Yeah cause it's not the way it's pronounced. Furthermore it's not going to sound like a moog no matter what you do because it's a DCO digital synth. Analog modeling is not analog at all.
Maybe to a novice, but I have both a microkorg and a Litlle Phatty stage 2, they sound nothing alike. If you think they do it might be time for a Q-tip.
the boss gt-6 has so many patches that are absolutely worthless. Being a 6 year heavy user of the GT-6, there are reasons which make me wonder if the employees at BOSS think that the guitar playing populace is so stupid that they embrace some really unattractive tones which they filled in. While the GT-6 is awesome, pretty much 99% of the patches are filler.
Well if you listen to today's music then I would say you are correct. I think a majority of the guitar populace is into crappy tone. I stopped using this for guitar because it was so limited but found that it affects a synth wave in a much less cheesier way (probably because synth waves are kinda inherently cheesy already). You need a couple more pedals to get any kind of decent guitar tone out of it and a lot of tweaking. I think patches in general just suck.
I use the GT-6B and the presets are mostly crap as well.
A lot of thought goes into the presets but they are not actually designed for everyday use. They are engineered to impress people in music stores and show all the crazy stuff the processor will do.
The same goes for the presets on the MicroKORG although I don't think most of them are as bad as everyone says.
