some of your vids. You can definitely play man. Wow. Anyway, I've talked to George a few times and not once did he come off as being rude. To me he seemed like a down to earth guy. I guess not everyone gets along. Regardless George is a killer player whether you or others think he's an Yngwie rip off. I listen to a lot of guys who sound more like Yngwie than George. To me George has his own unique style. Anyway, keep up the great playing. Happy holidays..
How can you say this? Bellas uses different scales, his phrasing is different, his tone is way different, his songs are complex and there is lots of stuff in odd time. In my opinion Bellas is creatively superior to yngwie, and is much more interesting to listen to. So once again how is Bellas a yngwie rip off? If you can't intelligent argue this point then please don't leave retarded comments.
Wow that was really gay

Good stuff
I like the dry tone without much gain, can't hide any mistakes in there!

I enjoy + respect GB's playing. However, after digesting Shawn Lane...he sounds rather paltry and uninspired as a player.

What the hell kind of improv is that!? Great technical playing, but the backing track and phrasing are...
think: "monkey fucking vacuum"...
or somewhere along those lines. I think that is the track county jails play in holding cells or something from that album.

I like George's playing but that backing track is pretty pathetic
P3313 2 years ago
yea a little confusing because he seems to be playing in the harmonic minor, but the lead doesn't really match the chord progression, lol.
Good clean playing, but something's off...

I believe it's the Ionian #5 mode. The 3rd mode of Harmonic minor.
cgsweep 2 years ago 4
i think that harmonic minor over ionian backing sounds interesting(at least to me it does)
13guitard00d 2 years ago 3
its not a very common scale. its the 3rd inversion of the harmonic minor scale.Which is ionian played with a raised 5th scale degree.

That is a good point, and I do find some guitarists fall into that trap.
Although I think George has a lot of fun when he plays.
That's the single most important thing after all. :)

Do you think Joe Cocker, makes faces because he's been told that he sucks?
milesoffilm 2 years ago
No- I don't think that Joe Cocker makes faces because he's been told that he sucks. Anything is possible though...you would have to ask Joe Cocker.

boring. Up down Up down This guy has no imagination. He sucked with Moog and he still sux.

Digging the really clean tone, doesn't sound that much like Yngwie unless you compare everyone who plays in Ionian to him. Don't stereo type kids.

you are a moron. He doesn't want to be yngwie. He has got a distinct neoclassical style of his own. You know nothing about music.
