  • @theskaneesh Just google images for a camera and pick one with a white background and remove the background with the magic wand.

  • @GIMPtricks If i do the magic wand it turns completely black

  • @theskaneesh Watch my cut out cute kitten tutorial, the first step. You need to add an alpha channel first.

  • Outstanding tutorial, many thanks.

  • @tenkfeet You're welcome and thank you for the compliment.

  • Where did you get the Gimp Skin/Theme from?

  • @canacourse See the FAQ on my channel. There's a video on how to get it.

  • Where did you get the Gimp Skin/Theme from?

  • when you used the sharpen tool i almost cried

because when ever i use a stock it turnes out alittle blury and when i use the sharpen tool it looks like a millon dollars seams like there is a script for every thing XD

  • Nice tutorial, put the opacity to 0% on the active layer when transforming is a good trick, never used, so thanks. XD also the reset in the iwarp filter when reescale to avoid the blurring effect. overall, easy to follow and as always good work

  • thanks GIMPtricks this is great but ha a little trouble finding a camera facing the right way :)

  • Really useful and very nicely presented, thank you.

  • Amazing tutorial!

Really enjoyed it, and really inspiring.

I also really like the way you master The Gimp. Well done.

    Regards!

  • i want to know how you got that pic of the camera with out like a white in the back round from it

  • @Imakesumvideos123 I used the magic wand and removed the background before I started making the video.

I've shown it in a few of my videos. Type in tardis in the search field above my videos and you'll get to one of them.

  • @GIMPtricks - "Type in tardis in the search field above my videos and you'll get to [a tutorial]."

LOL, why would tardis pull it up?! Now I have to go look. :P

  • @hootypatootie because it's the TARDIS of course! LOL

  • Wonderful video! Thank you for posting!

  • Ooh, nice trick lowering the opacity when using the perspective tool!

  • Great vids GIMPtricks, love your ideas, and your one of the last active original gimpers on youtube. :) Keep up the good work. :D

  • @LAxFTWx Thanks.

I noticed you've got a nice collection of GIMP videos yourself!

  • Thank you very much. Now I know how to use correctly the perspective tool. Good Result too. ^^

  • Very cool. Learned how to do something knew with GIMP. Thanks!

  • very nice! thanks for the great tutorials! :)

  • Great video! Your tip on zeroing the opacity while using the perspective tool was a bonus. Thanks.

  • WOW! i missed many of your long amazing videos, this is one is awesome!

How do you even get ideas with GIMP?

  • You're Just Awesome, i aprucciate the time you put on ure videos and again thanks!

  • I have no idea why people keep asking you if you are a female or male. You sound nothing like a man; actually your voice is very pleasant.

  • nice video...super

  • Thanks so much! These videos are so clear! Keep them coming :D <3

  • Your videos are amazings :) I've learned a lot of using gimp from you <3

  • This is a really cool photo manipulation technique! I love your videos :)

  • once again thanks, I always learn something new thanks to your videos as well as inspired to experiment with Gimp.

  • are you a girl or a boy?

  • @turbotonic27 A woman.

I seem to get this question the most on videos where my voice is a bit tired and hoarse.

  • you sound like a woman not a man..anyway nice tutorial.

  • @xander900 Lots of people think I'm 12. That's where the confusion comes from. Because a man my age with such a high voice is usually in a lot of pain at that moment. ;)

  • @GIMPtricks lol

  • @GIMPtricks if people can't distinguish a 12 year old against a womans voice they must be brain damaged. lol

  • @xander900 In all fairness, most of them do think the 12 yr old boy has a weird voice. lol

It's just that people expect to hear a boy do a tutorial and not a woman.

  • @GIMPtricks Sex doesn't matter,so is age.As long as u make awesome tutorials.I've seen people with worster voice,it's like its in D major.(not saying u have a bad voice)

  • You should just upload the camera photo to photobucket and give us the link.

I tried finding a similar picture and was unsuccessful.

  • what do you use as your screen recorder?

  • @TheSMiiSH Camtasia Studio or Camstudio.

  • what photoshop programme did yu use for this video??

Nice video by the way too ....

  • @trotty68 The programme is called GIMP. It's free, just google it, it's the first link.

  • Great tutorial. Thank you.

  • Nice! I learned a few techniques in the video. Thanks!

  • Where did you get the photo of the camera?

  • @tobydobson I can't remember. If you google for camera images you'll find plenty though.

  • nice

  • This technique rocks! Thanks!

  • very bloody good mate, sneeky kid thinks your the main girlie for gimp, and has done this today,he is very happy..lol

  • I still get the drop shadow over the transparent area, there's isn't one over the fully opaque area though. ಠ_ಠ also do you have a link to the camera picture.

  • @dubtubjo I only got a very transparent little bit of drop shadow under the transparent bit that wasn't in the way for me. But you can always just erase it.

I haven't got a link to the camera. Like I said in the end credit, I couldn't find the origin of the picture. I had it on my computer somewhere. Google camera images and you'll find similar ones.

  • Another Great tut! Thanks! :-)

  • I wish I knew how to do this last December. I could do it a few months later but still, this video wraps up what's left when I try to do it in photoshop.

  • @iplaysongs4u

Can you rephrase "wraps up what's left when I try to do it in photoshop." I'm a bit confused what you mean. lol

  • @GIMPtricks

Like it's never clean when I do the effect. I always have it unnatural lol.

  • wow, this is pretty original. thanks!

  • Really Creative Idea! Love all your hard work xxx
