@BLaZe071775 it will slide just get 83a or 86a wheels or break in an 80a wheel. The 9star isn't twin shape though and I prefer twin shape for sliding so when you do get to doing 180's front and back won't matter.
if u guys like the apex u should check out the loaded dervish same shape board longer but u can upgrade everythin on the board online except the deck but with the apex it all comes with its standard parts
@masshredder The Loaded Dervish is a great board but deck only is $185. So it's on the expensive side. You can go faster on a Dervish too since it's bushing based where you can choose a hard duro bushing setup and tighten the trucks. The Apex 37 though is a really great carver which is what it's built for (aside from tricks). Nothing compares to Original trucks, the spring and loose truck combination. For a cheaper alternative to a Dervish I recommend the BC Eel. It's $125 for a deck.
It's a stiff board, no flex. More for some moderate downhill than carving. At it's price of around $200 I'd suggest getting a comparable Landyachtz if you're going to do downhill. The 9 Star trucks I don't like too. The bushing seats tend to shift the bushings making the trucks somewhat uneven after some use. If you prefer a stable board you can still get the 9 Star as a deck only and just buy the trucks, bushings and wheels as needed.
@mikenaki36 For me, no. I like my carving board with a good flex and lightweight as many do. The 9 Star is a bit heavy and stiff. The stock Gullwing trucks I'm not fond off too.
i really want the star 9 for my birthday :)
