PAKISTAN SPACE PROGRAM '' Pakistani aim is to become the first country to put a terrorist in orbit by 2040. We are working closely with China, which has copied technology from Russia and USA for this goal''
English is the official language of aviation, but NOT the language of 180 million Pakistani for whom this documentary was intended.
This program was not well designed. I can say that because I have been involved in Pakistani Aviation for the last 15 years. It gave out very little information.
"Pakistanis know little, they pretend to know everything & r inherently impatient"
Please do not make general ignorant statements about Pakistanis.
@chicagoguy7 15 years in Aviation. fine, give me this information; How can u bring cost of flight training down in Pakistan. U have got to answer this in one single box here. let see ur experience. no offense.
CAA must change its rule to allow the import of aircrafts older than 10 years. Fuel is already subsidized, labor (instructors & mechanics) is cheap, flight schools pay nothing for operations (no landing fees & low CAA dues) at Pak air fields, you can't save on parts. However, 2000 Cessna 172S cost around 95K and a 1977 Cessna 172N costs around 40K. When you import 95K plane... you start out by charging more. Also, this one rule will bring down the barrier to entry resulting in competition.
So let me ask this question. As a son of a SJ, Tbt fighter pilot why is it that in a country of 180 million we feel it necessary to promote a program in english when less than 1% of our population speaks the language. Also why are jeans so popular.
Since English is official Aviation language over world, the program was made for those who knew the language. Second, Aviation is a science intensive profession. A 40-minute program thus could've never been able to give the smallest information but whatever was given was plain and clear for the unaware. The program did well by design. More importantly, it helped derive the info intended for good use that while Pakistanis know little, they pretend to know everything & r inherently impatient.
@chicagoguy7 First of all, while you write 'United States' as your country of origin, that eliminates you from casting expert opinion on Pakistan. looks like it is you who wants to be some angreiz not the program director or producer. well answer the question i asked. let see if u really know what needs to be done or can give that information in just a small box :-)
@chicagoguy7 Address ur remarks (kala angreiz) refers; expect to be paid in kind. And ur reply on cost reduction...it was very inbox, very market practice, ineffective, inadequate and non scientific approach to cost reduction. I know people with Ph.Ds and 40 years Aviation experience, others claiming this or that, not one with an answer to Pakistan Aviation or Pakistan. I wont boast of my experiences or researches, but will very humbly tell, 'Watch me do it', InshaAllah.
@bluesky747er. Wish you best of luck to reduce the cost. What I posted is being lobbied by 7 schools in Pakistan (PFC, MFC, RFC, LFC, Hybrid, Pak Aviators & Schon). They all must be crazy?
Next time you have a documentary for Pakistani people, make it in URDU a language spoken from Karachi to Khyber.
If you are in Pakistan, make a documentary for the Pakistani people which is played on Pak TV, but you make it in English, it defeats the purpose. Instead of understanding this you just argue.
@chicagoguy7 all flight schools are making money, poor management and false assumptions, i know almost all of them. Peshawar better on some accounts. i have given a researched solution. it requires further testing/ research which i have designed now. it'll take a year for results to come. we'll then share them with ICAO and may be that'll impact the entire world. right now the information is copyrighted. necessary regs recommendations being made.
@chicagoguy7 U must appreciate the work done on AS Pakistan. Try filming this in the stringent of security conditions in Pakistan, they wont let u carry a camera just outside airport premises, let alone filming anything.& then film this whole thing in just 4 days four different portions u different Aviation aspect. There's more to it. How quickly We Pakistanis get critical. Our dilemma is posing threat to our existence in more complicated ways than u might think, the answers equally intricate.
@bluesky747er: YES I do appreciate the work done by you in filming this documentary. Its good work. However my point is that it would've been great if you would've made this in Urdu and maybe more research to get more info out. Like how many flight schools we have, where are they bases, what aircrafts they have? etc
@chicagoguy7 U will be amazed as to the research. but anymore information would have been too much and second and very importantly, the info outflow was controlled to prevent Pakistanis from being too enthusiastic when i had nothing but expensive and limited aviation to give my countrymen on the ground. but now Alhamdulillah what we have done was not done in last 60 years. To me thats also meaningless unless the Pakistani youth benefits. Take care and keep in touch.
@chicagoguy7 In light of the first Air Space Pakistan, i have now designed 13 episodes with wealth of information on 'Aviation for Pakistan' view point, filming aided by on board and external cameras/platforms some excellent animations and scenic flying over Pakistan where even commercial planes are not allowed flying, let alone General Aviation. the series is backed by actions on the ground.
PAKISTAN SPACE PROGRAM '' Pakistani aim is to become the first country to put a terrorist in orbit by 2040. We are working closely with China, which has copied technology from Russia and USA for this goal''
@ScorpionFire98 dude seriously you sound like an indian. Why english, we never learn't english when we were at the top of the world. Look into our history and tell how many people so willingly wanted to speak english during the great muslim empires.
I don't know what chicagoguy7's message was but I am also a Pakistani American and as much as I would like all Pakistanis to learn English, I would like the Pakistani businesses and media (such as the people who created this documentary) to produce material that is targeted for the majority of the Pakistani public which does not speak nor understand English. This documentary is useless for the majority of Pakistanis and this documentary is not helping them learn English either.
What is the audience of Aaj TV? Is it English-speaking Americans or Britons that constitute the majority viewers of Aaj TV or is it the Pakistani public (over-whelmingly non-English-speaking) that constitutes the major audience of Aaj TV?
Look at the media of the rest of the world, look at Europe, Japan, Latin America, they are also trying to learn English but they are producing their works in their local languages, not just English.
@ScorpionFire98 no we want to speak more and more of OUR LANGUAGES that is PROGRESS. Urdu, Sindhi, Balochi, Paskhutn, Punjabi Kashmiri Zindabad. Pakistan Zindabad
i know many PAF officers, not one had the slightest idea of what aviation integration was all about. and i mean everyone, those with SJs included. Strategically though, unlike the rest, these PAF men understood well & actions Pakistan will know to come soon. but u have to understand, the US took a century to become the Aviation giant they now are. Pakistanis are so terribly stagnated, it has taken years to move a fraction of the whole action an American would have taken weeks to do.
i know this fahd guy. he is so madly in love with the sky he told us about air space program in january that he was making it he has done great service to pakistan's aviation congratulations
yes i spoke to fahd last night they have started work with the PAF now for another program called 'Air Space Pakistan-PAF'. this one is coming with extreme excitement he'll direct it fully this time
