  • My favorite spot is 4:05 where the subject enteres in F major -in stretto- one of those magical Bach moments. Brilliant registration and perfect tempo by Richter.

  • ... wow! :)

  • Superbly performed - I don't think Bach himself could have done this any better!

  • What a glorius fugue.

Though difficulto hear a half-step higher.

7:02 -Nice try withhe pedal trill athend of the fugue subject. Buturning off the 16-foot pedal reed makes no sense.

The WHOLE NOTE pedal trill is TOO long.

Thank you, advisor, for posting this and the wonderful pictures of Karl.

  • The greatest of all Gottfried Silbermann organs when it used to have its orginal 1/5 comma Silbermann mean tone, after its second restoration in the late '70s, before becoming mild into the present Silbermann-Sorge 1/6 comma mean tone.

This is the very temperament that made JS Bach angry, while playing the harshest modulations and making Gottfried to run away from the church. "You temper the way you want, I play the keys I want".

Richter tries to use the tremulant to fake this temperament.

  • the selection of stops that Karl Richter used was just fabulous, it was as if it was a symphony!

  • Superb fugue...my God, this interpretation is the best I ever heard..Thanks to the great Karl Richter and the Master J. S. Bach...I'm thinking that now, Bach and Karl are playing together and talking about these masterpieces..:)

  • @BAxitorCH, He lets Bach live on through his own lifeforce. That's what a real musician does. Breathing that fresh air into the very fabric of the music itself.

  • @BAxitorCH : Listen twit ! Do you have to really blaspheme ?

  • Mr. Richter's Interpretations of Bach's music are fantastic! Works from Karl inspired me, this is more than playing the notes. Many organ pieces Mr. Richter played slower than others organist, but in this tempos can more things to hear. When I listen Bach's works from Richter, I feel that the God really exist!

  • Karl Richter: Triosonate Nr.2 C-moll, BWV 526 (Bach) - 1965 Recording, DG

    thanks and regards

  • ... phrasing not ´clipped enough ... .

  • Like an organ symphony in two movements... Wonderful.

  • @1963mathetes : On that note one could see the C major Toccata as a symphony.

  • Questa immagine iniziali di sfondo mi fanno pensare al mistero della natura, lo stesso mistero che avvolge le impagabili intrepretazionei del grande Karl!

    Complimenti per il video.

  • Grazie Micangess.

  • Musica excelente.¿Se puede crear algo mejor?.

    Karl Richter,un genio del organo.
