Cools story - I have been selected on 3 juries - 2 civil one criminal. I almost got selected for a murder trial - he was pleading insanity - but they let me go on that too.
I sort of like serving on a jury - an interesting experience that I highly recommend to all.
Now I have discovered something we have in common. I too have always wanted to serve on a Jury, but was always rejected because of some of my past jobs which you know about. Someone must have liked me because I was chosen to serve in other capacities which you also know about. By this time the comment readers are trying to figure out what you know about??? I loved this video, Caroline.
I always dodged jury duty but never got an opportunity to do a murder trial. That would be fascinating. I was always called for DUIs and forgery cases. snooze. Sorry you were booted but at least you know you initially had a +plus+ sign next to your name!
Thank you! The excitement of such a case is mixed with sadness. Sadness for the victims and their families. Sadness about the capability of human beings.
That would have been a great case to be on. I have jury duty tomorrow and wonder what kind of case it will be for. Probably a DUI or something pathetic like that - not to say a DUI is pathetic but you know what I mean..Like you, I probably won't get picked.. I'll let you know!
OOOOh, let us know what happens. Of course, don't let us know anything you're not allowed to let us know. They have strict rules about what you say and hear.
Given the chance we 3CoolKats would have fried him for 3 cans of cat food and a bag of catnip. Of course we never seem to make it even as far as you did. Once the questioning gets around to torture of small mammals we always seem to get dismissed. We almost made it one time but Carly hacked up a hairball on the prosecutor. Prosecutors shouldn't be wearing Armani suits anyway. It looks suspicious.
I've been called to jury duty soooo many times and made it to voir dire twice. I start making up my mind about guilt or innocense as soon as I hear the details of the charges, so I'd make a terrible juror and as truth will out, I've been excused each time. I understand someone wanting to be involved in the process but I really don't.
I can totally relate...I get hooked on trials on Court TV. Love it!!!!! Excellent story and I don't think are terrible at all for being excited about being on that case. It would have been so fascinating!!!

I'm glad you like it! I can put some people off when I behave in such an animated way.

I was trying to stay on the jury, so I pretended not to have a history of torturing small animals. :)

It's pretty easy to get out of jury duty: just let them know that you won't be fair, you're biased in some way, and you're gone.

So true, and on the other hand it's scarey to think how easy it is to hide prejudice and get selected!
