This is a very horrible condition and anyone who has to go through this I feel for. I went through it in May 2010. We must be grateful to the amazing doctors who perform this surgery. For those who are going through this I blogged through my rehab and recovery from my surgery.
I always thank all my friends and family, all the hospital staff at the Manor hospital in oxford and the full surgery team. Not forgetting all the physios who helped me recover.
Thank you for the upload. I am going to have a ependymoma removed from my spinal cord on November first. This shows me exactly what the surgery entails. Does anyone know how long a surgery like this takes?
@XxRobJohnsonxX I had a spinal cord tumor removed in January 2010 it took about 5 hours I had an 8.4 cm tumor removed it was quite large 95 percent of it was removed ! I feel a lot better and My leg pain went away and I can walk normal again! Thank God! Anyway I hope your surgery went well! May God watch over you you to!
Shouldn't you be thanking the surgeon and surgical team? God didn't really have much to do with it (in fact, under your superstition, "He" is the one that gave it to you in the first place, right?)
@TheIntelexual hahaha exactly, I'm sure the neurosurgeon who removed the tumor wouldn't have minded a shoutout after his 15 years of school and years of practice, but the thanks goes to God? powermax57 correction => May the doctor watch over you too.
@TheIntelexual its not my place to speculate on whether or not god exists, but who gives you the right to trample over anyone else's beliefs? If you do not believe in God, then I respect your freedom to believe so, but if you start condemning another's beliefs you are just as bad as a proselytizing Christian crusader
@hman9981 well..because...its a difficult career to acquire...one must be very smart...and i kno tht i can give it all i have...but there are too many factors...id give it all i can to actually do this....
Give it all you've got and you will make it eventually. Write the MCAT. Apply to many Med schools in the U.S. If you don't get accepted the first time, continue your education then apply again.
@hman9981 yea rite now im majoring in biology and even though im not even close to taking the MCAT im already going over the exams study guides...I was thinking of applying to the Guadalajara's Autonomous Medical School...but idk like i said there are many complications tht mite impede me to go all the way...r u a doctor??
Why UAG? You need to consider how easy it will be to get a residency back in the U.S. I heard that SGU students in the Caribbean have good chances of getting a residency back in the US, however, that university is more costly. The safest way is to stay in the US and don't go overseas. I am an aspiring-doctor like yourself. Hopefully your complications are not beyond your control.
@hman9981 well when it comes to cost...its a problem..but hopefully student loans help me out..the prob is with the MCAT which is wht im scared of...and um UAG..i heard it was a good school and well idk...i didnt kno about SGU but im gonna chek it out...and my complications..its all about how much im willing to sacrifice...

It is awesome how he is struggling to figure out the vernacular terms to explain it to a non-neurosurgeon audience.
