I heard the other version of this song you did lamenting the changes in "9 Chickweed Lane", and I was wondering, "Does she write and record a heart-wrenching Broadway blockbuster everytime she stops reading a comic strip?" Then I saw the link to this one. Beautifully done in both cases. This song really fits you. Makes me curious about this "Chess" musical that it's from.
Another lovely rendition of beautiful music. Saw from other comments that you're self-conscious about your nostrils. I didn't even notice that -- I was too mesmerized by your angelic voice and pretty little face. Keep up the great work!
Haha, thanks! The nostril thing was mainly a joke (sort of). I didn't realize until after I shot the video that balancing my laptop on my lap and looking down at it was going to cause the camera to look right up my nostrils. :) So of course I had to make a self-deprecating comment about it. Thanks for liking the video anyway!
You (and your nostrils) still look and sound great. Well, your nostrils don't sound like anything.. they just change the sound... I'll stop this awkward comment right he
I do wish I'd put the laptop on something higher and more stable, though. Quite apart from the rocking back and forth, every time I watch this video I want to retitle it "Someone Else's Story, Co-Starring Molly's Nostrils." :)
So of course the sound take is what it is (spontaneous recording, you said?) but even so, this sounds like professional singing. You would benefit from a bit of effects and from a decent soundtrack, but this is in tune, and I can't find anything much to complain about the interpretation. Good job.
Thanks! I do sing professionally, though not in musical theatre anymore. I did get a Bachelor's degree in MT, and then decided my talents were more suited for other genres. ;)
Hehe...well, truth be told, I'm 33! :D but I did the video sort of spontaneously, and didn't properly warm up beforehand. My bad! (and yes, I am a soprano from hell, and it's a little low for me!) Anyway, thanks!
i come to listen to professional performance and didnt like it. their voice is too rude. strong, but not good for this song. so thank u, i will better listen to ur singing :)

What a fabulous rendition! I don't even know you, but I would strongly urge you to pursue professional singing.
That was really great. I also love the musical, "Chess". I just recorded 3 selections from it (see my channel).
My best to you. - Joe

Thanks! I agree...and "Heaven Help My Heart" is wonderful too. No one does "bittersweet" quite like Tim Rice. ;)

Ha!
I felt exactly the same about a couple of mine.
Others never commented, though,
and I never noticed it on yours.
Until you wrote that.
Hmm,
maybe you want to delete that comment ;=)

You have a lovely voice, Molly.
So true and pure and warm and strong.
I don't seem to have heard of ANY of the songs you sing
but I am thoroughly enjoying the education!
5 stars
