Having seen the movie now, I actually think Aunt May was giving him some pretty good advice about not being ready to marry MJ that he just completely ignored. Because that's what he does with anything anyone tells him in this movie. He doesn't catch on about the problems caused by the space gook because he ignores his professor's warnings about it. He makes it easy for Harry to cause problems for him and MJ by not listening to her. Aunt May's advice is just one more example.

But Hollywood started to reboot everything (snow white - 2 of them, alice in wonderland - which was scary but good movie, jack and the beans, red riding hood).
