Doesn't look to be 12 maybe 6 or 7 but still a nice fish.Congrats.As for the zebco I have caught striped bass on mine 20-25 lbs but usually use open face reels now.Funny thing is I bought several South Bend Fishing Pal reels like 5 years ago for 1.75 each for pan fishing and they have out fished even the expensive reels.It's the fisherman not the reel.

You can get a spinning reel which is typically standard for overall fishing for the same price or even cheaper or maybe even an extremely cheap bait casting reel for the same price as a spincast.
