what I love is that this is actually Apollo's music, it plays several different times throughout the series every time Apollo does something interesting
This music would be perfect for a video tribute to the men and women of the US Armed Forces and law enforcement agencies, especially for those who put the uniform on, but were unable to return home to take it off.
@lostsoulindestiny Me too! Finished the series two weeks ago on hulu, box set arrived on my doorstep yesterday and I've already started the rewatch. Not to mention listening to the soundtracks over and over.....
@Aincare Caprica was something interesting, different style than galactica. It only lasted one season, and I believe only the Canadians got to see the whole season. It was good though.
I think this was played at the bit when Apollo was getting set to leave Galactica for good and the crew met him in the hangar deck to wish him farewell.
I will forever maintain that Bear McCreary and Howard Shore are the best composers the 12 colonies...I mean Middle Earth...I mean Earth...I mean the world HAS EVER HEARD
Two people, the two who disliked this, have never sent someone off. Have never stood and watched a loved one leave, or die. Have never understood what it means to be human. Have never turned around to realize that someone is never coming back, for better or worse. The two who disliked this have never wished someone a fond farewell.
We are human, we live with love, and loss, and joy, and sadness, comfort and fear. And that's exactly what separates us from the machines.
just because it isnt the love and fear youre used to or can even understand doesnt make it any less than what we experience. you are human, a product of nature, as are machines. our emotions are our programming, the same as a bee's or panda's or even a machines, if it is designed with such. i imagine what we experience as love and happiness or even sadness, one day a machine will have a similar feeling, and i would not belittle such things if i were you.
I own all battlestar music as a result of this song. After the first "whistle and bagpipe" song of the show I always looked forward to when it would show up again.. I wasn't prepared for the power of this version.
I played this through my ipod when my family and I bid farewell to my brother as he left to serve a mission for our church. It was perfect.
I get roped into watching these shows on netflix but I try to tell myself I'm not a nerd until a song like this really gets to me. It perfectly conveys the love a father and son share. Just sublime...
Would love to have this play at my Wedding, think its a little to upbeat for the funeral mind. Maybe Admiral and Commander for a funeral, but even then this general theme lifts me up a bit whenever i hear it, although that could be argued to be exactly what you need at a funeral
Well, we should assume that the raptors still did work, allowing for people to transport from one place to another, at least from the time being. We have to remember that everyone who survived all four years just experienced one of the most traumatic experiences imaginaeable, and as such, I can at least with be in agreement with the need to start over. I imagine Lee and Adama did indeed might up again, but I believe Adama needed his time to grieve over the loss of Roslin.
Well most of them are varients of Wander my friends and Admiral and Commander, but i consider those themes to be the BSG main show theme. Love it every time i hear it, good that it gets mixed around a bit
Of all the main characters, Lee's was the most tragic. He almost always did the right thing but in the end everyone left him. Starbuck dissapeared, Adama and Roslin took off on their own, leaving him with nothing and no one. It was kind of depressing. Anyone else have a more positive insight on his ending?
@flockofseagulls87 Remember Pythia? :)"All this has happened before. All this will happen again." In other words who is to claim that after 150 000 years all of the Galactica's crew wont be reborn again and Colonial fleet rebuilt? I doubt that there is a single species in the Universe keeping records of its population for the past 150 000 years :) And Starbuck... Well shes just a messenger that's stuck with the job to ensure that the circle id closed.
It's a little sad when you think that Lee never set foot in a Viper ever again. I'd have liked to see him lead the squadron in the battle with the Colony, but I guess it made more sense from a writing standpoint to have him in the middle of the episode's action.
did anyone find it interesting that we never got to see Laura/Lee say goodbye in that scene face to face? I always wondered if there was some reason for that. I mean they did have a significant relationship if for no other reason than through Laura Lee got to defy his Father over and over LOL "he's your son" "he's your military adviser!" and then of course what Lee did to Laura during the Baltar trial. GREATEST SHOW EVER!
As I have been watching this whole series from the beginning, it has dawned on me how courageous the pilots were. Leading the fleet through the radiation field to the Algae Planet. Kat sacrificed herself for the good of a civilian ship.
I loved this scene. It brought tears to my eyes, especially looking back to how Lee's relationship with his father was when he first arrived on the Galactica. Lee practically hated his father, but was completely devoted to him when he left as a Colonial Officer for the last time.
oh it wll be forever!...or at lest a couple more years long lived! until something else furturistic gets a more realisitc emotional remake....everything does these days...
